She's had another kinda long run this year that lasted for 6-7 months and rumor has it she'll be coming back once again for the Royal Rumble. She's nearly 50 and she barely looks like she's aged at all in the last 17 years, not just in terms of appearance but how she moves in the ring, she's pretty much the same she was in 06.

This video is a bit outdated now. Trish returned earlier this year and was a full-time competitor again for a few months in mid-2023. She acted as a babyface at first, but she betrayed Becky Lynch and turned heel, and my God, she did an amazing job as a heel. It lasted until September 3, when she lost to Becky in a steel cage match, and has taken a hiatus since then.

Something that the video didn't cover(It probably came out before) is that she recently had a storyline with Becky Lynch that was pretty well recieved.
Also on your question of intergender matches, I don't think they ever happen on TV anymore, but in the indies they can and do happen. A buddy of my wrestles for a few different indie companies, and he's had women approach him a few times about wanting to work with and against him, and a few of them he's obliged, and a few of them just didn't quite work out. He's done I think 4 male vs female matches at this point. Most of the time it's equated to a strength vs speed angle, or like the girl using smart tactics to win matches, but it's usually pretty dependent on their plan for the match.

You should react to a video by Cultaholic Wrestling titled "The UNBELIEVABLE Legacy Of Wrestling's STUPIDEST Title". Despite the name of the video, the championship it talks about is actually my favorite championship ever because of the ridiculousness and hilarity of the lineage that it's had. It is a prime example of wrestling being anything you want it to be and not needing to be taken as seriously as some people do. Hope you can see this and react to that video because I think you'd enjoy it a lot.

"she could just say no" unfortunately saying no to vince mcmahon, generally meant you would be at least off tv for some time, if not just fired, or punished and humiliated even more some other way. i am hopeful this is one tradition that "Triple H" (Paul Levesque) doesn't continue now that he's running things.

This video is older. Trish has since come back and had a pretty memorable heel run, some of the best work of her career IMO. Trish isn't the women's wrestling GOAT to me, I think she has been pretty vastly surpassed as a performer by modern women wrestlers across the globe, but her contributions to the industry based on the barriers she broke and the standards she set cement her spot as a pro wrestling and women's sports legend.

    • @Malysari
      @Malysari 10 месяцев назад

Yeah, I agree. Even back then, I was more impressed by Victoria and Molly Holly. But Trish and Lita were great and broke barriers. But the Four Horsemen and Io, Mayu, and Kairi have done so much, not to mention so many others.

Bunny, the "Hardcore Championship" was basically the precursor to the "24/7 Title", but with higher expectations on weapons being used. Anyone (in WWE, of course) could bring a referee to start a match "anywhere, anytime" (as the Kayfabe rules went). But it was not limited to just male wrestlers. Male or female, if you could get the 3-count.... you could win the championship.
As far as I can remember, only one female wrestler actually won a "men's championship".... that being Chyna, who won the Inter-Continental Championship from Jeff Jarratt. While she didn't hold it for long, she is the only woman that I can remember to actually not look "phony" in holding something like that. She was a legit "men's sized" female wrestler, who could go "toe to toe" with many of them.
Also, the "violence" of men v women was really a precursor to real competition between genders in certain circumstances. Because WWE was scripted, they could get away with it back then. Nowadays, it's pretty one-sided in the opposite direction (and frankly, I don't like that)... in that a woman can attack a man, but he can't do anything about it except run away and look weak.
Being real for a moment, if a woman wants to "throw hands" against a man... fine. But she better be confident that she can catch those hands when he defends himself. Because everyone has the right to defend themselves against a threat, to the point of ending the threat against them. Police call it "acceptable use of force", meaning that once the threat against you is over, you have to stop using force. I'm in favor of that. If a woman attacks me, I'll defend myself and not feel bad about it. But I won't "take it to the extreme", either. Once the threat is no longer there, I'm walking away or if necessary, I'll render aid. Just like I would do with a man.
The terms "Don't start nothing, won't be nothing" and "F around and find out" both come to mind. Anyone (male or female) can say whatever they want to me, and I won't hit first. But if THEY hit first.... I'll hit last (or go down trying). Equality doesn't have limits.
You can't smack someone, then run away yelling, "You can't hit me! I'm a GURL!" By the same token, I don't believe that you can hit first and then claim "self defense", when YOU started it.
I'm all in favor of equality, in all its forms. Gender, race, beliefs, whatever category you want to use. I do my best to treat everyone equally, and fairly.

Trish is my favorite Female Pro Wrestler. Had a crush on her in my teenage years; I still have a crush on her. She had the best feuds against Jazz, Molly Holly, Victoria, Lita and Mickie James. She actually started her pro wrestling training six months before she signed with WWE at Sully's Gym training with Ron Hutchinson(who trained Edge, Christian, Beth Phoenix and Gail Kim to name a few). She learned and trained more on road with Fit Finlay.
She recently had a lengthy run with WWE and work a program(feud) with Becky Lynch where she was the heel. The first time since 2004-2005. I'll admit I was against her working heel because she is an excellent babyface. But it was worth it for the Cage Match she and Becky had at Payback 2023. The match is a must watch.
Trish gets an ovation from the crowd after the match despite being the heel. You'll have to look for that part on WWE's RUclips as that wasn't shown on the broadcast.
I do believe she'll have another lengthy run in 2024, I think she is currently filming Canada's Next Top Talent at the moment.

Trish is the true queen of the ring! Other than Charlotte Flair! Yes Charlotte has won more titles than Trish, but does anyone see Charlotte getting down on all fours legs and barking like a dog? No, I don't see it, and not just because times have changed, and in wwe everything is PG now, but because he would never do it. Even when they try to give her a face character, Charlotte doesn't know how to "turn off" her heel character, so many times it's incomprehensible what WWE wants her to do. Trish is superior to Charlotte on every level in the ring. Charlotte, as talented as she is, has her surname to thank.

@@Bunnymon Honestly speaking as a man, I became passionate about wrestling by watching men's matches, especially those where there were athletic people (Rey Mysterio, etc.), then I discovered the world of women's wrestling, and I started following it, Trish was one of the first that I saw. Initially I liked his Theme Song, and in my language I sang it in a decidedly vulgar way, changing the words of the song! 😂 I'm passionate about wrestling, and I know that these are parts agreed before the matches, as it must be if they don't want it to be a street fight, but despite everything it must be entertainment. Obviously from when Trish started to now, women's wrestling has changed. Now they have more space, and certainly to change roles, from heel to face, they don't need to be humiliated... in my opinion Trish is the true queen of the ring, for what she has done in her career... I'm not saying that Charlotte may one day be the queen of the ring, but at the moment she's a rung or two below.

Trish actually returned earlier this year to have a feud with Becky Lynch, which got wrapped up this past summer. Said feud also served to elevate another rising talent, Zoey Stark (who's currently one of the top contenders for the women's championship). That's our gal, continuing to foster the next generation! 😉
Oh, and about the hardcore title, it had a stipulation tied to it at the time that let it be defended 24/7 anytime, anywhere, against anyone, so it was basically a unisex title, heh.

That video is a very biased opinion piece. That match didn't go "wrong" at all, since Minoru Suzuki was just doing what he was told to do (Asuka booked the match), so it went exactly as planned. She did it to prove a point, she doesn't want to be seen as a "female wrestler", since as far as she is concerned there is absolutely no difference between what she does in the ring and what the men do, and she is just a wrestler, period. It was a deliberate show of protest against the restrictions placed on women in the wrestling industry (especially in Japan).

The women division nowadays is in a whole new level and there are many women that are better performers and athletes than her. To name few Charlotte Flair, Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belaire , Becky Lynch etc..

Yes, but the same is true of the men. That doesn't lessen the accomplishments of wrestlers who paved the way. Stone Cold Steve Austin's matches were (in Austin's own words) "like watching wrestling in slow-motion compared to modern WWE". Trish also proved she can still hang with the current women in that steel cage match against Becky this year. She and Stone Cold are still two of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

Trish Stratus, Lita, Victoria, Mickie James, Molly Holly and the TNA Knockouts kept women's wrestling alive until the mid 2010s when WWE put more effort in
