Stuart Lee's therapist recently wrote a book which included a chapter on Lee. It was quite controversial because it broke the confidentiality between patient and therapist. Apparently Lee has released all cognitive, conative or affective representations of his own identity. In other words, the therapist continued, and in the parlance of psychotherapy, Stuart Lee has let his self go.

Actually really interesting/insightful interview. Good to hear, as a creative person, that there’s no shame in abandoning traditional routes to success if they’re just not compatible with what you do/make. I know a lot of people who could learn from that.
Cali Braxus it’s interesting that you should ask that, because I should imagine the nice black one would be ok with the way Stewart has let himself go, whereas the mad Irish one wouldn’t stand for his nonsense and would punch him.

Ah, fuck off, weaklings, I couldn't watch it even before I knew it existed. Seriously, though, if you came for Stewart Lee, you would've stayed. But you came for entertainment, and, apparently, Jamali ruined it for you because of your extreme intolerance of his speech patterns, so you missed loads of good stuff, especially the mentions of comedians that inspired Lee.

Alienating the public in such a way that at the end they leave the gig feeling at the same time vulnerable, hurt, embarrassed, with an overwhelming feeling that they discovered something exceptional, exited, with a sense of self worth……as long as public is not offended by the performance, every other reaction, even anger, means that it was good!
I sincerely hope that this was broadcasted live on the radio and Stew had grown a beard exclusively for the show, which he'd thought wouldn't be filmed. Classic Stewart Lee!
