First act is a masterpiece, well done
GET OFF THE STAGE has to be the best non coded but coded message ever! 😂😂😂😂
there was no code. only thing that can be considered as "code" is that Penn basically said "you really think you can fool us by changing your shirt under the bag? --- GET OFF THE STAGE!"
@@SethiozProject there was code. "You hid your trick from us" - is part of the code. Basically putting the shirt on under the garbage bag.
Ding!🛎️
First guy learned his entire routine in English and didn’t speak any of it?! wtf?! Guys legit sounded like he was a fluent English speaker and then had a translator come out and did the entire interview in Korean or mandarin or something? 😂😂😂
Yeah I didn’t get that either, and by the way that was Korean.
I would guess Kimoon Do has fluent or near-fluent English for standard conversational English, but wanted to guarantee understanding when it comes to talking about the routine, or whatever other things Brooke or Penn ask/say. Sort of like how a diplomat is probably going to have a decent level in multiple languages, but might rely on a translator to be sure they don't miss something.
@@pylon39 That is not how fluent or near fluent English works. Both cases involve perfect understanding of written and heard sentences, with near fluent you lose some expression of yourself when speaking. Not to mention Penn is not exactly Shakespeare when it comes to conversations...
However, he definitely fooled you to think he knew fluent English now is he not... Give him his trophy.
it's cuz it's hard to speak in real time if your language skills are not that good.
for example i grew up on english, but i don't really understand scottish. it's still english, but accent is so weird that it's very hard to understand anything.
i also understand some other languages a bit, like german and finnish, but i don't really speak them. if i hear someone talk, then based on their body language and tone and some of the words i recognize, i have a pretty good idea what they're saying, but trying to talk with someone in another language isn't really happening, unless you actually learn the language.
also there's confidence issues, lot of people who speak english fine, are afraid of using it as they don't want it to look embarassing.
like the infamous clip on youtube where some asian teacher is saying that "coke = c0ck" .. must be one of the most embarassing moments when even teacher don't know how to speak english lol
Practice 2 hours a day for eight years, that's over 5000 hours so learning patter in a language he already knows quite well, easy in comparison.
Great entertainment! Luv it!
14:18 - I keep thinking "all this is is the old bul'let-catch but using a t-shirt instead of a bul'let".
Brooke needed to tell us that Penn and Teller are also here.
Anyone else feel the editors become more generous with each passing season?
Maybe. At least I feel like we didn't get to see how the Mind Noodler switched the t-shirts.
The Rio died during c19
The Rio died during c19
@@nitedk No, I do not feel that way. If I watch enough times, I can still figure out the vast majority of tricks on the show.
For the shirt, there were two blue shirts on the chair to begin with. You can briefly see the shirt underneath around 13:48 when it gets dragged by Penn’s marker. At this point, Penn probably already knows there’s 2 shirts. I suspect that’s why he uses the other hand to pin it down and avoid further revealing the trick.
It’s true you don’t get to see him hide the real shirt in his overalls, however I think this is fair. If you look before the shirt cannon is brought out, it’s neatly folded on his shoulder. When he goes to put the cannon on Penn it appears to have been jostled. It makes sense that the camera is pointed where essentially everyone would have been looking-which is presumably when the pull took place.
Granted it’s plausible he did the pull immediately as he picked up the shirt. We don’t get to see him fold it either. But again I wouldn’t attribute that to overly generous editors. We can still plainly see the collar/neck hole of the shirt underneath at the aforementioned timestamp. Thats pretty egregious-especially considering it’s a stage trick and no audience member would be able to catch that from a distance.
Since I’m already in this deep, I’ll add that the Korean kid doesn’t need edits. He’s just fkng good at manipulating cards. I can follow like ~65% of it.
For the bit with the “wallet” I can tell you it’s a clever prop. The aces for sure go in, and when he picks the wallet back up he definitely opens it from the other side.
As for the re-ordering I can’t completely figure it out. I suspect he makes some kind of switch when he gets the wallet-but I don’t think he gets rid of any cards. I think he just grabs the spades. He may or may not be using the arrow card to keep track of certain spots.
Part of why it’s hard to follow is the variety. He almost never picks up a single card. It’s a double-lift like every time. I think he has at least 1 red-backed arrow card and 1 with a white back. For example, when he draws the 5♠️, he lifts the arrow card and the 5 underneath it. He flips them over, then quickly draws the second card from the top-which is now the arrow-to reveal the face of the five. AGAIN he picks up the top two cards, and does a slick 180° turn to “transform” the arrow into the 6♠️. I would say that at this point nothing has fooled Penn or Teller.
The really clever part is the finale, where the remaining cards are already ordered. I think that’s what Fools Them, and it’s certainly the part that makes my brain hurt.
ACE FROM SPACE!
Cane guy, you didn't fool me but you sure have a magntic appeal and didnt string us along!
It was funny to see Matt Donnelly's gag version of the bullet catch trick! Although it seems like he just switched the shirts off camera?
I think he had someone off stage making him a replica while Penn made his version on the stage and whoever handed them all the “rain jackets” also stuffed the second shirt into the garbage bag before handing it to Matt. That’s my best guess anyway. The original shirt is still in the “Ham Cannon”.
@@Wildest_Wahoo You're probably right, but who knows? Half the trick is off camera. It would have been nice if Matt at least showed the shirt had the drawing on it before loading it in the cannon. And if they showed Matt putting on his rain jacket from start to finish
@@Wildest_WahooIf I were to guess he had another blue shirt in a pocket. He loaded _that_ shirt in the cannon and put on the marked t-shirt while having the garbage bag hiding his body. Obviously the cannon could shoot anything, not necessarily whatever Matt loaded in it.
@@Wildest_Wahoo "I think he had someone off stage making him a replica"
How incredibly stupid. That of course is not how the trick works.
100% it is..
He slips it in the prop that was taken off stage and then it’s brought back inside his bag..
6:34 wow
If that first guy is the Jim Carrey of magic I’m the Steve Jobs of being homeless.
I assume, the way she took the tag off the suitcase has something to do with the correctness of her "prediction".
nope. Penn made it quite clear when he was talking to Brooke about showing the exits, it was reference that this trick had multiple outs. tag was just one of them. one exit was probably that crushed paper ball inside of the cups. one was probably under the briefcase or maybe inside bottom of each case that holds the item.
that's what Penn meant when he told Brooke about checking the exits.
The suitcase trick is very easy, she probably has a feedback device on her person that vibrates once for the bullet, twice for the cups. TBH it doesn't require skill, anyone can do it.
23:00 - Ideally there would be four (or more) items in the case. Not less than four. That would mean that the magician is making three correct "guesses", not two (with the third item being the sole leftover item in the hands of the sole leftover person).
true, but that would increase the multiple outs. that's what Penn's code was all about when he told Brooke about showing the exists, he referred to that she had multiple outs, tag was one of them, she had other outputs elsewhere, like maybe that crushed paper ball inside of the cup, i suspect that was another prediction. something was probably under the case or each of the tiny cases that held the items.
with 4 items, she would have needed more exits.
Brooke has a great voice also, I mean on top of being so pretty.
I completely disagree. I find her whole self annoying.
She's one fine ass woman. however old she is she's still fine ass hell.
she acts like a plank of wood, devoid of any real interest in the show. You can tell she does it for the paycheck only. Alyson was genuinely into it and that's what made her a natural part of this. Either that or Alyson was doing a fine piece of acting for nearly a decade straight.
Alysons awkwardness and bewilderment was cute, but Brooke really isn't a good replacement
24:59 - I don't know how Brielle sensed which item went to which person. Something in the briefcase may emit a signal, depending on which order the objects are removed, that only Brielle can receive. But there are only six possible permutations as to who has what. Brielle could have six possible reveals for each of the six permutations. There could be an envelope inside the case, or something written in her shoe, et cetera. And yet, I don't think so. I think the luggage-tag's stage-presence is too front-and-center. It would be "left hanging", so to speak, if she'd pulled the correct guess from one of the other five locations. ALSO, the printing on the luggage-tag would be absolutely perfect if it were just one of six possible reveals. The printing is NOT perfect. The red words hit low. There'd be no reason for that if this luggage-tag stated only one of six outcomes from the moment it was born. So, I think the luggage-tag is the ONLY reveal, and it has to be rigged to take on one of six possible outcomes. Let's suppose that the luggage-tag inside contains some capability of being cycled. In that event, not counting twists, there are really only TWO possible outcomes: one is the order cards-bul'let-cups, and the other is cards-cups-bul'let. If you have those as lines on a cylinder or sleeve, you only need those two, plus the ability to rotate the cylinder or sleeve, to cover all six outcomes. In this case, assuming that the order of the people is fixed (it's Penn, Teller, Brooke, because all of the text for them is of such variable length especially with Brooke having "Finally," before her name), then you would NOT use the cards-cups-bul'let cylinder and you WOULD use the cards-bul'let-cups cylinder, and rotate it so that bul'let aligns with Penn, cups aligns with Teller, and cards aligns with Brooke. How do you make the choice on which cylinder is used? Well, there's a snap that Brielle didn't use for removing the luggage-tag. If she unsnaps the snap and removes it that way, one cylinder is activated. If the other cylinder had been desired (as in this case) she does NOT unsnap the snap but just pulls the luggage-tag off. Either method of removing the luggage-tag will eliminate three outcomes. How the rotation is done to have the red ink align correctly with the names is "left as an exercise for the reader", which, translated, means "I don't have a clue".
that's exactly how it was done, what you think Penn was talking about when he had a "go" at Brooke about the exits? he didn't talk about any safety or real exits, it was code to Brielle, telling her that "you had multiple outs" as in, different tags in different places.
@@SethiozProject It's been 2 weeks since I typed that, and I had to review it. Right now my feeling is that since the printing didn't align perfectly, and wasn't the same color of ink (that's my memory, anyway), she may have more than one permutation printed on the luggage-tag, all in disappearing ink but at slight disalignments to the black ink (except for one, which will be perfectly in line). If she can only fit three printings on a tag that way, then there's an additional control that depends on whether she uses the snap to remove the tag or just pulls the tag right off. Another possibility is the ability to make one of three outcomes show up by using a colored (not totally clear) plastic window on the luggage-tag, which allows only one color of ink to show up. I don't think she had multiple luggage-tags in multiple locations, but I wouldn't rule out that she had multiple luggage-tags all where the single tag seems to hang.
I hate how they show audience expressions or showing penn and teller while magician is doing his move. Like the deck switch that was done while pulling wallet out or while pulling the shirt out.
How old is this ?
CW Original Air Date 03.15.24
Given the three objects and the order in which she had them choose items, I would have predicted the exact same outcome. And it would not even have been the slightest bit of magic. Just knowing Penn and Teller for a bit. ^^
the one with the bin bags :))
What!! No Alyson Hannigan!!😢
39:38 - How does Teller deal out 52 cards into 6 piles and end up with only two cards (not four) left over? Six goes into 52 eight times. There should be six stacks of eight cards each. That's 48 cards. There should be four cards left over.
In a later shot it looks like the cards have been moved, revealing that there are three cards. But again, a lot of stuff had been edited out.
That switch 6:34 was seamless
I feel like I just got a free magic lesson from p&t hidden from the muggles in plain sight.
The original routine of the first magician's routine it is actually created by Pepe Carrol, spanish close up, stage magician, TV show host.
1st guy has a double top pocket ➡️
probably double everything, including double sleight of hand. it was so smooth and he fooled them with CARDS. i knew he was switching, but didn't notice, it was perfectly executed
The last trick should fool Penn and Teller. Who could've known the 6 of spade was there 🧐
Screen cut from picking up the shirt from the chair and placing it on his shoulder sucked. Never saw the image again. Lame trick.
Best trick ever would be introduce Allison and at some point have her turn back to the crowd and be introduced as Brooke.
I have not the faintest idea how to make that work. Or even do it the other way, we all liked Allison and she could come back for a cameo.
Picture the look on Penn & Tellers faces...
Someone make this happen!
Allíson got too old.
@@RickDarko But Brooke is 3 years older than Alyson
@@RickDarko she had enough money and wants to enjoy it with her family.
Allison could have caught Covid 19 & DIED; or a car crash; or other reason.
When Allison replaced the guy, people hated on her bad.
41:07 - It looks to me like Sierra is separating-out the cards in a pile of seven cards, not six. When she had four cards pulled off, there were three left. When the fifth card was pulled off, there were two left. I think I'm not following this at all. And then all of a sudden the cards that Sierra didn't pick are all restacked in Teller's hands, even though we never see him pick them up.
good catch, i didn't pay attention either, there were 7 cards, not 6. Teller picked the cards when camera angle changed, i hate it when they change camera angle, but i think they do it so that people can't look frame by frame or maybe just coincidence. P & T don't do camera tricks tho, they record all tricks in a way that you'd see them in person.
it was simple math and sleight of hand, nothing more. all those free choices are never free choices and if they are, then there's always multiple outs.
Teller can make a card disappear while you blink your eyes, he's been doing it basically his entire life, i'd be surprised if he couldn't do it after all those years.
they didnt claim to make 6 piles of 6. they just said we are seperating the cards into 6 piles
I don't like lazy magicians..the T-shirt canon was invented in 1994 and the commercial release was in 1998. So the 1991 story doesn't make sense. If you make up a story, make it in a way that is believable. Also it is insulting to the audience, because you are showing that you think they are all stupid
That story was A LIE?!
About 39:53 we see Penn pick up a coin from the table. We never see him put the coin back down, but at 39:58 there's a coin (almost certainly supposed to be the same coin) back on the table. Again, this is just bad editing. Let us see him put the coin there. And you never see, earlier, how the coin appears in the first place.
true, but you need to realize that they need to cut out a lot, because shows that are 45-50 mins, are usually recorded over few hours.
for example, ever noticed those who have translators, they always cut out the parts where translators do their work, this process most likely takes 10-15 minutes, but they almost always cut it out. some translators are good and do it in real-time, but most listen and then translate it, those parts are always cut out.
another thing you probably haven't noticed, is that they record 2-4 shows in 1 day. you can see this as audience is exactly same. same seats, same clothes.
it's same with any TV show really, they record more than 1 show at a time, they probably end up with like 10 hours of raw footage and then editors put it all together.
as a youtuber, i know how long it takes to edit a video to make it look good. you have to often go over it several times and you still find small mistakes.
that said, editors don't always have time. they have to get shows out in-time.
Sierra IS magic
Why does Alyson look so different!? 🤷🏼♀️
Bulimia
@@toseltreps1101 Nah Alyson must have gotten plastic surgery or something no way they'd replace her!
27:58 - One thing I LOVE about Brielle is that she wore sane-person shoes. Black leather of the same model, woulda been nice, but I keep waiting for women to "get over" this belief that you gotta wear painful dangerous heels all the time. I have some kind of mirror-neuron problem such that when someone on TV in a fake fight lands on their posterior, an actual jolt goes up MY spine, and I feel the pain of a piercing when I see other people's piercings (so far it's only tongue and eyebrow piercings, but it's getting worse). And in the past six months I've started to notice something new: I react to tattoos by feeling the needles going into MY skin. So when women DO NOT wear shoes that make ME wince every time they take a stride, I feel like I can just relax and enjoy their presence.
There was a sub-culture in Dublin Ireland's nightclubs long ago where high heels with stiletto-spikes were known as "f*ck-me" heels. I'd be just as glad never to see them again. If someone wants to be taller they can use a uniform platform that goes under the ENTIRE foot, from heel to toe, not just the heel while leaving the toe all bent against the floor.
damn, booke is still fine as hell.
it's bRooke, not booke lol. i like Alyson more, even at her old age she's still so cute
Penn, Teller, if they did not fool you prove it by doing the trick again without exposing the trick
I have been looking at Brook for many shows and just realized she has long hair! LOL
She reminds me of a pirate…
Allison was already terrible, but Brooke is still somehow a downgrade.
Poor girl is so hot but only owns one outfit.
Alyson also wore the same outfit all the time. They film a bunch of these on different days and then edit them around so each episode gets a varied enough mix of acts, and they can't have the announcer continually be magically changing clothes.
@@DrMcFly28 It was a joke genius. And she wears the same outfit on every episode of every season. SO they cannot change her clothes but they can magically change her from Alison to Brooke & Penn and Teller get different ties between different seasons...Figure that out.
Brooke should sue whatever plastic surgeon did that to her face. Her frozen mug is... disturbing. She's a lousy host too.
Troll
Brielle: With her back turned, she confirmed when Teller chose the cups even though Teller doesn't speak and she never asked "did you pick one yet?"
Must be magic!
@@rockford3943 Or a camera cut
Real magic.
Or it was a lucky guess. She kinda explained the trick. I think we all knew that if you let Penn go first he would pick the bullet. Fair enough and of course if it's between cards and clear cups and balls then he's picking cups and balls. She influenced them just like she said. She's a super fan. She brought actual props and it was a bold prediction trick that could have went wrong.... at least that's my opinion. Maybe she did do some moves or camera cuts. 🤷🏾♂️
@@MrYungfrasshe had multiple outs for the written prediction and probably an accomplice for the oral one.
why has Brooke worn the same exact outfit for every single show
So that they can cut the shows together without having Brooke wearing a different dress every other act. Was the same with Alyson.
She's like Marge Simpson only has 1 dress... gotta make the most of it...
@@rockford3943I never noticed Alison wearing the same thing... BUT... doesn't mean it didn't happen lol
Don't ask embarrassing questions

I am the only one who doesn't like Brooke?
I don’t know why everyone hates on Brooke. She’s funnier, more fun , and prettier than Allison. Plus Brooke isn’t as goofy and awkward like Allison. People dislike Brooke for no reason.
@@WavyFBaby its because her questions stink. she's obviously hotter, but like the biggest part of the job is lobbing up better questions for the magicians to knock out of the park with interesting anecdotes/answers, and she just isn't good at that yet. "How did you get into magic" just isn't going to be a good q to get to interesting places.
@@supitschillbro fair. Let’s give her some time to see how it pans out. But nevertheless, Allison is old news.
i don't dislike her, but i don't like her either. just average
@@WavyFBaby it's Alyson, not Allison and she's my favorite aswell, even at her old age she's still so cute. I'm still more used to Willow as that's who she played in Buffy the vampire slayer. i used to watch it as kid and Willow was always my favorite.
back then i didn't know much, but i liked the way she acted in the show and seeing her in P&T made me realized she was picked to play Willow, cuz she actually has similar personality. i think that nerdy-goofy thing makes her even cuter.
Brooke is just ... meh. i don't dislike her, but i don't see anything special in her either. just another rich girl.
2:53 - The producers really should be hauled over the coals for allowing an edit right before 2:56. I am sure that the magician performed this flawlessly and that without any edit we could not see what he was doing. But with the edit we are left wondering "what did they cut out that would have revealed the trick to us if left in?". That's just plain bad editing, bad bad bad.
There was no edit, stupid.
Thumbs down for Brielle being annoying in every possible way
I had to skip that first guy. I just couldn’t anymore
ookk? keep rolling your eyes at everything truly magical, his accent and voice wasn't the best, but his performance was perfect. the kind of sleight of hand he did is extremely difficult, but feel free to skip anything more complex than hamster level ;)
This show seems to have gone downhill. 😕
The first guy is strange.. He spoke english but speak non.
Sure this is a old show
