the thing with Mario is that his tricks can be figured out but the execution is so incredibly flawless that even if you know how you will probably never be able to do it yourself

That was done with a trick cigarette, each side was printed differently (sorry to ruin it). His sleight of hand is phenomenal. This, I believe is witchcraft.

It really doesn’t matter if he fooled them or not with the nipple or the salt. Mario is one of the most brilliant performers out there and he certainly deserves a trophy. Great job man. Simply marvelous.

No way it was the nipple. They just used it as an excuse like shin lim with the marker. They knew where it went cause shin literally pulls out the marker from the same place later on. But the salt is so all over the place it just fooled them.
Niple trick was extremely simple and I am sure that couldn't't fooled Pen. He just cowered niple whit his left hand while he pretend taking it off whit right hand

@@leeomuireadhaigh3192 he means clowns make fun from misery, they deal with problem, sometimes really simple ones like a chair they can't sit on for example, to make their show. Problems are their basic tool and from their troubles to deal with them, they can make people laugh, enjoy and forget their real problems for a while.

They seemed unsure about some of the salt tricks and didn't really know how to make fair decision of if he fooled them or not with salt, so going with the nipple was them not fighting over it
@@gvidnation3971 I'm not sure about that. It's an easy trick to see if you rewatch it, but he did it really quickly with precise movement, so I think it's plausible that they genuinely didn't spot it from that distance on a single viewing when you don't know what to expect.

Such an entertaining and hilarious performance, and as Penn & Teller already said, technically amazing. (Not that I can even fully understand the difficulty of most of the sleights).

What makes this so great is that Mario did use big props. He didn't have to massive machine to do things. The man just used salt, a hat, a magic wand, and his nipple. This made him one of the best acts ever on the show hands down, nipples out.

He is one of those magicians that doesn't make me think "i wonder how he did that" but simply make me enjoy it and have fun.
Penn and Teller were not fooled by the nipple. It’s the classic way of Penn actually saying “I may have been fooled or not, but either way, the performance was so good that I’m picking an insignificant bit of the performance and use it as an excuse to give you the trophy.”. He did the same thing to Shin Lim. Penn made the pen as the excuse at that time.
It really is a flaw in the show's design
Even to me, someone who knows nothing of pulling off magic, it obvious he just obscured and pulled his skin up to make it look like the skin we were seeing it where his nipple was. The salt was more impressive.

They need people lile him in la vegas show. They were obviously not fooled by anything but he will be a good entertainer at he vegas shows.. its all about money for them.

One of my favorite magicians. His style is sort of slap stick like Charlie Chaplin, but his charisma and his whole persona makes you feel good as you watch him perform. Love you Mario! Keep up the good work!

I came back to watch this and I’m almost more impressed than the first time I’ve seen it. His demeanor makes it seem as if he’s a bumbling idiot. He plays the character so well that you never believe he’s a real magician or has any tangible skills. But honestly he’s probably one of the MOST skilled magicians of all time. Perfectly done Mario!
This guy is famous because of his cigarret magic , people recognised him when he came to the stage , when i saw the video i got so excited , when i saw its his yt channel , got excited even more , he is one of the bests i think , he has his signature on his magics

THIS ONE IS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE "FOOLED US" MOMENT. MARIO IS SO HUMBLE ABOUT HIS PERFORMANCE AND VERY FUN TO WATCH. VERY EASY GOING, VERY RELAXED. HUMBLE. MY FAVORITE FOOLED MOMENT.

His act was invented by Cardini who had similar style of things just appearing and disappearing without magician's intent. Pulling it off demands immense amount of technical skill and Mario Lopez absolutely nailed it. Damn strong performance.

The nippy trick was so easy. All he did was cover up his nippy with this shirt then while it was covered he pulled the nippy up with his hand and it appears as if it disappeared when really he just stretched his chest up and pretended to grab his nippy. 🤦🏾♂️ So fake and I noticed it the first time I seen it and Penn and Teller acting like they were fooled. I’m 16 and these professional grown man couldn’t see it. RUclips keeps deleting my comments cause I have the word nippy 🤫 in it

To this day I still don't know if they just lied about being fooled or were alluding to the fact that his nipple trick fooled them because it made how a lot of how the salt trick worked implausible to them (since he lifted his shirt and exposed a lot of his jacket).
I was gonna say, no way the nipple actually fooled them. That's a trick you could do to impress drunk people with about an hour of practice to make it look good.
I'm pretty sure they have an idea how his trick was done, they just want him to perform in Vegas. Usually that's the case when someone super famous or have super interesting magic act coming to the show. The "I don't know how you do the nipple" just an excuse and comedy. At least that's how I see it
@@namikazevindu6440 I don't think that would be the case, surely they know all tricks to a certain degree but they only acknowledge they've been fooled when they don't realise 100% how a trick is done.
It was revealed in an interview that the time teller and Penn have to talk to each other between they make the verdict is 10 to 15 minutes, during that time they're on a phone call with the judge Mike Close who has already seen the trick beforehand.
If they truly just wanted him to be on the show I don't get why they just didn't pretend to be fooled by the salt trick? Especially considering they said they may or may not know how the salt trick is done, but that's impossible because in the time they're talking to Mike Close their verdict should only either be yes (they know how it's done) or no (they got fooled).
I'm guessing they deduced a method similar to the one used by Mario but it had some contradictory logic to what was established earlier in the act, such as Mario showing he has nothing under his shirt.
He really is the epitome of illusion. He's one of my favourites. Perfect delivery, beautiful performance and masterful sleight of hand. Stellar artist right here.

I could watch that cigarette bit over and over and over again. It's like a really old gag but it just shows it's not about the gimmick. Everybody probably knows how the damn cigarette thing works it doesn't matter and that's magic

That's why the elbow salt and the hand salt are individual and can be seen to flow unsynced
Which he also needed to shook his body before the salt in his elbow flowed

I love Mario, he always gives me a smile when he performs.
His performance and style are impeccable, plus he's absolutely hilarious in his delivery. My only criticism is actually of Penn, who claims to have been fooled by the vanishing nipple trick. It was clearly the easiest of all Mario's reptoire to decipher and easier if you're skinny and don't have a hairy chest. He's just cupping it with his left hand and stretching his skin to move it. More of an optical illusion when viewed quickly at a distance. It was however delivered perfectly and I thoroughly enjoy Mario's work.

No boy, he was fooled by the missing nipple because it showed that there were no bag or pipes in his chest, and that rules out the more plausible explanation for the salt trick... He did that to show on purpose that they cant figure out the act

no, its more likely he has no nipple on that side or covered it with a flesh colored tape and the one he pulled off was a fake one. thats the most obvious and simple explanation.
Penn & Teller do NOT give sympathy trophies. that is outlandish and violates the whole premise of the show and would be unfair to many other performers. Ive seen magic tricks that blew my mind and looked like real sorcery, for Penn & Teller to say they still knew how they were done, and I know how a lot of magic tricks are done. They would not just give sympathy wins to other performers.
I've been following mario for years now and his style of performing is one of my favorites and never get boring. Love his work and I hope he will still be doing magic until hes an old man. I know I'll still be watching.

So creative, this is the type of guy who can do his talent/hobby anywhere anytime, which is what I think the best people in multiple arts can do. Comedy, magic, hip hop. Obviously with magic there’s more preparation then the other two, but for the most part you can stand on any street corner and just get a crowd doing your hobby and I love that
