FF7 had one of the biggest marketing budgets in videogame history. 100 Million Dollars in just pure marketing. To give an idea that's Cyberpunk levels of Marketing Budget but in the 90's. Since many games just weren't 3D yet there really wasn't anything in the way for FF7 to become the game everyone wants because that's how it was planned. Even after Cyberpunk had a failure of a launch and ruined its reputation it was able to bounce back anyways because it just brought in that many people because the marketing was casting a very wide net. That's why FF7 is both really loved and highly criticized especially from Japanese Fans. It was arguably FF7 that brought Square Enix down in quality because of how they handled their International Release of FF7 vs the Japanese Original. It's never quite simple when it comes to Square Enix and Final Fantasy. Like you know why Kingdom Hearts Final Mix exists? Because Kingdom Hearts was healing their losses every time they made a dumb gamble with Final Fantasy. This company is constantly teetering on bankruptcy and it's just because they don't produce games as well as they could be. Guess what happened recently? Final Fantasy took a gamble (The FF7 Remake Series) aren't making sales and suddenly what happened? Lots of Kingdom Hearts talk and rumors. They can't do a FF9 Remake. At least not anymore because FF7 Remake proves its not profitable to remake these long RPGs. They're more likely to Remake a Kingdom Hearts game than another Final Fantasy game.
In interviews some square devs said they want to do it, but they are running from that because ecerybody interested says that in order to make a worthy FF 6 remake in their eyes it would take them double what 7 remake is lasting to be done, so no 6 remake for us any time soon.

It would be like two games and one and the surprise players with the 2-D remake within it would push it probably the game of the year for concept
I'm so upset that 9 is the front runner with the fans. It's not a bad game but I'm so much more infatuated with the ideal of FFX Remake or X-3. I'll buy anything associated with it.
@eyezfrfx4985 9 was never in the conversation until remake for 7 was announced cause the hardcore 9 fanbase has an aspect to it that hates 7 it triggered them to try to make up fake rumors and trailers to manifest this game into reality The discussion was always between 6 and 7 for a remake so 6 should be next if there is another FF remake project
Good video, man! I thought your video FF's identity was constructive, real, and positive. Besides, a few other content creators, I feel you have been one of the most realistic yet positive sources out there with FF's current state and Square Enix.
@CuriousCorduroy It’s a touchy subject for sure. A lot of people love FF and have different opinions about it. So there is bound to be some discourse. I thought you handled well though.
8 was amazing and so underrated. Definitely the deepest and heart wrenching multi generational love story of all the ff's. I would love to see it remade.
There is nothing obvious about it at all. It would be a terrible idea for incredibly obvious and blatant reasons.... What makes ff3 a good game is its gameplay, which will be completely altered in a modern remake.... ff3 has basic, generic story that barely exists at all. ff3 has generic, blank slate characters who shouldn't even be considered "written characters" because they never were, aside from the 3ds remake. They were still basic and generic even after the 3ds remake. Asking to remake ff3 is basically asking "Remake the nintendo era turned based classic job system." And we all know they aren't going to do that. People cant logic these days i swear. To choose to remake 3 over the narrative and character rich games of ff4-6 is an incredibly, blatantly stupid decision. ff5 has that same system, its more complex and larger in scale, and it also has good characters, plot, lore, and everything else you expect from final fantasy.
He is right, the locations alone are much bigger than 7 and there is so much more going on in it. You are not going to make it modern 3D and have one game.
I think square is pushing graphics too hard on its recent games. Imo what it needs is to reposition itself on the market. Set realistic goals on its games. I think it's better to do a remake of ff9 first before doing 17. The last games were filled with learnings. FF7Rs nailed the battle system and how minigames should be incorporated in the game. FF16 had nice development cycle, and i think the kaiju battles and cinematic battles were good. FF9 remake will be the best opportunity to explore on proper scale and level of graphics. Maybe modernize the ps1 style world maps and exploration? Rebirth scale is top notch but i think it's not sustainable for business (cost of development vs revenue). If square nails a 9 remake i could say ff17 will have a better future.
I've always said, the remake should be like the fan Memoria Project that was just like a technical video of what a remake could be like if they ever did it. It maintains that FF9 feel and look.
But is this going to draw in new players? Because that's the crux of things. Square Enix and the Final Fantasy series in general needs new players to keep the series going, because as time passes, innovations must be made to consider the changing demographic.
@@mcihay246 Classic JRPG style games still sell extremely well. You just have to look at games like Octopath and Bravely Default. Sell extremely well, well received, and before they were well received with their first games.....weren't well known. Both are by SE themselves. Then you have games like Sea of Stars which was extremely well received and sold well. Now attach a name like Final Fantasy with a bigger budget, but maintains that classic JRPG feel and it'll sell well without being overly bloated in the dev department because they are trying to be super realistic.
@@otysafiry Good point bringing up Octopath and Bravely Default... because that just proves that Final Fantasy doesn't have to be chained to one or the other style of gameplay because both of those can fulfill said niche. Lastly, the state of Final Fantasy determines the state of Square Enix. If Final Fantasy dies, Square Enix dies with it. BD and OT does not have such a burden. These two can be allowed to stay relatively the same, but FF does not have such a luxury when the gamer demographic changes. Not only that, but whether people like it or not, graphics also matter especially in a marketing standpoint.
@@mikeehrmantraut1899 Indeed. Although the state of FF would hurt SE more considering how popular FF is in comparison internationally. Also, Dragon Quest has a benefit of being what it always strives to be, an oft traditional turn-based RPG (rhyme unintended). Whereas FF has always been a series that innovates and did something different every entry.
Honestly all Square Enix has to do if they really wanna make money is make a remake on the graphical scale of FF7 remake for every FF game. I know that's a lot of money but they will definitely make a profit especially now they're moving away from Sony's exclusivity. Me personally I would want a FF10 remake first.
FF9 remake would be super nice~ but I have heart for FF5 with FF16's battle system~ Imagine~ Bartz changing Jobs mid combat like how Clive changes Eikons~ Though of course not a direct 1:1 of the battle system because it would be better if you can use other party members, add substance to equipment, make sense with elemental attribute advantages, no cooldown on skills, more enemies that can counter instead of just getting hammed, and other things that FF16 came short of~ In any case I hope FF gets treated well~
FF7 remake already has pre-made models (landscape, houses, etc) square can just use the models to make a new game more easily. That's how part 2 and part is bigger.
the only FF game I wanna see a remake of is FFXI, it's the one most at risk of becoming genuinely unplayable one day, and it is currently the least accessible game in the series, being PC only and requiring a PlayOnline account and its own subscription service at the same price as its vastly more popular younger brother FFXIV, all for a 20yo MMO missing a lot of modern MMO conveniences and staples. I would love either a FFXI "Offline" like DQX received, or a way to recreate XI within XIV somehow, in order to keep the most overlooked numbered entry alive
Personally, I think Final Fantasy is in a good spot. The games are high quality and the Metacritic ratings reflect that. The only problem was the exclusivity deal with Sony, but now that that's gone, there's hope that new FF games in the future will be released on all major platforms from day one and be financially successful again.
also worth noting among FF7,8,9 and 10, FF9 had the lowest lifetime sales with 5M sales. I can see FF9 having a smaller budget, not a big ambitious remake like 7R with most likely not split into 2-3 parts and its a turn based game cuz among 7,8,9 and 10 i think FF9 is the only FF there that should still be a turn based and this is coming from Rebirths combat fan. As for future FF games that should get the 7Remake treatment i think that should go to either FF8 or FF10
to be honest the sales of ff9 are not really very telling. only reason ff9 sales lack is because it was released after the ps2 came out. If anything this is one of the many reason people feel like it deserves a remake/remaster
I think FF9 should be 2 parts. FF7 is the only game in the series that works for 3 parts because Midgar is such an important component of the FF7. They don't really have that in other FF games. I would like to see them stick to one battle system which is FF7 Rebirth's system and just keep it like that for future installments.
After what they did with FF7 I don't want them to remake anything, they should just work on emulation with AI upscaling so we can play it on modern hardware and modern OS in modern resolution.
I want more remakes. Specifically FF1. That game i feel would benefit the most from a remake. But i also dont want it to take almost 10 years to finish. If they do any remake after 7, then they need to keep the scale down and stop with this multi part bs.🙄 They really should use the artstyle from octopath traveler for the earlier FF games. They can keep the scale smaller and update the game for newer consoles. I want to see more games use the 2.5D style that octopath traveler 1/2 used!!
I find it interesting it seems like the fans all want different things. They call franchise dead while it's only on ps5. Glad the games are finally coming to pc. The ports to pc need to be better for all square enix games.

Honestly I don't want Square to remake FF games, they're just going to change the combat away from what I enjoyed about them in the first place. And FF16 was a good game but it felt the least like a real Final Fantasy game and least like an rpg so I'm not sure if I'd want Yoshi to do more of them anyway

15:16 FF16 had a chance of being a goty nominee, the problem with game awards is the people that voted on it are not fans but chairmans, higher ups in companies that is why they purposefully silence Hogwarts Legacy
I don't mind FF16 lost the chance of being GOTY whatever. It's game of throne wannabe with Sweet Baby DEI style woke-ism and then the game doesn't want to even go through with it at the end. What a mess of a story.
15:00 Funny you say that cuz if FF15 didn't sell over a million copies it would have killed the franchise, according to an official press statement, because of what was going on during the 2010s for SQEX and how much money they lost with it etc..
Stupid exclusivity with Sony is like 30% of the big reason why Square's games have low sales lately. SJW DEI woke-ism is another big reason why Square's games have low sales.
no one want ff3 or ff9 the worst selling nonpixel ff game remake. Another FF-III remake haha. Interesting he would pick that one considering that game introduced the summons, and they were very prominent in 16 as well. Maybe he really likes the summons.
The exploration in that game would be incredible, because the first part of the world is on an island and when you finish exploring the island the real world is flooded. Would be a great way to world build and explore the world with some great airships.
@@A203D You're right! I also wonder if the last dungeon would be adjusted as it is notoriously hard. At least I had some trouble with it due to the final boss rush and lack of saving.
ff x and 15 need a remake - ffx for its top tier story, characters and world and 15 for what it was intended to be in the beginning. Such a waste to drop it and had massive potential to be the best
To be bloody honest. There are not as much FF9 fans as the internet wants to make you believe. If you're a long time FF fan since the early 90s, you should've spend hundreds of hours in many FF-Fanbase sites over the whole internet for the past 20+ years. Searching for guides like 100%, perfect savegame or just story related hints, community forum, chatrooms and all that stuff. FF9 never got the highest and beloved reviews, ratings and such except from a very few. To be fair: FF9 got a lot more attention and popularity years after it's release. Don't get me wrong. I love FF9 just like I really enjoy all the FF games from 1 up to 12 but I think there's no need for a remake of FF9 or any FF maingame. Atleast not in the way they did FF7R. Just remaster them with care would be more than enough. ;)
The problem with a final fantasy 9 remake is that it is by far the most depressing of the series. That and it means rendering multiple genocides in high def. I'm not saying it doesn't have its qualities, but I'm saying making it in a modernized way is going to exacerbate all the melodrama and horror. Think about final fantasy 2, it's plot is in many ways just as messed up as nine, but it's barely noticeable because it's an 8-bit title. Now think about the opposite happening when you bring it into the modern era. Yeah, probably not going to end well.
Did he mean ff6 not ff3? Why on earth would anyone want to do a modernized remake of ff1, 2 or 3? They barely have any story at all, blank slate characters and are purely gameplay focused, which is classic turned based final fantasy. A remaked 3 would have a shit story, barely characterized generic characters that literally no one cares about (or ever cared about), and the classic turn based job system gameplay would be completely transformed into some action game instead. I seriously hope he meant ff6. 6 actually has story and characters and good lore, plot, settings and themes and all that. 3 has literally NOTHING to offer to a remake. Quite literally... nothing. If they are actually not going to remake 4, 5, 6 or 9 and randomly remake 3, for absolutely no reason at all, that would be purely, completely retarded on so many levels. Wouldn't surprise me tho. I think it's pretty obvious the next remake should be 6 or 9.. probably 6 is the best choice.
or just continue down the path of slowly putting it into maintenance mode like they have been the last few years, and work on a new FF MMO. But I agree, Yoshi-P needs to focus on one thing before being spread so thin across many projects. BUT we already know CBU3 is working on two new titles outside of XIV so...
FFIX is so overrated, just like VII & VIII imo, but at least VII was bareable for me back in the day. The only ones I feel deserves a Remake at this point would be FFVI & XI, and outside of remakes I'd love to see FFX-3 as Braska's Journey or something akin to that written story for a X-3 minus the Tidus blitzball scene.......And outside of sequels/prequels, I want another FF MMORPG. XIV is starting down the road to maintenance mode like XI as well as it's main story arc(the important one) is finished. The new arc they're trying to start up is already botched, and the engine they're using is starting to show its age/limitations big time. Not gonna argue with the XIV Defender Squad so don't even bother, just as bad as the VII cult(maybe even worse).
Final Fantasy and even Square Enix as they are, will never bounce back from all their failures brought on by FF and a bunch of these shovelware games. The series has an identity problem and Square can't seem to stop milking Final Fantasy 7 which is just sad. That's literally all they're known for. They make these unrealistic expectations hoping that their games would sell 10 million units really fast like how The Legend of Zelda, Elden Ring, Pokemon, and a few other games have done. PlayerEssence did a recent video on FF's struggles and he's absolutely right with what he talked about. Even YongYea did a really good video on it as well. Also, when you look at games like Xenoblade Chronicles, Pokemon, Persona, Dragon Quest, The Mana series, The Trails series, etc, or even indie games like Sea of Stars which is inspired by classic SNES and GBA JRPGs, they all stay true to their Japanese roots and classic gameplay roots and the fans that love their classic style of gameplay will buy them. They DO NOT deviate from their formula or alienate the fans trying to change into something they are NOT suppose to be. Final Fantasy is literally a dead series that can't stay Japanese and go back to traditional roots and be more "niche" again. Also, we don't need any FF remakes. Just make some new RPGs!
There are people on the other side of the fence who feel like final fantasy evolved. All these other franchises have not. Sales aren't everything when it's locked to one system. They are waiting for it to come to pc or xbox. 13 and 15 weren't exclusive. Turning 7 remakes and 16 to exclusives was a bad idea. People overreact because of corse sales are bad. You sell to one platform, and nintendo Switch is the only platform where exclusives sell. They charge less and gain more in bulk sales. Sony charges more and sells less software. Leading to people waiting for sales or not even using their ps5 to play games. They bought the system, but it collects dust.
6 is getting remade if there is another remake not 9 you guys keep acting like the made-up rumors from triggered FF7 haters are true...they're all lies made by LIARS trying to manifest and steal the next remake from 6
I think FF has been going down hill since the X-2. X was still pretty good. Sequels and spinoffs of 7 killed a lot of love for FF7 for me. and that was my FAVORITE Game when I was a Kid. 12 was ok. 13 for me sucked!. boring, and more sequels. 14 had a HORRIBLE start. 15 was Yamura's 10 year shit show of a project. Not even the full story in the Base game. You NEEDED the DLCs to make sense of it all. FF7 remake... I hate the changes. they added and padded fluff to everything. I hate the time Janitors or whatever the hell they are. I wanted the FF7 Story with Today's graphics, Fill some plot holes... Not Make tons more Plot Holes!! So FF has been in the shitter for a WHILE. 16 and Rebirth are exceptions. with more then a decade of crap before it.
That's not true. Initially they actually reported that ff16 was selling according to expectations. Then that slowed down a little, and people immediately took it as FF16 not selling well. Which wasn't true. But boy does media like to push clickbaity headlines anyway. In the sales report, if I remember correctly, 16 is never pointed out individually as not having sold well. It's the HD department as a whole that has lost money, and they've had a BUNCH of non ff related flops. Rebirth does sadly get a mention in the report, though.

Kick Sweet Baby and any similar company out of your buisness. Fire any of those woke studios. Pump more money into FF14 which consistently has a rabid loyal fanbase feeding a subscription all desperate for content and support. For the love of god stop making grand impossible expectations for sales and "lying" to shareholders who act like little bitches the second those expectations aren't met. FFS lowball things more into the realm of realism. Selling MILLIONS of copies worldwide should not be a bad thing ever. Also if you want max sales, ditch the exclusives. They need to realize even when it eventually does go multiplatform... all the hype on the initial launch is GONE. Like I couldn't care less about FF16 now despite wanting to play it massively during the original launch. I got other games to play that didn't make me way over a year to buy them. I moved on, and the hype is never going to come back. I'll buy it eventually sure, but I'm in no rush as you've already made me wait over a year to play it anyways.

I'm so upset that 9 is the front runner with the fans. It's not a bad game but I'm so much more infatuated with the ideal of FFX Remake or X-3. I'll buy anything associated with it.
I will take a ff6, ff8, ff9 remake before 13. Wtf you can play 13 in 4k on pc.😂
@eyezfrfx4985 9 was never in the conversation until remake for 7 was announced cause the hardcore 9 fanbase has an aspect to it that hates 7 it triggered them to try to make up fake rumors and trailers to manifest this game into reality
The discussion was always between 6 and 7 for a remake so 6 should be next if there is another FF remake project
@@brucey5585 I think they meant FF10-3 as in a sequel

a X-3 would be great, it would be even better if Sin came back, it would totally ruin everything we learned from the first 2 games.
Good video, man! I thought your video FF's identity was constructive, real, and positive. Besides, a few other content creators, I feel you have been one of the most realistic yet positive sources out there with FF's current state and Square Enix.
I appreciate the kind words. I never really know how people will react to videos like that since it can be a bit dicey.
@CuriousCorduroy It’s a touchy subject for sure. A lot of people love FF and have different opinions about it. So there is bound to be some discourse. I thought you handled well though.
Thought I heard there was supposed to be an FFX prequel about Braska's pilgrimage. That would've been cool...
no love for ff8
@@ashe1928 has the most to gain from a remake
8 was amazing and so underrated. Definitely the deepest and heart wrenching multi generational love story of all the ff's. I would love to see it remade.
Favourite final fantasy to me
@ashe1928 imo it has possibly the greatest love story of all time in an RPG
Ff8 is one of my favorite ff but lets be honest it was bad compared to others.
3 was the obvious answer, look at basically everything to do with the crystal tower series, theres so much love for 3 in there
There is nothing obvious about it at all.
@@Tethius1bro I’m not reading a book, the fact you took the time to write all this out in a RUclips comment is absurd, do better next time

Do we keep the chibi aesthetic for FF9 remake or make the characters look realistic?
I would be over the moon to see 6 or 8 get remade in the way that 7 did.
Remake FF1 - 6, FF8-10, FF12-13, and make them all massive trilogies, for a total of 33 games!
FF9 is the highest rated game within the franchise
Final fantasy three would be an amazing remake because of the amount of jobs there are. It really needs to be ps5
He is right, the locations alone are much bigger than 7 and there is so much more going on in it. You are not going to make it modern 3D and have one game.
Thank you.
FF6 remake with modern turn-based combat would be the way to go.
FF9 remake would be super nice~ but I have heart for FF5 with FF16's battle system~
Imagine~ Bartz changing Jobs mid combat like how Clive changes Eikons~
Though of course not a direct 1:1 of the battle system because it would be better if you can use other party members, add substance to equipment, make sense with elemental attribute advantages, no cooldown on skills, more enemies that can counter instead of just getting hammed, and other things that FF16 came short of~
In any case I hope FF gets treated well~
FF7 remake already has pre-made models (landscape, houses, etc) square can just use the models to make a new game more easily. That's how part 2 and part is bigger.
Damn if only these RUclipsrs could be faster than the actual articles
the only FF game I wanna see a remake of is FFXI, it's the one most at risk of becoming genuinely unplayable one day, and it is currently the least accessible game in the series, being PC only and requiring a PlayOnline account and its own subscription service at the same price as its vastly more popular younger brother FFXIV, all for a 20yo MMO missing a lot of modern MMO conveniences and staples. I would love either a FFXI "Offline" like DQX received, or a way to recreate XI within XIV somehow, in order to keep the most overlooked numbered entry alive
the fact they made ffXI purposely unaccessible cause they actually want it to shut down, your not gonna see anything done with it
Personally, I think Final Fantasy is in a good spot. The games are high quality and the Metacritic ratings reflect that. The only problem was the exclusivity deal with Sony, but now that that's gone, there's hope that new FF games in the future will be released on all major platforms from day one and be financially successful again.
Ff8 pleasee
also worth noting among FF7,8,9 and 10, FF9 had the lowest lifetime sales with 5M sales.
If they do any remake after 7, then they need to keep the scale down and stop with this multi part bs.🙄
They really should use the artstyle from octopath traveler for the earlier FF games.
@@raven80wolfx2 i just want FF to stay true to its roots. FF16 was too far off. im also not against games on pc. But thats not the point of my comment..😐
@coreymckee4844 I prefer final fantasy 7 remake combat because you had choices, and 13 had a bad taste in my mouth. If I wanted to spend 30 mins in a boss fight I rather play Monster Hunter.
HD-2D!
@@kevinramirez3134 Yes!! I feel that style would fit the original 6 games so well. Any games set after FF6, they can keep the style from FF7R. But anything before FF7, use the 2.5D style.👍🤩
Visions of Mana is what FF9 remake should look like.
Please go with the XII its the best of em all ❤
Its time for FF9 remake
Honestly I don't want Square to remake FF games, they're just going to change the combat away from what I enjoyed about them in the first place. And FF16 was a good game but it felt the least like a real Final Fantasy game and least like an rpg so I'm not sure if I'd want Yoshi to do more of them anyway
8 had so much potential . But some things on it made it not very enjoyable in my opinion . I have started it many time but never finished it . But always had so much potential
4 or 6 remade in HD with UE5 would be AWESOME!!!! Could even make 2 games outta 6 light and ruin (iykyk)
Or remade in HD-2D like Octopath Traveler and Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake. People would buy it that way.
15:16
FF16 had a chance of being a goty nominee, the problem with game awards is the people that voted on it are not fans but chairmans, higher ups in companies that is why they purposefully silence Hogwarts Legacy
I don't mind FF16 lost the chance of being GOTY whatever. It's game of throne wannabe with Sweet Baby DEI style woke-ism and then the game doesn't want to even go through with it at the end. What a mess of a story.
FFX REMAKE PLEASE ❤
8 could be the most expanded and improved ff if given a big budget remake the way 7 did. Just make it one game and keeo the atb original combat
i wish but they did already say thats not going to happen
15:00 Funny you say that cuz if FF15 didn't sell over a million copies it would have killed the franchise, according to an official press statement, because of what was going on during the 2010s for SQEX and how much money they lost with it etc..
Final Fantasy has low sales because Square has a stupid exclusive deal with Sony.
Stupid exclusivity with Sony is like 30% of the big reason why Square's games have low sales lately.
SJW DEI woke-ism is another big reason why Square's games have low sales.
Some of us respect loyalty and non slut behavior
no one want ff3 or ff9 the worst selling nonpixel ff game remake. SE enjoy losing money. ffxiv very successful by enix standard but not by sqauresoft standard. ffxiv reboot took 10 year to beat ff11 a ps2 game to became SE most profitable and ff11 is still 2nd most profitable game only playable on pc. please stop drinking SE koolaid. FF6 deserve remake more so then ff9
Ff8 remake would love more but very unlikely
Just remaster them with care would be more than enough. ;)
He kinda already did with the crystal tower raids and shadowbringers
FF3 🎉🎉🎉🎉. BEST FINAL FANTASY OF THE SERIES 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wasn't 3 remade on the DS already? If anything FF11 should get a remake and paired with the ff14 subscription
Yes it was remade on Nintendo DS.

And ff 4
The problem with a final fantasy 9 remake is that it is by far the most depressing of the series.
That and it means rendering multiple genocides in high def. I'm not saying it doesn't have its qualities, but I'm saying making it in a modernized way is going to exacerbate all the melodrama and horror.
Think about final fantasy 2, it's plot is in many ways just as messed up as nine, but it's barely noticeable because it's an 8-bit title. Now think about the opposite happening when you bring it into the modern era. Yeah, probably not going to end well.
FF6 and FF4 need FF7 esc remakes imo.
Yoshi P needs to get XIV back on track before he worries about other games.
or just continue down the path of slowly putting it into maintenance mode like they have been the last few years, and work on a new FF MMO. But I agree, Yoshi-P needs to focus on one thing before being spread so thin across many projects. BUT we already know CBU3 is working on two new titles outside of XIV so...
ff10 is the one. i mean expanding that world would be... INCREDIBLE
FF9 Remake with turn based combat!!! at least as a option haha
I never cared for 9, I got it day one with the beyond useless Strategy guide, not having internet at home that strategy guide was a scam.
Yeah. Square unfortunately messed up that strategy guide with the PlayOnline stuff.
FF6 or FF9 would b fine
They need to fix the pc port
I agree with you 100% i miss Squaresoft. The new games are so rubbish. Bring back Turn based Final Fantasy!

We all know why ff16 didnt get the sale number. Everyone was so hype for it after the demo. "Playstation exclusive."
Ff9 remake multi game. Nah they just milking it at that point
God FF fans are such consumers, no wonder this series is dying

FFIX was the worst PS1 FF. I'd rather see them try to remake Legend of the Dragoon for Sony.

I hope SquareEnix doesn’t remake FFIX. I HATED that game. HATED it!!
i rather have ff8 and ff6 remakes. ff9 gameplay and goofy main character was terrible.
If its Square Enix remaking FF9, I wouldn't expect anything decent. All the talent has long left the studio. Look how they butchered FF7.
What are you talking about?
@raven80wolfx2 exactly what I said. Square Enix is a shadow of Squaresoft the studio that actually made these masterpieces.
@GracelessTarnished in what world would you say final fantasy 7 remake isn't a quality game or 16 for that matter? Kingdom hearts is quality but didn't have so much control with Disney until kingdom hearts 3. It went through its own development hell switching engines.
@raven80wolfx2 well, the audiovisual experience is great but they completely butchered the storyline. Every change they made lessened the experience. And don't say it's for nostalgic reason, the changes are objectively worse. Plus the horrible padding with meaningless fetch quests. There are countless videos on here explaining how bad Remake and Rebirth are.
All the talent now works at MonolithSoft (Developers of Xenoblade).
