The only thing better than him doing this is the fact he is gonna share the trick with us! He makes it look so effortless but still jaw dropping. Loved it!
My guess: he first demonstrates the box, with all peanuts showing. Then with the assistant, they shake and spin the box, then put it on the ground upside down (it had flaps on top and bottom). When he opens the flaps on the new top (previous bottom) there is a device (thin transparent sheet of plastic maybe) that catches the peanut he drops into the box. Then, he dives in, and grabs that thin sheet with the peanut in it, and submerges into the mass of peanuts where he puts the one peanut in his mouth and the thin sheet in his pocket.
I haven’t seen how it was done yet, but I’m guessing the peanut he “found” is not the same as the one Teller signed. Since he got a good look at it before dropping it in, he could have a pen hidden in the box in a way he could find and use it to draw the number on any of the peanuts.
@@LeclericShow I gotta ask, how did you do it? You jump in the box. We hear the SCRITCH sound of the blanket coming lose. The Peanut is on the blanket, and you are blindfolded. I agree. I also think he already knew what it would be. I mean, come on. What has Teller been known for? His non-verbal participation. So, you ask him to put down his favorite right from the constitution... it's going to be #1, freedom of speech. I think he had pre-made 1s in his outfit and just picked the one that matched Teller's. It's a good trick that could have went wrong had he assumed wrong. If not that, it has to be the type of peanuts he had Teller choose from. I'm assuming they could have been possibly magnetic, the marker had some element that made it magnetic, or the peanut was pre-coated in a chemical that made it react to a black light or something in the blindfold. I mean, why have him select one from a pre-separated bag of peanuts and then use tongs to drop it in instead of having Teller come up or have the assistant pick one out of the box and hand it to Teller to write on and drop it back in the box? This shouldn't have fooled them.
@@geraldeaves3340 It's... not a 1. It's a T. For Teller. He told him he could just initial it, the amendment thing was a joke. 😅 But he also said to initial both sides, and Teller didn't, and neither was the end result. Also, the peanut had the same chunk missing.

the box had a fake botton, before he trowed the peanut he made it upside down. When he jumped inside he got the peanut and his weight destroyed the fake botton. You can see that when the box is at his side you can see the fake botton 6:31.
Knowing how the trick was done, I'm still impressed every time I watch this. There were no tells especially from Penn and Teller's view, until 8:53 and by then he had already won, and it wasn't a big enough tell to actually give anything away. Very well done. one of the best tricks I've ever seen.

At 6:20 I think there's a chance that evem Eric himself thinks he's messed up, just for a second. At 2:59 Eric asks teller to intitial both sides, but Teller only signed one side of the peanut. Immideately after Eric opens his mouth, I'm sure he expected a response from the audience, you can see his glance to the camera, which I interpret as being very worreid for just 1 second.
Even after watching the reveal video, your performance on P&T F'Us was remarkably well done. Knowing how the trick was performed, I am still at a loss for how you did it with such fluidity. Well done.

Man, I’m so happy for Eric! Seeing him all the time being such a character on Chris’s channel. This was awesome. Gotta be top 3 Fool Us acts in my opinion.
I remember the dude who did the phone book routine. This is literally the same trick I think. He looked at tellers signature, during the 20 seconds in the box he drew something that looked close enough on a different peanut, And when he fell out at the end he let it go into a pile of peanuts where they wouldn't be able to go look at it again.
He used a cloth that looked like peanuts to create 2 seperate compartments he dropped the peanut onto the cloth so it didnt get mixed up with the others. while in the box he stuffed the cloth down his pants. i think, mayb, he shoulve not looked at the peanut maybe so it wasnt posible to have signed a peanut that looked like the same one like u said.
@@danm7298 You can see the entire top of the box and all the extra peanuts move across the surface. This is very unlikely how he did it. Additionally, that would be much more difficult to be 100% accurate with this method. The method I mentioned is 100% every time.
@@iWinttv yes it is how he did it. He has a video where he explains how. those r the peanuts in the one compartment. On the other side of the box there r no peanuts. Because of the cloth that seperates the two sides like i said
@@iWinttv He has a video showing how he does it. i promise thats how he dies it. the peanuts you see are one the one side. the bottom of the box in the second compartment doesnt have any peanuts.
I hat the idea that the peanut Teller picked was special. It came from a seperate bag so it might be prepared so that it's the only peanut in the box that's magnetic or something like that. Then he just swiped a huge magnet around inside the box of peanuts and the only one that sticked to it was Tellers. But your theory is way cooler and easier :D
He didn't really fool them. P&T often fake being fooled coz it's the name of the show. And in this act Penn even said the purpose of the show and the fooling part isn't important. This guy won bcoz he is good, but did not really fool P&T.

Or when they had the inventive episode last season in other episodes in the same season the magicians mentioned how they invented their trick even though their act didn't air on the inventing episode.
The trick is so simple when you think about it. For a start, no one can distinguish one packing peanut from the rest. Secondly, writing on a packing peanut is impossible to do well. Teller struggled himself to write anything meaningful on the peanut. The game was up when our magician studied the peanut that Teller had 'wrote' on before entering the box. He then knew roughly what the peanut should look like. Jump in the box. Grab any peanut. Take out a concealed marker and simply mark it similar to the peanut that Teller marked. Stuff it in your mouth. Simple.

You can see that you were nervous when they were asking questions and when they were fooled the face you had just warmed my heart
Eric you are so f*cking amazing. That is an absolutely incredible effect from top to bottom, truly perfected. The humor, the effect, and overall presentation put all together made this like a work of art. The fact that you even consider letting us in on the secrets without selling the trick for a bunch of money just shows how great of a person you are. We are all so pro us of you and congratulations on the fool, you totally deserve it!!!!!
I can't imagine why anybody would want to earn aliving diving inot a huge cardboard box full of packaging material so why not give the secret away.
What if... the way he looked at the peanut, he memorized the exact way it was written. Jumped into the box, wrote on another peanut. Put it in his mouth and tada!!! Or it's pure magic and fooled me too😬
Bang on the money!!
I've looked at the shapes and everything the peanut dozen times, and reconstructed it's geometry. seems to be the same one
@@samallcott5171 just watch the video where he reveals the trick. It has nothing to do with rewriting the number. Teller was close with his guess.
the box had a fake botton, before he trowed the peanut he made it upside down.
When he jumped inside he got the peanut and his weight destroyed the fake botton.
You can see that when the box is at his side you can see the fake botton 6:31.
08:37 lol did Alison say that "oh i was so scared that you were gonna hug me"
Yes because the guy is a huge fraud
I can't unsee Penn's neck spilling over that insanely tight collar 😂
I love hearing on Alysons mic “I was so scared you were gonna hug me!”
She's such a scaredy cat.
That wasn't a "trick". That was a Vegas act. Loved the energy and comedy along with the performance.
Fantastic trick!
To be perfectly honest, I don’t want to know how you did it because I’d rather remain fooled 👍
I love his reaction! So sincere and you can tell how much he wanted it
Knowing how the trick was done, I'm still impressed every time I watch this. There were no tells especially from Penn and Teller's view, until 8:53 and by then he had already won, and it wasn't a big enough tell to actually give anything away. Very well done. one of the best tricks I've ever seen.
Explain
@@thegadgetzone hard for me to tell on a small screen but does the cloth show itself as he's jumping around? That's my only guess. It wasn't fully tucked into his pants and you can see it out the back I think.
Are we just going to ignore the fact that Fabien is now sitting in the crowd? He's the real magician. @5:40
That’s kinda racist I know you didn’t mean for it to be tho
St. Jimmy sometimes racist people say all asians look the same and he’s implying that by saying Fabien and that guy look the same, I’m not really sure how to exslpain it and I don’t think this guy had any intentions of being racist but I can’t be the only who thought what I did when I read the comment.
@@owendoesthings231
Or maybe people are just making jokes based on stereotypes. It's called context.
@@owendoesthings231 that's stupid...
@@owendoesthings231 The dude on the right is literally Fabien as well, he has the same shirt on underneath his jacket. At 5:33 you can see him standing out in front of the audience, too
Awesome act. And I think this is probably my favorite way that Penn has announced being fooled.
this guy actully seemed emotionally overjoyed at fooling them! everyone else seems a little smug, but i felt happy for this guy! well done!
When he asked him if he used a container he answered him by not answering him lol
He asked if he had placed it directly in a container or whether he had let it flutter down. He answered it fine.
@@hainsay I'm so sorry
3:12 The silent guy in the room appreciates our freedom of speech. Teller is one of the greatest minds in television.
I LOVE how wholesome it felt watching you get so excited. I am about to go peak at the reveal video but I can't even imagine a way it *could* be done let alone making a legitimate guess.
On the surface the effect is so simple, too. Presents clean and straightforward, so it's easy to get into. Thanks for the entertainment!
CONGRATULATIONS, one of my favourite acts, Chris is next!!!
I have a method, but you’d end dirty with a chance of exposing due to a double. Can’t wait to see how you did it brother! Congratulations 🎉
It would be an amazing alternate ending though. Come back out with Tellers peanut glued to your body and just never open your mouth.
i think the peanuts on choice had an magnetic coding...and inside the cartoon near the top flap was a magnetic plate hidden...once he dropped the peanut it gets attracted to that plate...when he opens the flap he hides in hand
He placed the box upside down after he was done shaking it. You can figure out the rest
@@LcNcKc he placed it in the same orientation as when they picked it up
@@LcNcKc no brother he put it back right side up... I could be misunderstanding you but I rewatched it a few times to make sure...
Man this was Soooo Damn good! I love how you don’t become someone else on stage, it’s just you and obviously just you is more than amazing. 90% ecstatic 10% jealous bud! Congrats!
If this is how he is all the time I'd go mad how annoying
@@slyguy1798 and that's why u have no friends
Yes, so helplessly good. We can only imagine what kind of catcher mechanism he used.
"...nearly as much is the fact that you fooled us." * COMPLETE ESCALATION *
I need this guy's energy to go through the shitshow that has been 2020.
how's 2021 treating you lol
Fantastic trick mate. The best thing was tellers face. Judging by his reaction at 6:11 I think he genuinely believed that you messed this up. Then when they cut back to him at 6:34 he looks soo relieved. Also I figured out Helen's trick from this episode, but I have no idea how you have done this.
@GoodRiddanceGooglePlus I reackon he maybe had teller, even if just for a few seconds. He deserves an oscar for the way he sold that "false failure"
I think after jumping into the box he wrote on a peanut as exactly teller did and put it in his mouth
*WOW, never seen anyone celebrate like that after getting the FU trophy. Really love his energy. lol.*
Even after watching the reveal video, your performance on P&T F'Us was remarkably well done. Knowing how the trick was performed, I am still at a loss for how you did it with such fluidity. Well done.
Thanks Shawn!! Means a lot! That was 6 months of my life crammed in 8 minutes! :)
I LOVED the joy, when you heard "You fooled us"!
I don't think I've ever seen more genuine reaction from any other magician when Penn tells them "You fooled us."
This dude has really good energy and stage presence.
This is an instant classic performance
word xo
Love the energy man. Instantly puts people (me) in a good mood. Great that you fooled them too!
Absolutely amazing! The sheer joy you expressed when you fooled them was my favourite part, its so nice to see people genuinely happy.
Such a fun routine! I love it when magic is so goofy and so wildly imaginative. You have an infectious energy as a performer, too. 👏
Beautifully done! Your stage presence is admirable brother 😁
Penn: The important Thing is to Entertain the crowd d to be funny
Eric: 😐
Penn:Not so important is the fact that you fooled us
Eric:🎊🎉🎊🎉😋😂😁😄😃😍😘🤗😜🤤🤑🎉🎊🎉🎊
Huge congratulations! One of the most entertaining acts I’ve seen on Fool Us!
Man, I’m so happy for Eric! Seeing him all the time being such a character on Chris’s channel. This was awesome. Gotta be top 3 Fool Us acts in my opinion.
Nearly choked at Allison's "I was so scared you were gonna hug me"
Besides the trick being awesome, this guy Fabian was the perfect member of the audience somehow. 😄 His chilled and relaxed way fit perfectly.
Dude, I loved you in Psych, glad you're still doing stuff!
When was he in Psych?
5:41 How dafuq is Fabian already sitting back with his jacket on, in the middle of the countdown??!?!?!?!
Dang. That is good
He used a cloth that looked like peanuts to create 2 seperate compartments he dropped the peanut onto the cloth so it didnt get mixed up with the others. while in the box he stuffed the cloth down his pants. i think, mayb, he shoulve not looked at the peanut maybe so it wasnt posible to have signed a peanut that looked like the same one like u said.
One of the best energic performance I've seen on Fool Us. Great showmanship!
To each his or her own. Couldn’t finish the video - too much “showmanship” …
I'm a Canadian so I love eric, plus I devoted a year of life watching him do 365 days of magic so there's no turning back now.
My guess has to do with the fact that there was a separate bag of packing peanuts for Teller to pick from. Maybe all of those were glow-in-the-dark?
but hes blindfolded?
good guess, but all of the peanuts in the bag were normal packing peanuts.
@@amrisleepy How can you tell when he is in the box?
Holy shit! You're one of the best magicians that I've ever seen. Congrats on fooling Penn and Teller!
I think it was very simple: while he was in the box he just wrote the letter on another peanut. There you go
The number T
I hat the idea that the peanut Teller picked was special. It came from a seperate bag so it might be prepared so that it's the only peanut in the box that's magnetic or something like that. Then he just swiped a huge magnet around inside the box of peanuts and the only one that sticked to it was Tellers. But your theory is way cooler and easier :D
@@Dragoonking17 Different density, when shaken it went to the bottom. It also had different touch, so he could find it by touch.
I thinks so too, because the the peanut he spits out has the T on the opposite side of where Teller wrote it.
@@Dragoonking17 ya for me it was obvious but for P & T not so much
the reaction beat the routine i’m afraid... 🤣
really thought he was going to say you didn’t fool them. congrats man
My kids and I love to sit down and watch your show Tricked on BYUtv a few times a month. It's a blast. Congrats!
Yo this is a great performance! And what's even better is that you did fool them
He didn't really fool them.
P&T often fake being fooled coz it's the name of the show. And in this act Penn even said the purpose of the show and the fooling part isn't important. This guy won bcoz he is good, but did not really fool P&T.

@@nathanfeldman9510 Penn and teller fool us - every episode of every season
@@AF-lt2fr they do a lot of filming and splice acts together to make a show. Remember Alice mentioning she wears the same thing in so many episodes?
Simple.
It was that obvious it did not occure Penn and Teller.
Depuis votre présentation à l’école La Vérendrye, à Thunder Bay, j’ai adoré ton matériel! And to see where you’ve come from then, I feel so proud to have seen you from the start to now! Congratulations Éric Leclerc, never doubted you would fool them! 😊❤️
This is the episode that got me hooked to Fool Us. Way to go!!!!
Of all the checks that I’ve seen this one was the most incredible and then genius, but could be on TV. Thank you so much for sharing. It was also pretty gutsy that you will never be able to do this trick again, but that just tells of your talent.
