My guess is that it's slightly more complex than that. There is probably a rule, let's say for example numbers finishing by X or being a multiple of Y will have the word "XYZ" in that sentence so she would only have to memorize let's say 10 different words.

I'm not in the theatre world anymore, but there is a unwritten but GENERALLY universal rule, that if the focus on stage is a girl, she must be the most attractive, most appealingly dressed woman in the room, if you as the director don't do that, you won't have your job long and you'll be back writing for academic journals or being a grip. That girl undoubtedly works full time on her appearance, she gets paid very well for it, and the costumer has made spectacularly appropriate dress for this show and location.
I saw penn talk about "too perfect" once... The first trick that was obviously just a joke was "too perfect". It was funny and good, but it was too perfect :D It would have been bad if he didn't reveal the sign on his back, because I would have just assumed he had talked with the host before the show. Even if blue was her favourite colour, 7 and 3 is the most common numbers to pick, and having to pick a number between 1 and 1000, you'd probably be more likely to add an extra hundred than to just pick 73, and lion also being a common animal to pick... tiger, dog or cat would probably be close to as likely... The chances of this being a real trick is astronomical.. Too perfect! Obviously this wasn't the real trick, I just think he is exaggerating the effect this "trick" had on the audience, before the shirt reveal :D But it was still really funny!
