    Inspiring , he obviously has massive respect for Dawn French to be so different to his usual ! like him both ways as it happens ,,

    Russell is awesome. Dawn French really should do more of this...there are very few interviewers who seem to get the balance of talking and listening and good questions so spot on.

    you read my mind. I've just finished reading his book, and I nearly cried at the end. He has such a beautiful heart.
    This is the second time I've watched this interview, and I think Im going to go to bed and cry myself to sleep. He is one of the very few people I would like to sit down and have a meal and yack with.

    This is such a fantastic interview. He has such depth and at the same time brings his life forth in his comedy because as he says it is universal. Wow - he is so talented.

    This is genius, getting a fellow comedian to interview a comedian. It just seemed to keep Russell calm and focused. Straight honesty and naturalness. Great stuff. They just seeemed to get eachother in the best way. Love dawn and Russell ❤️❤️

    I thought he was a deep man from seeing some of his stand up. I love the way he's identified at not following what you love, but learning from it and knowing yourself, to the point of being one with the universe. Very cool. :)

  • @HarrySayYouLoveMe
    @HarrySayYouLoveMe 15 лет назад

    i COMPLETELY agree! lots of people i know dont understand him, and think he's just crude and acts camp to get attention. but actually he has a beautifully elequent way of thinking and speaking, and for that he intrigues me. he is so unconventional, and it's just so refreshing to have someone with such a beautiful mind having the confidence to let people know about it.

  • @lulacrazygirl7
    @lulacrazygirl7 16 лет назад

    the last few seconds of the video, where he explains who he seeks approval from seemed so vulnerable and yet so beautiful to me. overall the interview really gave a good look into what goes on in his pretty little head :) if only more people could watch this and find out what he's really all about...

    Watching this you really get a sense for what a great person Russell his. The amount of authenticity and honesty that he speaks with is really quite inspiring. It's quite ironic because his public persona would suggest the opposite, but Russell Brand is actually not only fucking hilarious but also quite an excellent role model

  • @SeagoGuitarist

    i agree with that, i think its what makes people insecure, its what people scared of stereotype or judgment but also scared of themselves and how they act or re-act to people around them and scenarios they find themselves in. I respect russell alot because its obvious he understands that and constantly tries to over come that to be himself and to be genuine i can relate to that alot, it is something thats incredibly difficult to do but worth putting the effort into and is incredibly rewarding =)

    I totally agree with KillerTofu's comment.... it is a little heart breaking... I'm a huge fan of his, I really enjoy his comedy, but it's brief moments like this that really endear him to me. To see how pure and beautiful he still is after everything he's experienced is a great achievement. i would reccommend RE:Brand to anyone who hasn't seen it..the difference between then and now is astounding and I am in awe of how he's managed to come out the other end as such a gentle and lovely human

    About 5 years ago, I went out with friends to a stand-up show in a little pub venue somewhere in London (it was in an area that begins with 'P'...Putney?) and I was surprised and thrilled to discover that Russell Brand (BBBBM,BH&BCs) was part of the line-up. Anyway, as he began his bit (set?) a small spider landed on his arm and he randomly went off on a hilarious tangent about this spider for about 20mins. He is an absolute master of improvisation and sublime ridiculousness.

  • @kathrynew30
    @kathrynew30 15 лет назад

    Yes there are definitely a lot of people who dislike him. Like I got into an argument with this one person about him and my friend really dislikes him, but she has never seen anything that he has done except for the VMAs. I think that if everyone saw him like this, then there would be less hate for him.
    But oh well, we love him and there are so many more fans who love him as well.

    The part where he mentions his various times in rehab etc... I reckon he must've been one of the most interesting people those psychologists had to deal with. His wit is so sharp I think, they'd have to watch what they said. Glad he's doing well for himself atm. Hope he keeps doing comedy well into the future!

    he is amazing, reminds me of the bill moyers interview with Joseph Campbell. Russell has found his bliss and is attractive as a result of it, able to thrive and become successful because he does what he loves. And of course being extremely gorgeous doesn't hurt :)

  • @thescowlingschnauzer
    @thescowlingschnauzer 15 лет назад

    I do. They could focus on the flaws. I find that the stronger a person's personality is, the more people with weak personalities do that as defense mechanism. Russell is self-assured, and those who aren't can't stand that he is and they aren't.

    he's messed up...and i love him cos he's not just a cynical bastard who thinks the world of nothing but himself. He actually analyzes life as opposed to simply living it according to a structured means of control that is defined by the general public and our neuroses.
    i am happy that someone as unusually profound as i consider myself has made it and is making large amounts of people laugh....Honesty is the key.

  • @PeteDohertyIsADrug
    @PeteDohertyIsADrug 16 лет назад

    i believe he acts this way in this interview because he's not in charge and hasn't got a direct audience that he has to address or entertain
    on the radio he acts like this a little, but because he's in charge and the fact it's a comedy entertainment show is at the forefront of his mind, his performing side shines brighter and is more dominant. but this side of him definately seeps through

  • @sanerthanyou
    @sanerthanyou 16 лет назад

    I think he's funny when he's being funny, but when he's being sort of very frank, and serious and honest, i find him much more fascinating because you know that way that his comedy isn't some accident of mad nonsense constantly pouring out of him but the product of something much more articulate.
