He does a switch later at 4:18. The whole act is very clever: He draws over the signature so that he can easily forge signed cards. Then halfay in the trick he does this switch. Then the "pause" is just misdirection, to make you forget about what happened. The fact that some seemingly random cards are face up, plus that he flips the kings and another random card, makes you think it's a normal deck, and marries well with the chaotic style. ive watched this routine many times and it never fails to entertain and blow my mind but despite the insane level of skill in this act the best moment by far was when he said its your life and waved to dani daoritz.
Ya know, there are some tricks I want to learn how they were done, but this? I never wanna know how this was done, so each time I rewatch it I am amazed again and again.
As someone who you would call a casual magic enjoyer, Markobi and this routine has to be favorite. It gives the illusion that it's incredibly easy and I could do it. But from what I've learned from other people, this is really technical and takes years to master. Most of us let our guards down the moment we see or hear him. What I like about this whole concept is that it proves a great saying and it goes: "looks can be deceiving". Thank you, champ, for your magic. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Teller had so many moments during this performance that had him in disbelief lol. The end was great, but his look to Penn at 2:35 was one of “this guy is the real freaking deal.” Bravo Markobi.
Chaotic rutines are sooooooo hard to pull it out and make them work, not to mention, having two very experienced magicians right next to you watching. Damn!
Having seen this at FISM, it blew my mind then, and still does. But, to have Penn switch on you, and still land the fish... my oh my, even better :) Literally, world class!!
So good, Lennart Green is preemptively rolling over in his grave. Just an astonishing performance. The controls and misdirection are just at the tip top of the trade. Bravo, Mark! 👏👏👏
Yes he very much is, I’m aware. I must have misspelled preemptively and my phone thought that I was trying to say preeminently. Appreciate you for pointing that out so much. All fixed now. 🫡
I guess his "uncle" (which is "not realy his uncle, it's for the script") like the kudos of this FISM act feom markobi 🎉 You know the only that shows him "how to find kings" 😂 My only question is : how much geeky reference/kudos to other closeup magician is there here in front of us, 5 ? More ?
I don't know you, but it is pretty rare to see in P and T show such standing ovation from the audience. I watched the fism contest couple years before and seeing it live again, I thought "Damn, he will get them good" :) Merci bcp Mr Markobi. J'espere que cette video va rajouter beaucoup de visibilité et de nombreux contracts :)
Markobi absolutely crushed it on Penn & Teller Fool Us! His performance was world-class, and the way he left them speechless was amazing. It's not every day you see someone fool the masters like that-true champion-level magic! Huge respect for the skill and creativity!
I know enough about magic to understand a lot of how the tricks are done. They're still amazingly executed but you respect the craft because you know how hard it is to master. Sometimes, though, people like Mark come along and make you question absolutely everything you know about magic. The man is a genius. The whole act is so smart and well crafted it's impossible to not simply get lost in the spectacle and forget to analyse his techniques. Just, mind blowingly good.
Being the world champion of magic is clearly not a joke. Amazing. Been waiting for this and I'm so happy for all those who are seeing this for the first time. It's awesome isn't it. Welcome to the Markotrain
it is so refreshing that you didnt give away the result in the title. i understand why most people do. but its much more enjoyable when you don't. This act was incredible. Also i loved that comment "can I change cards" "its your life"
There is nothing better than watching masters of their craft being entertained like the rest of us. Teller is a master of close up/slight off hand. To fool him right in front of his face is absolutely amazing. The looks on Teller's face throughout this routine are so telling of this guy's talents, but this look 2:34 from Teller to Penn tells you everything you need to know. It says both, "this guy is good" and "how the hell did he just do that?" Plus the audible "OH!" and jumping out of his seat at the end. Sooooo good.
I had the chance to met him in 2021 at the French Magicians Convention (FFAP). He's a really nice and chill guy. Congrats for your trophy. On est fier d'avoir un magicien comme toi :)
The deck switch at 4:18 is so smartly done 😊 in the previous pack, markobi was showing that all the cards were different, then switched with a pack that contains few cards side up and lot of signed cards…but how Markobi managed to put the remaining 3 K at the position 5 of each pack in such a chaotic way is simply amazing!
@@Conqoo you mean when Markobi reveal the signed king of clubs? I don't think there is any switch. My guess is that the switched deck contains only pre-signed KC except for the few cards that have been displayed face up on purpose and the bottom card. Therefore, Penn could have selected any face down card and it would have been a KC. To confirm my theory: 1. the card displayed by Markobi is clearly not the same as the one that Brooke and Markobi signed. 2. After the deck switch I didn't see any move that are reversing the orientation of cards, therefore some cards were already face up in the switched deck. 3. Many actions/elements have been added by Markobi after the deck switch. This is so smart as usually the trick happens right after the switch. In this case the effect happened over 3 minutes after the switch. People already have forgotten that a card switch happened or didn't even linked the 4:18 move as a deck switch opportunity but rather an effect showing the transformation of a deck of cards into a single one.
Of course, "K" was a forced card and more "K" cards were described - the description of the first "K" is not the same as the description "K" at the end. The "awkwardness" was supposed to convince that the cards were different. It is a good trick that requires an obedient audience, which Penn and Teller are - they never look at cards if they are not invited. The trophy had to be handed over because Penn guessing deck replacement. However, this trick does not require such a switch - the magician made several tricks "from his pocket" in advance to convince the audience of this possibility. The magician is a very knowledgeable man and deserves the trophy.
I've been a fan of magic all my life... I've watched a lot of magic acts and a lot of different styles... this is undoubtedly one of the very best I've ever seen ! I'm still lol in amazement
After all of these years, you'd think there couldn't be any more great magicians that haven't been on the show yet. And still, they manage to find some time and time again. 🙂
It’s one of those things where you know what he has to be doing, but it’s not possible, so either he is doing something impossible, or he’s not doing what it looks like he is doing. Magic.
@@azzaKaiapoi That's exactly it. Him being nonchalant with the cards and seemingly having them turn over at random is what makes the trick what it is and lulls you away from the explanation. If he was being meticulous with the cards and the packets, you'd immediately think that the deck wasn't genuine.

Speechless, I couldn’t watch the rest of the episode I had to remind and watch this over and over. You just put your face fool us Mount Rushmore
"this is the best day.. Of my week".. I love your style!
Absolutely THE BEST sleight of hand ever! I have watched this video at least 50 times. Absolutely incredible!
ive watched this routine many times and it never fails to entertain and blow my mind but despite the insane level of skill in this act the best moment by far was when he said its your life and waved to dani daoritz.
Ya know, there are some tricks I want to learn how they were done, but this? I never wanna know how this was done, so each time I rewatch it I am amazed again and again.
quelle performance encore, magnifique, un talent fou et un boulot monstre !!! bravo 👏👏👏👏👏
Teller’s reaction , priceless. You blew his mind right up. 🤯
Bravo markobi.
Tu fais briller la France et l'Alsace en plus .
😍
You can see the admiration in Tellers' eyes. Great job Markobi!!!
I love the nervous energy, it really adds a new element of humour to what is a great routine.
I've probably watched every act on every season of this show, and you, sir, are the best!
Chaotic rutines are sooooooo hard to pull it out and make them work, not to mention, having two very experienced magicians right next to you watching. Damn!
Not easy Yeah 🎉
That was one of the best acts I’ve seen. I haven’t been so impressed since Shim Lim
Having seen this at FISM, it blew my mind then, and still does.
But, to have Penn switch on you, and still land the fish... my oh my, even better :)
Literally, world class!!
This routine gave me some GREAT ideas, and so I thank you. What a wonderful, natural feeling performance and unique style!
So good, Lennart Green is preemptively rolling over in his grave. Just an astonishing performance. The controls and misdirection are just at the tip top of the trade. Bravo, Mark! 👏👏👏
Lennart Green is still very much alive in my knowledge.
Yes he very much is, I’m aware. I must have misspelled preemptively and my phone thought that I was trying to say preeminently. Appreciate you for pointing that out so much. All fixed now. 🫡
Indeed. Markobi's card handling had many allusions to Lennart Green. Very enjoyable.
@@neilwoller He’s got all that LG energy and a bag of chips, lol 😝
I guess his "uncle" (which is "not realy his uncle, it's for the script") like the kudos of this FISM act feom markobi 🎉 You know the only that shows him "how to find kings" 😂 My only question is : how much geeky reference/kudos to other closeup magician is there here in front of us, 5 ? More ?
I was just watching some of your RUclips vids last night and here you are this morning. Amazing. And you're not even Spanish
Bravo Markobi ! Superbe prestation ! Bonne continuation à toi !
Hello Sir Markobi, I just want to let you know that I'll be the first watching you on RUclips tonight. You are the best magician in the world
world champion🎉
Greetings
I don't know you, but it is pretty rare to see in P and T show such standing ovation from the audience.
I watched the fism contest couple years before and seeing it live again, I thought "Damn, he will get them good" :)
Merci bcp Mr Markobi.
J'espere que cette video va rajouter beaucoup de visibilité et de nombreux contracts :)
Let's go ! 🤩
Go go go !🎉
That was one of the best performances on a show full of amazing performances
7:14 The fact that he faked an obvious palm to fool specifically magicians is amazing.
@@Wrrohm That's why it's funny, he faked doing an obvious palm, but it wasn't a palm at all.
@@CydeWeys Yeah I totally misread previously, I thought he had said he couldn't believe they were fooled by the palm. Thanks!
The actual palm was just a little bit after 7:32 with his left hand.
@@Flame19judgement You guys are talking about palms? WTF is a palm? :DDD
@balazsholocsi8593 it is a technique of hiding a card in the palm of the hand, hence "palming"(or palm) the card
A magicians magician, I watched this one so many times, enjoy every time to see P&T crack up and become like small amazed kids again. Just brilliant
Being the world champion of magic is clearly not a joke. Amazing. Been waiting for this and I'm so happy for all those who are seeing this for the first time. It's awesome isn't it. Welcome to the Markotrain
First time to watch Markobi... To ser him perform live is now in my bucket list. Do original
it is so refreshing that you didnt give away the result in the title. i understand why most people do. but its much more enjoyable when you don't.
This act was incredible.
Also i loved that comment "can I change cards"
"its your life"
There is nothing better than watching masters of their craft being entertained like the rest of us.
I'm pretty sure i lip read Teller saying the start of "I have absol..." tley no idea. at 08:02 i could be very wrong though. Im no lip reader.
Connaissant le tour, le "voulez vous changer" Et ce final qui évolue rend le tour encore plus fort. Bravo pour ce travail markobi. Magnifique
7:44 First time I see Teller jumping on his chair by surprise !
His facial expression looks like he's disgusted by how somebody can be THAT good. 😆
(My favorite moment as well.)
I can tell Pen & Teller respected your talent & really enjoyed your style of showmanship. Very good job 👏
Definitely the upper echelon of acts that have ever come to fool us. Bravo
How did he do the last switch? The Very last move.
To confirm my theory:
1. the card displayed by Markobi is clearly not the same as the one that Brooke and Markobi signed.
I keep watching this when it pops up on my feed because it’s probably the best magic trick of any kind I have ever seen.
Bravo. Le "it's the best day of m'y week." m'a fait beaucoup rire.
Such a nice performance. Impressed every time i see it.
Don't think I have seen Teller having this much fun before. That can only mean this is an awsome act. :)
❤
I've been a fan of magic all my life... I've watched a lot of magic acts and a lot of different styles... this is undoubtedly one of the very best I've ever seen !
I'm still lol in amazement
My favourite part is when teller laughing when the magician raise he's hand 😂😂😂
Absolutely a joy to watch such a great performance.
After all of these years, you'd think there couldn't be any more great magicians that haven't been on the show yet.
And still, they manage to find some time and time again. 🙂
You are fabulous! Love your character! Love the routine!
It’s one of those things where you know what he has to be doing, but it’s not possible, so either he is doing something impossible, or he’s not doing what it looks like he is doing.
Magic.
Did he use multiple Kc?
I think he just be. Maybe that's why he scribbled on the card, so it would not be as noticeable?
@@azzaKaiapoi That's exactly it. Him being nonchalant with the cards and seemingly having them turn over at random is what makes the trick what it is and lulls you away from the explanation. If he was being meticulous with the cards and the packets, you'd immediately think that the deck wasn't genuine.
I've just watched this for the first time and it immediately went on my list of S tier magic tricks. So many years bingeing Fool Us and there was only one trick in that tier until now. Truly, thank you for this.
Which other one was S tier? Eric Meade perhaps?

Huge number. It's so well written, the character also serves the process. This FISM prize rewards intelligent writing, exceptional technique and daring.
An important detail, for us French: it's particularly pleasing to finally see a card trick perfectly filmed on TV, something we don't know how to do in France. It really highlights the quality and complexity of the routine.
Fun fact: in France, no one picks from the bag of chips, whereas everyone is more relaxed and playful here.
Your act got even better. It's so well done. incroyable. C'est le meilleur tour de magie que j'ai vu depuis des années...
OMG! FISM champion Markobi on Fool Us! can't be more excited about this.
Cheers
Wow this one was one of the coolest tricks I have ever seen. Of all the tricks this one had me truly surprised. Much success to this incredible professional
