The interviewer actually probably knew who he was since this was his promo tour, I heard from someone he generally tells interviewers to pretend as if the character is real if they want the inteview to work better. Seems like the guy understood the assignment lol. He generally doesn't hide who he is for the promos because he's already got the movie ready.
To me, Bruno is the best and bravest comedy ever made, in the sense that the jokes are genius and he risked death several times.
