When it stuck to the guy's helmet, I thought that was going to give the trick away. I'm surprised they didn't realize the simplicity of this slight of handle.
*sleight of handle
Ah, yes. :)
Oooooh. I get it now. That's simple but works beautifully, the best sort of trick!
simplicity is where the beauty lies in this trick.
If someone cared enough they could review every successful fooler and cross section it with the viewer ratings of the show and see if any correlation lies. Maybe they get a little ignorant from time to time you know?
I just can't handle the magnetism this guy has. Great trick Bernini and congrats! Brilliant.
Good job that's exactly how he did it. Good code words
Yep! And I loved every single little trick he added to the routine
Please elaborate @Chino-Kafu
@@jameseabonn2674 The handle to the mug was magnetic. You can see him manipulate something with the handle at around 5:15
I think there is a second handle added with the cloth. It would also explain how the mug falls, handle down into his hand.
You didn't even need the actual trick at the end - I'd still show up for the entertainment. It's rare for a magician's routine to not sound forced and cheesy. Well done, Sir.
Aw that means a ton! Thank you! glad you enjoyed it

I really appreciate that you shared the tricks with us instead of acting condescending to the audience. We aren't stupid, we know there's gadgetry and sleight of hand going on lol.
This trick is pretty simple and I'm surprised that it fooled them.
Obviously, the cloth changed the atomic structure of the mug to allow the handle to pass through the rope and as it fell clear of the magic cloth the mug returned to a solid state again.
Obviously!
shhhh don't be giving away my secrets out here
the mag had 2 handles. the one with the rope removed (maybe a magnet) . When he freed the mug the handled showed in his hand although it had to be in the opposite side of the mag.
Duh
I had to see it twice to see what you did there, but I finally got a grip on how you handled it the second time around. That was a truly attractive display of a deceptively simple bit of skill in the hand of a master.
well... we're waiting for the explanation you muppet?
I see what you did there. Dude has a magnetic personality for sure
I've seen one guy use much more obvious code that gives the game away. Your code is perfect
@@StevenTwoTwo Glad you approve. It was honestly so well done that it only feels right to give the performance the respect that it deserves. To spell everything out and still hide it so well is stunning, and it seems disrespectful to me to give that a ham-fisted nod if I can avoid it.
The trick is one layer of the joy, and the discovery is another. I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of that gorgeous reveal.
it took me watching it twice on slow mo to grasp it.
Such a great fool, and even better with Penn's rant at the end 😂
If they dont know how it was done they need to be sacked!
Dude that was the best part
The rant is fake. I can't believe people actually buy it. Dear lord.
Nobody's "buying it", it's just fun to watch is all. Jeez, what is it with you people and "it's all fake" obsession? Can you not just enjoy something for 5 minutes? @@CristianKirk
@@lifesbutastumble No, they can't. They're so powerless and ignorant in their day to day lives they have to leap online to "prove" how "smart" and "knowledgeable" they are while exposing themselves as the pathetic losers they really are.
You’ve really got a good handle on things 😊. Some might even say two. Truly magnetic performance.
😂😂😂😂
Yep, that’s what I was thinking. It looks like at 5:12 he spins the mug to hide the real handle in his left palm while he attached the magnetic handle with his right hand.
clever
I think this is right
P&T fooled because they don't know how strong magnets are now a days
This is routine is really special because it becomes even more beautiful once you realize how its done. Each of the first two parts contains a piece of the method used in the end. Even more stunning that you still fooled them. Such a piece of art.
Yeah he really did push his luck with that. A piece coming off and it sticking to the helmet? Just shows how good he was at distracting P&T from what was going on by getting them to focus on the codewords instead
"That was a joke going over his head", nice one! : D
lol thank you!
@@Berninimagic I was surprised the other guy didn't spot the extra piece of rope when you threw it, were you confident he'd be too preoccupied by you waving the mug about?
@@ziwuri it’s actually a classic misdirection technique, more psychology than sleight of hand. Look up “Slydini Paper Balls Over the Head” to see where it originated
@@Berninimagic I love that joke. I know Penn & Teller have a fluffle routine that I'm sure inspired that joke, and for those who know the routine, made it even funnier. A great nod to the inspiration they provided, but also helps to set up the actual trick very well.
Can we just appreciate how daring that is? Having to hide the secret from three different view angles, plus preluding it with all the elements that go into the trick. So many clues, such a simple trick, but damn, so powerful.
I'm surprised neither pen or teller had a handle on this trick, just felt like there was enough for both of them to at one point.
Haha, great use of code words. I am also surprised they did not get it. I'm not a magician, but this one seemed kind of obvious to me.
@@lgeiger
Yeah I can't believe they couldn't unravel such a simple trick. I mean, they just wholeheartedly believed him when he said that the mug couldn't be separated at any point.
it was a knot specifically tied to release when pulled
He didn't lie. that mug couldn't be separated
They likely knew in reality whichever method was used. They have a tendency of letting people through if it helps their career.
That trick was absolutely magnetic!
I really loved how you handled it twice.
Nice job.
1/10.. anyone with 2 brain cells would’ve understood that code. An actual code would’ve been not using any words that exactly match. This is why it takes them a second sometimes to catch on… like for instance they’d never say “magnetic” they say “this trick is going to stick with us for a long time unless we pull the memory out of our heads really hard.” He’d say it better but that’s the general way he does it. It’s only enough words so that when they think of the similarities they can go “ahhhh okay yeah he knows I used magnets”..
Wow, what an amazing trick. Not only the excellent and friendly and funny presentation, but also that you announced to talk in code and kept that truth until the end and fooled P&T without them noticing the code. The red herring is in fact a sign and then you announce "a different science" and it did not stick to them. Fantastic :)
Haha i’m so glad you enjoyed it
Oh my goodness, I watched it again after reading this comment, and my opinion changed from "it's quite excellent" to "this is truly brilliant!" 🫡
@@glenm99there’s quite a few hidden things in there :)
oh I had no idea *HE* was talking in code! :O
I never care if I know how it's done or not, I just care if it's fun to watch. And it was. Well done, very entertaining.
I love all the jokes you made. Excellent banter
thanks! I'm glad you liked that. It was my favorite part too
I love this type of magic trick. Simple yet so effective and adding the 'how it works' to the start was fantastic too. Reminds me somewhat of Paul Daniels when he used to do magic tricks.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Great comment! It was a bit reminiscent of PD!
You looked so genuinely surprised and happy at the end it was like the icing on the cake. Made me happy just to watch that joy.
Aw thanks so much!
Obviously the trick was awesome too, but that had already been said so many times and so much better I could put it.
@@zzpazi I appreciate that though!
Unbelievable job, one of my favorite routines from the show!
aw that means a lot! thank you!
Your energy is infectious. Such a joy to watch you do something you unabashedly love.
This was a great performance! Such a nice homage to P&T's work, and there is something extra magical about how the act leaves you with a better handle on how magic works but still manages to pull off an impressive trick at the end!
I’m really glad you enjoyed it!
Great code words, I was thinking the exact same thing!
It looks like at 5:12 he spins the mug to hide the real handle in his left palm while he attaches the magnetic handle with his right hand.
@@matt0833 Still a risk of seeing 2 handles out the end of the yellow cloth, but I agree that it does look like a magnet being twisted off. It was also misdirection covered by the lead up that each step of the way was covered by simple ways tricks can be performed.
Fantastic work!
Really cool trick. First the funny comedic act and then ending in a "simple" trick which still fooled them. Beautiful!
thank you! so glad you enjoyed it!
You've handled it very well on all sides
ha thank you!
@@Berninimagic I also would like to add on, Bernini has a very magnetic personality. Congrats on your win!!
@@VancouverMagic Is that some sort of code? Do you think he used magnets?
Sure, but they're not part of the mug or the rope. Confused yet? :)@@objectshowfan362
I thought he might have had a cramp on stage there.
I loved the way you handled the mug for the last trick...
Took me a second, but then it "clicked".
@@oldfredbearAh, I get it.
Simple trick he breaks the handle off.
I’m curious how the mug works considering “no mug switch” and the participant wasn’t able to see anything odd about it.
There’s still a handle
This was absolutely brilliant!! Such a dope performance! I love this!
dude thank you so much!!
You have a magnetic personality! Very well done.
If Penn and Teller could examine the mug or rope i would be suprised. But they didn't. We were not fooled. (Edit: i love slight of hand skills but this wasn't slight of hands)
I think he would have gladly let them examine the rope or mug, but not the yellow cloth. There was sleight of hand in a couple of bits (and magnetic assistance) but I don't want to ruin the trick by saying anymore. It was very well done
They definitely can examine that mug :) @@bernhardlagetuin
@@mattsohl Yeah, they can examine the mug and the extra handle, haha.
He covered the real handle from the time he took it from the assistant and yes, added a magnetic handle and pulled it off during the drop. The drop reveals the handle on the lower side. It didn't have time to turn 180° from the drop point. The extra handle was hidden in the cloth. Great trick.
Congratulations! You've now been added to the fool us foolers' rank. You've handled this really well, and this can never be taken away from you, no matter what sides the people on the comment will be on.

Excellent trick and delivery, but the truly priceless moment is your face at the end. Yep, you did fool them, and fooled them well!
one of the coolest and well executed performances ive seen in a while on this show, hats off

Absolutely loved this. Congrats on the win.
I love every single little trick you added to the routine :) Not sure whether it’s your magnetism, but you handled the show pretty well, I couldn’t see anything and was also fooled :)
Saw this at my school the other day and loved it. Cool to see it on this show.

Awesome to see your growth and can’t wait to see more 💪
thanks so much! means a lot
Congratulations! Awesome routine. Fun and entertaining! ❤
thank you so much!
I just can’t handle your magnetism…! Well done 😉
Seeing the volunteers walk off stage w the helmet cracks me up 😂😂
That was great! I was totally attracted by the way you handled that last mug. I can without a doubt say you were not lying about a mug swap, or any other means. The best part about it, was you showed them how you were going to do the trick before doing it.
"you were not lying about a mug swap" Even if he wanted to lie about there being a swap or not, he can't. Part of the process of the show is explaining how it is done to a magic consultant that is part of the Fool Us crew and they listen to Penn and Teller's deliberations and it is their ruling that determines if it's a fool or not. So even if he lied, the consultant would overrule the fool.
@@GilesWells you took it too literally. You must have been fooled.
@@Fireblades212I think that person got stuck and didn't engage both ears so he could avoid the face palm and hide his shame!
I was impressed at how quickly and confidently you held the mug between your chin and chest. Like surely if it was ever going to fall to the stage…
that was the real handle.
I loved Penn getting excited trying to try guess! He felt so happy ^^
Great routine start to finish!

So glad you enjoyed it :)
Amazing Bro... Congrats!

thanks so much! appreciate it!
Much love ❤❤❤
Such a lovely act. There is a lot of beauty in the methods of so many tricks and I always appreciate a trick that lets the audience in on some methodology. I also appreciate a bit of an homage to one of the rope acts P&T have done.
The final effect is super well done and extremely clean. I don't think there is enough to glean the method, from the footage alone. There are some potential leads, but nothing concrete. Really lovely effect and execution. I look forward to figuring out the method at some point.
You'll get a handle on it eventually!
There definitely is, but it was a very fun act. At 4:47 he reveals part of what makes this work, and at 5:11 watch how he handles the mug before he puts the rope through.
I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
@TheGoatFish And actually at 5:18 you can see the real handle under his thumb right before the camera cuts to a different angle. (Probably cut because they realized it happened to be the perfect angle to see the handle through the small gap between his hand and the mug).
Not to take anything from the trick, this was amazing. I especially love the clues he sprinkled in the routine. It was a risky move but made it that much more memorable when it succeeded.
Awesome!! Mind Blown
Thanks so much! Appreciate it so much!
Penn is always so funny 😂 they’re a great duo
Loved your show at RE Congress today, well done! And glad you performed this trick, it's excellent.
so glad you enjoyed it! thanks!
5:05 he reaches into the box to get his cloth and picks up a 2nd "fake" blue handle hidden in the cloth, then threads the rope through the fake handle while hiding the real handle under his thumb pointing it towards his body @ 5:20
@ 5:55 he is holding the fake handle and rope then drops at 5:57 where the real handle is directly pointing down, the opposite from where he is supposedly holding it on the rope, then lets go of the rope and keeps a hold of the fake handle under the cloth, holding the cloth like it's empty.
This was a brilliantly executed and impressive performance
And I think it's a strong enough magnet that can hold the cup on the rope, but still weak enough that he can squeeze his finger forcibly to pull it out
If this is true, the trick is even more impressive, because he's shown us how it's done. In the first trick he attaches the mug to a fake part of the rope; in the final trick he attaches the rope to a fake part of the mug. Not to mention that if magnets are involved he pretty much showed them openly during the second trick.
What a magnetic performance. Truly handled it well
Good job young man. Excellent composition.
Thanks so much!
You are so smart. Congratulations my friend!
looking forward to an explanation for this at some point in the future! very good performance
This is one of the best presentations I've seen. It's up there with Asi Wind's. Congrats on your magic career and hope to see you continue to do great things!
woah, that's high praise. Asi is a legend. Thank you!
Let's go!!!! Congrats Giancarlo! I had to slow it down and zoom in and still didn't see anything. See you at Source and Summit!!
Hey thank you so much! Appreciate it
Ahhh. The mystery of the enameled metal cup. Brilliantly simple. Well played.
Very entertaining. I love to speculate and guess how a trick is done. Overall when it comes to magic I don't necessarily want to know how it's done but sometimes it's even more impressing when you understand how clever it was to come up with the idea or how much work and practice it takes to pull it off.
Great job, you had me drawn in the entire time! This would be such an adorable show, especially for kids! Us adults can’t figure it out, the kids would think it was real magic, haha! So happy for your success my dude!
thank you so much!!
Great to finally see an original and clever presentation on this show. So many of the acts are routine with boring setups and uninteresting patter.
Thanks! I worked hard to make it something fans of the show would hopefully appreciate.
Really great a wonderful. I had some idea at the end, and had to check again to see, how a professional can handle a magnificent mug
and, yes... the helmet helped me to stick to my answer... i think i figured it out... but that doesn't make it an less impressive...
clever method! Delightful
glad you enjoyed
Such a magnetic personality
I love how you gave the solution away with the red cup!
This!
Because it's a metal cup?
@@R-Lee-because there's an extra magnetic handle

What an interesting way to hold a mug at the end...
So good! "I'm going to show you how a magic trick works". I love that you literally did, its so clever. Both of the two pervious mug on rope sections of the act weren't just there for entertainment but actually "show you how the magic trick works". Wow I'm mind blown.
Thanks so much dude!! Glad you enjoyed it
Very Good!

can't believe penn and teller didn't get this one! But what a great act, one of my favourites of the entire show
I came here after Ray Lum gushed about this trick and performance, and I wasn't disappointed. Well done!
5:38 those two guys saw the extra handle. I'm dead. 😂😂
Nice slight of hand with the mug! i saw what you did there, but very late and only when watching a second time in slowmo.
Great routine!
thanks so much! appreciate that
Funny and brilliant! Fool or no, it's great.
Thank you so much
Your effect was brilliant, so glad you won the trophy 😊👏😊👏👏👏😊😊
Thank you so much 😀
I only watched it once and i am surprised you fooled them. As soon as you grabbed the cloth to block the view i was suspicious as to what else may be in it. But the way you palmed the handle made it even more clear to me. You definitely have a magnetic personality and you have a handle on things. I would guess the hardest part is to prevent noise of metal on magnet. Did you use something to soften the sound? Or was it just fine motor skills at work? Good performance none the less.
This felt like they knew what the trick was and played into the act and the code at the end. Gimmick, by the move needed to drop it off, especially since he used rings before, but the whole act was so good, so fun and clean, guy deserved that trophy. Great tribute act. ❤
I got to see this trick live and it still dies not seize to amaze me!
aw man i'm glad you got to see it live!!!
Amazing how the whole trick revolves around a gimmicked rope, but in the end the mug being the star of the show really clicked. ;) Beautiful.
Super entertaining and engaging
aw thank you so much!
My guess is at 5:10 he rotates the cup to hide the real handle and attaches a breakaway handle that was concealed in the cloth. When he lowers the cup, he does it by the lip of the cup, not the handle so it doesn't break away early.
When he drops the mug at 5:52 the handle is facing downwards.
That is exactly what I believe he did as well. Magnetic handle perhaps, but you can clearly see him rotate the mug before he puts the rope through the handle he added.
You can actually see the real handle at 5:18 just before the camera cuts to another angle. His thumb is resting on the real handle and the small gap between his hand and the mug exposes it.
Something you'd likely never notice in person unless you happened to be at the perfect angle like the camera was.
