An “I Quit” match is essentially a bout in which you beat your opponent so severely that they literally have to say “I quit!” into the microphone you shove into their face. That’s the only way you win.

This gives me nostalgia. The only wrestling show I ever saw live was the second ever weekly episode of Smackdown where The Rock and Mick Foley first had a World title #1 contenders match against eachother, then later defended their titles against HHH and Shane. It was my first week of college, Smackdown was filming in town, and a group of other students had an extra ticket and were checking in with anyone who had their dorm door open if they wanted to buy it and join them. It was awesome.

"I don't know who bye is." Lol. That just means that whoever is in that matchup doesn't actually have anyone to compete against. It's basically a freebie win.

What you all forget or don't realize is that Rock was doing double duty when he was a full-time wrestler. Rock's 8 year career= 20 years of Cena's wrestling career, because Rock was working two shows. Raw & Smackdown. Before he was working Smackdown he was doing Raw & Sunday night Heat. When Cena, Ortan and the rest came in After Rock & Austin Raw & Smackdown became rival shows with different Superstars. Rock was the first one to be drafted to Smackdown when the Brand split. So The Attitude Era lasted 97-2002. Rock came at 96- 2004 So when the new era started he already did everything in the most Star packed era in history, and was one of if not the main face of the era before he went to movies fulltime

At the time that Stone Cold and The Rock were full-time active pro wrestlers, Stone Cold was without a doubt the bigger draw and bigger name. It wasn't until Stone Cold was winding down and The Rock was branching out into Hollywood that he would surpass Austin's name around 2003 or so.
Steve Austin's popularity in the business of wrestling was untouchable while he was there.

The BYE on the bracket is just a term that means the other wrestler has no opponent in that particular round so they automatically move up to the next round on the bracket. Take for example the bracket you showed at 12:07 in the first two matches Undertaker had a BYE and Kane had a BYE which meant they both moved up to the next round to face each other. That's why they are already shown on that bracket as a match for the second round. Hope that helps!

Not gonna lie, it kinda sucked sometimes that the Rock was so popular and beloved that people refused to boo him, cuz he was SO good as a heel. Whenever the Rock is able to be a villain, that's when he's in his element. He's always been pretty stale as a babyface to me, but as the Nation Leader, Corporate Champion, or especially Hollywood Rock, he was GOLDEN. Also, what he was doing when he lost that match to the Hurricane that you were shocked at him losing is called "doing the honors". It's basically when an established star loses in a program to a lesser or up and coming star to give them more credibility. It's basically pro wrestling gospel that when a star reaches the top of the mountain, it's their job to put younger, less credentialed talent over like the Rock did with Brock Lesnar, like Roddy Piper did with Bret Hart, and like how Ric Flair did with...basically everyone he ever faced. That's actually part of why people hated John Cena so long, because he didn't use his top spot to put younger, newer talent over. He's definitely gotten better about it in the last 5 years or so, which is why his reception has warmed a bit in recent years.
