Maybe if you're in the trenches or middle of nowhere rural town you might find a better deal for a combo meal of a similar caloric content and type of food, but $12 is actually not very expensive at this point with the way prices for everything have been going up. Also add to that the fact that it's fast food you can grab in a few minutes.

I worked at Wendys in the past. If your bun is dry and hard, it means the sandwich maker toasted the bun early and left it out for a while before actually making the sandwich. We are told to have buns dropped in the toaster during rushes so we don't have to wait for the buns to toast, but if a lazy sandwich maker doesn't care they will use the stale ass buns that have been sitting there for 10+ minutes after the fact. That's the only time I've ever seen the buns from there look and feel like that. It used to make me so angry when people would use crusty ass stale buns for peoples orders. "Would you want to eat that?" I'd ask, but most of the workers in places like that are so overworked, understaffed and become so careless that they enjoy ruining a customers day. It's sad, and I'm glad I left the fast food industry. Nothing but stress, thankless work, and nothing to show for it.
One time this lady got her fried chicken tenders and promptly declared them to taste like they've been fried with dirty oil, and demanded fresh oil for a remake. So we emptied out the fryer then and there, scrubbed out the tank, wiped it and rinsed it down and dropped new oil in there. That was a lie. In fact, the oil had been changed last night and wasn't even a day old. There is no way she could could taste a difference. The manager just dropped them hoes in again and double fried it and waited a while. She ate them hoes.
@@sbrunner69 word, they probably ran out of buns, and no one bothered to pull them from the freezer, so quickly got some buns from the freezer and tried toasting them while frozen, which I have seen before. Many such cases at Wendys.
It's sad how much the fast food industry profits from their overworked young employees yet refuses to provide them a fair, livable wage. It would barely cut into their profits to do so, but I guess when you sell fast food, you're not the kind of person who cares about the quality of life of others.
I almost feel like they do this crap solely for food reviewers. Because I've literally never met a single person in regular life who has asked for a "branded" meal.
Honestly, if you have even an inkling of intelligence you’d be able to discern that many of the promotional special meals are just recycled menu items that already exist.

Things are getting insane when it comes to the pricing on fast food meals. It used to be $5-8 dollars was the norm and it was what it was. A cheap quick meal. With my experience over the past 2 years I've seen fast food jump up to the point of restaurant prices and beyond, but at the same time most of my local and family owned establishments have incurred much lower increases. It's actually cheaper at most times to get a real meal from a restaurant and in many cases I can support a local brand or family owned establishment over giving money to the big chains.
I'm stuck on the 2005-2010 years when the double cheeseburgers were $1.00 and the dollar menu was a real thing! Trade your health for savings but now it's like they are testing us and it seems we are so addicted as a nation that people will pay any price for it!

The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. I'm still surprised that no fast food restaurants have decided to do a SpongeBob with something related to a Krabby Patty feel like it would be a hit with kids and maybe even with adults like myself who watched the show when they were little and still watch the first 3 seasons every now and then .
If I can offer my opinion, I actually like that the eating portion was re-included. I feel like a lot more can be conveyed regarding the quality of an item by the initial gut reaction that occurs during the first bite… as well as the eating process.
I respect this man more with each review. His clarity of purpose. The purity of his ideals. RUclips doesn't deserve him; none of us do. And yet here he is, week after week, elevating we undeserving many. P.S. "Wendy's being" made me choke on my lunch

I agree with the review, without even trying it. $11 for a small is too pricey for fast food. Maybe $7-$8 for a combo like this. And with fresher bun it would be much better I think

A fast food sandwich with sugar pop and fries for $11.50 is completely beyond bonkers. You can go to a local sandwich shop and get a custom-made "healthier" (but certainly has meat if you want) sandwich for the same price. Who on earth spends $12 for a generic fast food meal that is extremely processed and high in salt? Utterly ridiculous. And the bun is even stale? Wendy's is certainly better than some fast food but it blows my mind they think they can charge $12 for this.

For real. I have been getting the hot honey spicy chicken sandwich combo from Wendys for at least 10 months. It's not new, it's not unique, and nothing to do with R&M.
That's about the price of a teriyaki meal that comes with sushi, soup, rice, and meat/seafood at a decent Japanese place near me, this is a joke of a price for a burger and fries.

So, Mr. Brah...I've worked at Wendys for years. I work at the corporate location Columbus, OH (headquarters). I may be able to share a lot of light when it comes to your Wendys info. This Rick & Morty meal actually doesn't really exist. The hot honey was already on the menu as you mentioned. We do not have any promotional signs for this and nobody has ever asked us for it. About a year or 2 ago we had Rick & Morty freestyle drinks sponsored by Coca-Cola, but those are long gone. The hot honey sandwich itself kind of sucks if you ask me. The sauce is actually not bad, it's not one that I use regularly but it does go with a couple things. The pickle chips are down right addicting. The problem with it is the sauce actually. As someone who makes several upon several of these everyday...I'm so tired of finding hot honey sauce everywhere. You can find it on my clothes, in my hair, just everywhere. See, the hot honey sauce is very runny, it's not even as thick as actual honey. If they made the sauce thicker this would not be such as bad sandwich to assemble. sidenote: If you're missing your sauce on this sandwich, look under your sandwich. It's so runny that when you put it on the bun it just runs right off. Your bun issue: If they're not busy, don't go. Let me explain: In a store, slow selling items sit in the shelf longer...same principal here. Lets talk about the fries: We recently switched to these "hot & crispy" fries. They have a light breading coating...mainly to try to extend the holding time after they're cooked. The theory is that the breading with lock in heat better. To me personally this change doesn't improve the experience at all. sidenote: It kills me inside when people ask for no salt fries. These fries already are manufactured with so much salt as a preservative that it's just a joke when you ask for this. If you want your fries cooked fresh, honestly...too bad! The fries are cooked, then held for 7 minutes before they're thrown away. Please do not come up and ask us to cook your food fresh, this isn't Olive Garden, you can't get your burger medium rare. We have several customers in line and if we have to stop and make yours special it jams up the whole system. Asking for your food fresh is a good way to get messed up food. Lets talk about the chicken patty itself: So about 5 years ago they revamped the Homestyle Chicken (mainly the breading). This is when they came out with tenders. The breading was changed to match the new tenders. If you ask me...fricken delicious! I'm a huge fan of the Homestyle patties (it's hard to get me to eat anything there after working there so long). They actually came out with sauce to match this breading as well (S'Awesome). Similar to Raisin Cain Sauce, it was also really good. The Homestyle Sandwich (original) was renamed "Classic" about 2 years ago after when the Chic-Fila/Popeyes chicken sandwich wars were going on. They literally just added pickes (chic-fila inspired) to the Homestyle, and called it Classic. Wait, I just noticed something...they didn't change the coke in the freestlye, and the sandwich maker gave you a hard bun...your wendys is a bum wendys...DO BETTER
Wendy's has such a weird menu to navigate. They have this new meal with small fries and drink at $11.50, yet you can get the 4 for $4. Is the chicken sandwich really worth around $9 to people?

cooked by a machine, frozen and microwaved to perfection...... .I just ate a Brooklyn deli-style 12" Italian sub, packed with meat....smothered in shredded lettuce tomatoes, onions, oil, vinegar, mayo, and provalone for 9 bucks.....and I watched the guy make it....at a mom and pop deli in NJ.....you can still get such things, but I wonder for how much longer...
I work in a private owned diner and our supply chain has been cut dramatically and were nothing but apathetic to everyone we can be but we still have hundreds of dollars in business a day lost due to lack of supply lately. I think all restaurants are
As of now, I'm not seeing Wendy's branding these as Rick and Morty Meal at Wendy's near me (northern illinois), but you can buy the sandwich/combo meal and choose either a spicy, regular OR grilled chicken breast. really hammers home that they've not made anything special about this.
It’s on the app, but there’s nothing Rick and Morty about it other than the name. Shame McDonald’s didn’t want to partner with them. Could have made a Szechuan sauce sandwich or something.

I'm a single guy and a lifelong fast food lover. I don't go anymore. The skyrocketing prices and plummeting quality is a pure insult. They've driven me to actually cooking food.
I kept checking for a new video, and after a week I thought the Papa John's protein bowl crap sheared you away from more reviews! Happy to see you're back reviewbrah! I had this meal, and my bread was disgusting. I took the chicken off and ate it without the bread so in my opinion, it is not worth the price to have half the sandwich editable. A fast food sandwich with sugar pop and fries for $11.50 is completely beyond bonkers. You can go to a local sandwich shop and get a custom-made "healthier" (but certainly has meat if you want) sandwich for the same price. Who on earth spends $12 for a generic fast food meal that is extremely processed and high in salt? Utterly ridiculous. And the bun is even stale?
Wendy's is certainly better than some fast food but it blows my mind they think they can charge $12 for this.

Wendy’s has been declining after Dave Thomas passed away 20 years ago (RIP) and original downtown Columbus, Ohio location abandoned 15 years ago.

So, Mr. Brah...I've worked at Wendys for years. I work at the corporate location Columbus, OH (headquarters). I may be able to share a lot of light when it comes to your Wendys info.
This Rick & Morty meal actually doesn't really exist. The hot honey was already on the menu as you mentioned. We do not have any promotional signs for this and nobody has ever asked us for it. About a year or 2 ago we had Rick & Morty freestyle drinks sponsored by Coca-Cola, but those are long gone.
The hot honey sandwich itself kind of sucks if you ask me. The sauce is actually not bad, it's not one that I use regularly but it does go with a couple things. The pickle chips are down right addicting. The problem with it is the sauce actually. As someone who makes several upon several of these everyday...I'm so tired of finding hot honey sauce everywhere. You can find it on my clothes, in my hair, just everywhere. See, the hot honey sauce is very runny, it's not even as thick as actual honey. If they made the sauce thicker this would not be such as bad sandwich to assemble.
sidenote: If you're missing your sauce on this sandwich, look under your sandwich. It's so runny that when you put it on the bun it just runs right off.
Your bun issue: If they're not busy, don't go. Let me explain: In a store, slow selling items sit in the shelf longer...same principal here.
Lets talk about the fries: We recently switched to these "hot & crispy" fries. They have a light breading coating...mainly to try to extend the holding time after they're cooked. The theory is that the breading with lock in heat better. To me personally this change doesn't improve the experience at all.
sidenote: It kills me inside when people ask for no salt fries. These fries already are manufactured with so much salt as a preservative that it's just a joke when you ask for this. If you want your fries cooked fresh, honestly...too bad! The fries are cooked, then held for 7 minutes before they're thrown away. Please do not come up and ask us to cook your food fresh, this isn't Olive Garden, you can't get your burger medium rare. We have several customers in line and if we have to stop and make yours special it jams up the whole system. Asking for your food fresh is a good way to get messed up food.
Lets talk about the chicken patty itself: So about 5 years ago they revamped the Homestyle Chicken (mainly the breading). This is when they came out with tenders. The breading was changed to match the new tenders. If you ask me...fricken delicious! I'm a huge fan of the Homestyle patties (it's hard to get me to eat anything there after working there so long). They actually came out with sauce to match this breading as well (S'Awesome). Similar to Raisin Cain Sauce, it was also really good. The Homestyle Sandwich (original) was renamed "Classic" about 2 years ago after when the Chic-Fila/Popeyes chicken sandwich wars were going on. They literally just added pickes (chic-fila inspired) to the Homestyle, and called it Classic.
Wait, I just noticed something...they didn't change the coke in the freestlye, and the sandwich maker gave you a hard bun...your wendys is a bum wendys...DO BETTER

.I just ate a Brooklyn deli-style 12" Italian sub, packed with meat....smothered in shredded lettuce tomatoes, onions, oil, vinegar, mayo, and provalone for 9 bucks.....and I watched the guy make it....at a mom and pop deli in NJ.....you can still get such things, but I wonder for how much longer...

As of now, I'm not seeing Wendy's branding these as Rick and Morty Meal at Wendy's near me (northern illinois), but you can buy the sandwich/combo meal and choose either a spicy, regular OR grilled chicken breast. really hammers home that they've not made anything special about this.
