I think he actually just has one solved cube. the black table looks quite thin, but could hide a small compartment in the back (black compartments are common in magic) and other half paper/folded cubes that he can easily show. The solved cube is real and he really takes it out at times to move it a few times that he can easily back track with one hand to resolve when needed to inspire confidence. And even if that's right, the trick and presentation is amazing. He definitely deserved the trophy.
I thought the same thing about the patter!!!! It was perfect to take a 2 seconds trick into a 6 minute performance!! Glad that was the first thing they noted too ❤😊

@@Ceramic_disc Watch a video of a self resolving cubes. Those are totally unsuitable for this trick. The explanation with paper cubes makes much more sense
Amazing. Just amazing. I have a feeling they understood, but couldn’t completely get it but just by what you did, you did for them what you just did for me and I’ll take it with me for years to come.
Did you get a chance to see Helen Coghlan's 6th visit on the show? I believe it was also just in the last few weeks. Once again it defied a rational explanation. I'm not sure P & T tried very hard, the trick was that good.
Great act! At 40 years old, I taught myself how to solve a Rubik's Cube and also taught my teenage son. We both have speed cubes for fun now. I think I know the method, but that is because I watch a lot of Cubers on RUclips.
He's not switching cubes, just solving them. If a champion can solve a real random cube in seconds, this man can solve a few prepared ones even using just one hand. Well, I guess there really are some switching at some point but yeah, he's solving cubes.
Here is my current theory regarding the trick. Bryan has a real cube, and two faux-cubes. One of the faux-cubes is a fake solved cube, at 3:21 he places the "solved cube" behind the folder, and at 3:31 he places the real cube behind the folder, solves it quickly with one hand, and pulls it out again. He does this again and again until he pulls out the "solved cube" again at 4:35. He then places it back and it is never seen again. At 4:45 Bryan pulls out the second faux-cube alongside the real cube and the first faux-cube, making sure to only show three of it's faces, the red, white, and blue faces. I believe this is because the other three faces are those of the "green cube". When he pulls out the "green cube" at 5:12, the top face is not actually visible, and a second later he places that face on his palm, once again only allowing three faces to be seen. The most important part is that he never manipulates the faces of this faux-cubes, so they can be made compressible. Being compressible, they can both be slipped into the sleeve of the folder or some other location, cleanly disposing of them. But the real question isn't how he did it in theory, but how he did it in practice without it being instantly obvious. This would indeed logically explain the trick, but the explanation fails to account for the seemingly impossible skill with which it was done. I believe this is the mystery Penn and Teller could not solve, and thus why they admitted defeat. Even I must admit defeat, because after spending 20 minutes reviewing the trick over and over, going through specific points frame by frame, I still cannot figure out when and where he disposed of the false cubes.
As someone who can actually solve a cube in less than a minute. The quick 1 handed solve is a easy thing most people don't understand. but where did the other cubes go? Im thinking when he pulled out the 2 extra cubes, they're paper, or collapsible cubes that don't actually turn. Because there are some suspicious bumps to the table. The rest of the motions are him solving and scrabbling the same physicals cube.
Would also be my guess. It all goes from the moment he showed the 3 cubes at the same time (+ the green one). He makes 3 hand movements (for the 3 fakes) that seem to go deeper to the level of the table to stash them away. Which is also why he always made sure to make very obvious bumps and switches before, just slightly different.
Yeah he's "scrambling" the cubes but it's probably a moveset to get it to be 4 or so moves away from being solved. It'll look pretty scrambled by that point. Also he never rotates the green cube so it'll be a fake.
Im pretty sure hes clacking the big ring hes wearing on the table when he puts down the fake cubes. Its also more obvious when he has the green cube in his hand since he presents it for much longer and without movement, hes careful not to make it appear like it has no weight and never turns it.
I wondering why he was using a green folder specifically instead of just a paper. If the other cubes are paper fakes, he could hide them in the green folder. So when he rips up the folder he's essentially getting rid of the evidence of the trick.
I’ve watched most fool us performances and magic for 30+ years. Dumbfounded, no idea. This is up there now with my previous favourite, the Dani Daortiz. I miss the shock of surprise in magic now but you brought that back for me again!
5:10 - dude, the handling of the green cube to make sure the proper faces show out at the same time was so fluid. you had your hand motions so practiced to look unpracticed it's wild.
@@Mitch_Feral three - he shows the same 3 sides of the cube each time, but his hand movements are so fluid the angle he shows makes it seem like he's rotating it, when he's not. this is likely one of the "normal" 3 cubes he pulls out at the other point of the trick, but showing the opposite 3 sides with "scrambled" stickers. it means he has one less cube to handle while adding a really nice element of "wtf" to the trick Edit: 4:37 - cube '3' he never shows more than 3 sides - likely the back of that one has the green squares
Absurd. Slow the video down and you can count more than 3 colors. In fact I think he is exposing more than three faces purposely to disprove your theory. Besides, he mixes up the solved cube. Magicians want you to solve the trick with the wrong answer, which you did. I find Fool Us comments are full of absolutely silly explanations like this one.
@@aro327There is only one cube he is manipulating and it is a self solving cube. That is why you can always hear it hit the table when he sets it down, it resets to cube to solved. The other two cubes are folding and he places them in the table near the end when you see the folder shake.
Wow man! I love that effect, and you are a genius! I'm still leaning toward it's not even an illusion, but actual magic. Congratulations and all good wishes for 2024.
He told you the truth throughout the whole performance: he never once switched cubes. The nice part of the trick (other than the effortless quick solve) is where props went. My guess is the table, as thin as it is, has an open slit at the back.
congratulations for the 2nd Fool Us Penn & Teller Show, Bryan. I totally enjoyed your performance (from Vietnam). It makes me satisfied. What an excellent act!
WOW!! A second FU trophy! As an electrical engineer, I can think of two ways that you did your first trick. This one, my degree doesn't help a bit. Great routine, thoroughly entertaining and truly mystifying!
I love physics, science in general, biology, neurology, you name it, which is why I love magic. It encompasses the best of the former. Then you add such an incredible script and it just can't get any better.
when I saw the first cube and saw the aligned blocks I thought: ya well only few movements to solve that one, and with training also doable in less than a second in one hand. What I don't understand is how theres multiple cubes and then only oine :D well done and kudos for not making noise while solving them one-handed
Great trick, and I agree with P&T that you have phenomenal patter. Brooke even comments: "you had me on the hook the entire time". Funny enough, even though it seemed like there were a couple stumbles in the patter, you certainly had me on the hook the entire time too. Your previous Fool Us performance had flawless patter too -- you are just very, very likable and easy to listen to. I loved that you acknowledged exactly what someone would be thinking as you went along with the trick -- almost like playing along with the audience/P&T while doing the trick. That's a great style. As for how it was done... Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. At one point, there were 3 cubes visible simultaneously, and at least a fourth cube with different sticker types from those 3. At the end, there was only one. As far as I can tell, that only leaves two possibilities: a hidden compartment and a lot of cubes, or not a hidden compartment and a lot of cubes, and I don't think there was a hidden compartment. I'll leave it at that, but that's my guess anyway, and I kinda agree with P&T that you seem to arrive there logically after thinking about it, but it doesnt feel very satisfying. I loved the performance though!
I came to the decision that this is my favorite performance on Fool Us, and then Penn even said it was the best patter he's seen. Bravo. I don't think I've ever laughed that much during a trick. The thought of Bryan just having a plethora of cubes in his clothes cracked me up.
impressive trick, very impressive "sleight of cube", every cube he held has the same pattern though, he disguises it by using the different colors but look for a face with a 2x2 of 1 color, on top is a 2x1 of another color, next to it another 2x1 and in the corner a single color with some practice this would make the cube in an easy state for a 1 hand solve since it only needs 2 rotations
It's obvious he's speed solving cubes at various points, what isn't clear is how he managed to hide at least two out of three cubes during the performance. It can't be shells, since we see every cube being turned at some point, and shells obviously can't turn.
@@sfdntk, the green cube can easily be a shell, since he doesn't rotate it nor shows fully. The other two cubes are only shown with him standing behind the desk, so, theoretically, he could put them into the jacket...
That is a wonderful routine.. Absolutely loved that.. Congratulations and a wonder performance and routine.. Oh and congratulations on your family too..
OK.. This is one that I'm going to call a Kostya. It took me YEARS to finally figure out how Kostya Kimlat fooled them. This was beautiful. Absolutely perfect mental and physical misdirection. This is now in my Top 5.
Due to the way he's mic'd you can hear the cube turn on that one. You can also hear a high click when he says "NOW" so clearly something important prop-related happens at that moment.
@@sordel5866 he also has collapsible cubes im guessing that he stuffed into the pocket of the folder at the end thats how he got the green and managed to switch from solved to unsolved the whole time. i think he solved the one real one and mixed it back up several times throughout the act while using the dummys as decoys. but im no magician so who knows. he could be gandalf for all i know
I once read a comment which I can't forget: We the "commoners" understand 10% of the trick and claim that we're not fooled, and magicians don't understand 10% of the trick and admit that they aren't fooled. Being a commoner, I understood how the first "harder" part is done but have absolutely no idea about the second "easier" part. Damn it, man. Well executed!
Beyond an "expert one-handed cube solving skills", the real "table magic" happens right here: 4:48. After that point he actually DID show an impressive organizational skill, if you know what I mean :) Great trick by the way!
Putting the magic back in magic. I can imagine how you did it but that's not the trick. The trick is we assume what is happening and it isn't. There is only one cube. Total mind bender and totally new and improved concept; Telling the truth...most of the time. Love it.
I love the bit at the end where Teller is looking at the table shaking his head in a what the heck way. Did Teller figure it out at that moment, or remain stumped?
Looks like he's studying it, but from that angle I can't imagine that whatever the trick was would be visible anyway. If it was, the guy probably would have not left the table out to be examined like that.
I think Teller did figure it out. But it wasn't the table. I believe I figured it out, but I really don't want to say explicitly here. But basically, slowing it down at 4:35 shows one part. (Which is damn impressive even if you know *logically* how it's happening. To use Penn's words. Because it's amazing sleight of hand I'd be hard pressed to produce another example.) And at the reveal, he really isn't "switching cubes" something else is happening. Basically, it's to do withe cube and his power of suggestion.
I'm not surprised they liked the patter as it deconstructed (in part) the trick, which they themselves love to do. I have no idea how the trick itself was done, though I observed a lot of careful placement and positioning going on behind the screen, which I assume was necessary. Actually, thinking about it, I think I figured out the secret: the entire studio audience was added in post.
My best guess is that he had a bunch of cubes and stored them on his body the last time he was behind the screen, then only took one of them out, placed it, took the paper and ripped it - but absolutely perfectly executed, and I am probably wrong.
He admitted that he doesn't know how to solve the cube "Oh God no!" was his reply. Therefore, one might conclude that the cube has a mechanism that allows it to "snap back" to a solved cube.
Nice effect and great presentation. For me personally, rubic tricks always seem low impact because we know that, with practice, solving in 3-4 moves using one hand can be done in ~1sec. So i am sure that P&T were not fooled by this part of the trick. So they must have been fooled on when/where the dump was made. As there were 2 likely places, i assume they chose the wrong place (probably due to some very nice misdirection). Congrats on the trophy!
I saw what happens the first time through!!!! There is only one cube... but it's not a regular cube. You can see as he scrambles the cube he needs to hold in a way that it doesn't automatically spring back into positions. The little cubes are held by elastics that "unwinds" the cube as he sets it down. You can see a couple times when he's scrambling the cube it tries to snap back and he has to hold it a certain way so it stays mixed.
Except that he’s holding multiple cubes throughout the performance. In fact at 3:00 in you can see a side view of a second cube behind the folder while he’s holding another one. So close and yet so far.
@@gregkowalchuk3562 Except that hiding a prop or two or three while keeping the "working" prop front and center would probably be closer to the explanation.
I've watched enough speed cubing to know exactly how you do this "trick" and it's possible to do one handed. You've taken one skill and incorporated a magic trick around it, very impressive.
So well done. So he straight-out says he's not switching cubes, but when he talks about the cube being a standard cube, he prefaces it with "if" so yeah, two must be fake and the main one must somehow be able to be commanded to switch its faces quickly. So I think it's an engineering effort which shouldn't be too hard since there is a lot of space inside those cubes if you can manage what happens when twisting parts of it. I'm just wondering whether he triggers it manually or remotely.
The solution, I believe, is much easier. There is only one cube. There are three sleeves / shells that fit over that cube: one solved, one mixed, one green.
Honestly 10 seconds into your act I realised i didn't care if the trick was good or not, I was just elated to be watching such an outstanding performer. Loved the earnest delivery.

Bryan, that was freaking awesome! Way to go man! As a father of two daughters I admire your attitude towards your kid! Cheers, buddy!
This guy seems so sincere, I really liked him a lot. Great trick and great personality
im a passionate magic fan. that's been said i watched a lot. your presentation is simply top class with impeccable delivery timing and charm. Many can't do that. Ill be remembering your name as one of the best magician. Pls keep magic-ing and hopefully i'll stumble on you anytime soon! Cheers mate.
I was smiling ears to ears thru-out the entire show. Well deserved FU trophy!!
Glad that was the first thing they noted too ❤😊
I love magicians, not only are they gonna blow your mind, they also have the patter and the ability to keep the whole crowd laughing while also scratching their heads, it's a wonderful form of art.
It was a self resolving cube
@@Ceramic_disc Watch a video of a self resolving cubes. Those are totally unsuitable for this trick. The explanation with paper cubes makes much more sense
That was really smooth and really enjoyable to watch. Well played out and presented.
Amazing. Just amazing. I have a feeling they understood, but couldn’t completely get it but just by what you did, you did for them what you just did for me and I’ll take it with me for years to come.
I'm pretty sure I've watched every episode of Fool Us so far, and this is hands down, one of my top 5 favorite tricks! So well done!
Did you get a chance to see Helen Coghlan's 6th visit on the show? I believe it was also just in the last few weeks. Once again it defied a rational explanation. I'm not sure P & T tried very hard, the trick was that good.
It‘s a self resolving cube
How did he do it @@CharlesSmith-io9fp
Great act! At 40 years old, I taught myself how to solve a Rubik's Cube and also taught my teenage son. We both have speed cubes for fun now. I think I know the method, but that is because I watch a lot of Cubers on RUclips.
He should have drop a bunch of cubes at 9:18 😆
The most I have repeated a fool us performance. Thanks Brian for a the wonderful performance. Very entertaining.
He's not switching cubes, just solving them. If a champion can solve a real random cube in seconds, this man can solve a few prepared ones even using just one hand. Well, I guess there really are some switching at some point but yeah, he's solving cubes.
Congrats Brian! You have great showmanship & energy. What an awesome trick!!
Russian dolls?... 🤔
Here's a hint. He's never actually solving a cube.
Impressive performance! Penn’s radiant review was a prize of its own! ❤
I usually dont do comments, but this routine is REALLY one of kind.
Well done! 👏🏻
This is amazing. One of the best routines I’ve ever seen
Curious how many sides of the cube you think are green, if you dont mind me asking.
@@Mitch_Feral three - he shows the same 3 sides of the cube each time, but his hand movements are so fluid the angle he shows makes it seem like he's rotating it, when he's not. this is likely one of the "normal" 3 cubes he pulls out at the other point of the trick, but showing the opposite 3 sides with "scrambled" stickers. it means he has one less cube to handle while adding a really nice element of "wtf" to the trick
Edit: 4:37 - cube '3' he never shows more than 3 sides - likely the back of that one has the green squares
@@Mitch_Feralhe’s also setting the cubes up in a position to be solved easily
OH MY.
Worth the wait. Rare time that the sequel was better.
Empire Strikes Back, The Dark Knight, Bryan Saint's Second Appearance!
when I saw the first cube and saw the aligned blocks I thought: ya well only few movements to solve that one, and with training also doable in less than a second in one hand. What I don't understand is how theres multiple cubes and then only oine :D well done and kudos for not making noise while solving them one-handed
Laughed out loud a couple of times. Great trick!
Bryan Saint's magic trick is a great example of the power of magic. It shows how magic can be used to create surprise and delight in the viewer.
Simple yet so complex, brain pretzel! Phenomenal art!
Great Stuff….we need more of this in the world today
impressive trick, very impressive "sleight of cube",
every cube he held has the same pattern though, he disguises it by using the different colors
but look for a face with a 2x2 of 1 color, on top is a 2x1 of another color, next to it another 2x1 and in the corner a single color
with some practice this would make the cube in an easy state for a 1 hand solve since it only needs 2 rotations
Fantastic. Your first entry on Fooled Us was great but this one was even better. Well done!

The original Rubik's king. You paved the way for this act.
Isn't this actually one of your methods?

Cubes seemed to change size during the act. Great act. Well done.
Twice during the performance I had my mouth wide open. Wow. Amazing trick. Thank you
The sleight of hand was pretty dang sweet. And the one-hand solve behind the jacket; very smooth, and a nice added touch. :)
Due to the way he's mic'd you can hear the cube turn on that one. You can also hear a high click when he says "NOW" so clearly something important prop-related happens at that moment.
@@sordel5866 He's just legitimately solving the cube one handed. There's tons of videos on youtube of people doing it under 10 seconds.

Well done Bryan. I was hoping for a display of pyramid-shaped or 8X8 cubes in the reveal, but an empty table also works fine...
They could have at least asked to examine the cube, but, I don't think that last cube was the trick one. Loved this trick.
If they did ask, I would of pulled the old cube into candy trick and say "What Cube?"
Yeah the last one was the only real one. I guess technically they could ask to see what's on the table, but I think that's against their rules.
I’m with Penn, you got me engaged & hooked early. Excellent patter.
This is by far my favorite one. Very well done.
Exactly! So organized even the table wasn’t sure what was on it
hahaha amazing presentation! Loved it and listened you like a child!
I love that Teller looks at the table in the end like "How the hek did he do it?"
You are so fun to watch! I enjoyed your performance tremendously!
This is absolutely one of the best magic performances I've seen.
It was a electric selfresolving cubic
Bryan, you have a great speaking voice and - I'm sure you've heard this before - you sound so much like Brian from Family Guy!
IIRC, Bryan is also a professional voiceover artist.
Putting the magic back in magic. I can imagine how you did it but that's not the trick. The trick is we assume what is happening and it isn't. There is only one cube. Total mind bender and totally new and improved concept; Telling the truth...most of the time. Love it.
absolutely an amazing performance! Thank you!
You killed it man! Awesome work, I enjoyed every second
We can see Teller saying "that was fabulous" and I couldn't agree more.
Bryan Saint is so talented, I admire him so much
probably the best patter i have ever seen period. well done Bryan.
Beautifully done with a very satisfying ending
No idea how it is done, but check out the orange face to white face color shift at 6:30.
He just put the cube down with the orange face on the table. White is adjacent to orange and opposite to yellow on a standard Rubik's cube.
Shells 🙂 I had not thought of that but requires the great cleanup behind the coat. Enjoyed it, very well executed.
Perhaps he is thinking why they didn't ask him if they can examine the table.
@@NicNico bro stop it you have no idea lmao. You don't want to say because people would point out the holes.
@@NicNicohe was holding multiple cubes
Echoing others here, that patter is **divine**
Fantastic trick and performance!
Love the show!!!! Excellent talent!!!! Well done!!!
He was so shocked that he looked so disappointed at the result lmao
He admitted that he doesn't know how to solve the cube "Oh God no!" was his reply. Therefore, one might conclude that the cube has a mechanism that allows it to "snap back" to a solved cube.
Obvious trick: he was removing the stickers and reapplying them.
Haha, certainly not.
Thanks for the wonderful video! It really stood out.
Each time I think I have an idea as to how it or at least part of the act done there is something that wouldn't work with that method.
VERY nice.
I think that's it. One cube that springs back and the rest are shells that fit over each other
The way Teller dead eye stairs down the cube at the end is almost as great as your act. Well done
Stairs is something you walk up or down! Stares is what you do with your eyes!
This is by far the best trick I have seen on this show... Most of them seem faked/staged... This one not so much. Well done.
Google 'Instant Rubik'.
There are rubiks cubes that once you scramble them, you set them down and they revert back to the solved state
The solution, I believe, is much easier. There is only one cube. There are three sleeves / shells that fit over that cube: one solved, one mixed, one green.
