Don't show anything you are testing. Standing in the way. Both rookies evidently
You got me there Alan. Complete rookie.
Thank you for this video. Saved me lots of searching for the answer to my problem. My fridge was giving error No AC, the LP worked. We had a technician out he did get the LP working. Nothing worked before he did a few things. I did change out the thermostat and that fixed part of the problem. Then the power cord. Still same error. Saw your video and saw where the AC fuse was blown. So I changed mine out to a 5amp, that blew after an hour. Changed it to a 7.5amp. Left it on overnight without putting it back together all the way. Was still working and cooling as it should. I've put it back together and have left it on. Thank you so much for helping me out in a very frustrating situation.
Glad I could help Frieda.
You two are hilarious and the out takes are killin me. Another great video.
Thanks
Way to go guys having a little fun on the job helps morale and productivity.
Yes it does.
Dudes!!! I love my West (by God) Virginia!!! I just arrived home from a couple of days camping, with my Norcold pretending it is working. I say “pretending” as now that I have arrived home, and let it sit overnight, turn it on and it is not flashing its light anymore. I’m on the wait and see test of cooling. If it is cooling, I have the intermittent problem challenge! Thanks for doing these videos!
Thanks for watching. I hope it works now.
So glad you had such an expert to train you! Cameron is an amazing teacher. Hope you learn more Hillbilly, keep up the good work guys.
I am trying. Cam is a great teacher..
Thank you for this!! Mine was showing “no AC” but the pilot would light. I’m going out to check that fuse!!
Awesome. Keep me posted.
@@hillbillyrv well, it’s not the blown fuse so we’ve ordered a new heating element & went ahead and ordered a new thermistor since the unit is 11 years old. Might as well update what we can. Several parts are discontinued now.
Since you two are always together, Cameron wears his hat forward so the your advertisement shows whether you two are coming or going!
Keep the grunt! He has a whole lot to learn! Just Subscribed too!
lol.....never thought of that.
Yea good thanks. Very informative and entertaining keep them coming.
I will.
NewSub due to Cameron and his decades of experience… oh and the hat flip outtakes are classic!!
Glad you came on board. I hope you enjoy the videos.
Cameron good job! Please be patient with the new guy. We all start somewhere and he does show some ability.
Awww thanks. I am trying real hard to learn from Cameron.
He's a good helper and yes I think he has natural talent for the rv business.
This was awesome, I wish my teachers were as entertaining as yall are, hell then I would now know how to do trigonometry, but I don't want to seem bitter..hey good job, yall did help me..
Thanks.....
Thank you very much, even though you can't see the whole process it was very helpful, at least now I know where the problem could be.
You are welcome
Rolling On Floor Laughing My Ass Off. You guys are a trip. You might think about taking this show on the road 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
This show is already on the road.
@@hillbillyrv Oh! Well, good going 🤗👏👏👏
Hey Cameron you need to teach the new guy to wear that hat the right way keeps the sun out of his eyes : ) Great video guys always have fun at work makes the job way more enjoyable : ) Until next video be safe and have fun.
Thanks for watching Frank. 😁
You two remind me of my favorite reality show: Southern Steel. Subscribed.
Thanks
I really enjoyed this, very informative and detailed, video. Glad "Kenny" didn't die. (South Park)
You b$(@;/ you killed Kenny.
That was a funny show.
Excellent, easy to follow for a rv “greenie”😎
Glad I could help
Thank you fro. Wyoming. My camper refrigerator don't get old on a c
There could be several causes.
Funny and informative , great video, stick with RV techs are in demand
Yes they are. All trades are in high demand.
Closer camera shots to show fuses and wires you are working on would be really helpful.
Did the refer throw off a fault code when not working on ac?
I don't remember. This was a while back.
Resolved my issue. Your clip also showed to test the heater which can rule out the problem of shorted out element. Now why is-did the fuse blow? I chock it up to a power surge from bad generator from previous owner as I have always used a inverter set or land line and never used camper more than a week so propane use was not a concern till we used over a a week and propane was being used at an alarming rate.
Awesome
Miss the radio shack. Now its ace hardware or Amazon. Thanks Don
I miss them too.
Good video lol , just a thought An infrared temperature gun is a skin saver safety first lol , not too expensive lots of uses in the RVing world.
Oh man….you are no fun.
Just came across this older video. We sure miss him!!
Me too
Does the NORCOLD require a lit pilot light when in AC MODE ? Mine is a 1210SS and it works and cools in LP mode with the pilot light burning blue but when I switch to AC mode as I’m in a campground with a solid connection and the pilot light goes out and fridge stops cooling
There is no pilot light on the refrigerator. Only flame on and flame off. If the 120 volt ac side is not working, there is something wrong with it. Figure out where you are losing the 120 ac power.
Good job Greenie.
Thanks Tom.
That’s amazing Cameron you can teach old dogs new tricks lol 😆
Yes sometimes I can.....
@@cameronmcgrew8864 right on
Nice work, quite a team
Thank you.
Cameron another fine mess ya got yourself out of, and thanks for sharing all your fantastic knowledge. 😵💫😵💫🤣🤣👍
He did great, didn't he?
Yes he did there’s hope for you yet. 😁😁
No problem Red, always happy to help
It's hard to find good help Cameron. That old fart seems like a keeper. 🤣
ha ha ha
My Norcold refrigerator works fine on LP, but intermittent on AC. On AC, it works for few hours then will turn to LP. I need to turn it off and on again to make it back to AC mode, sometime it holds on AC for another few hours but sometime it turns to LP immediately. I tried with different 120V source, the symptom was the same it means it was not external power source problem.
Could be a bad board or some interference? Norcold is real sensitive to AC ripple. Pretty sure I have a video on that subject.
Great video, thank you for sharing.
Our pleasure Hugo.
What about using a amp meter to check for current to the heater
sure, but I just like to ohm them.
May I ask you? My Norcold 3 way works on LP but only intermittently. It keeps shutting of and no flame after it appears to be working fine. I turn it on AC and it flashes HI AC. I took the control panel off and cleaned and did grease the connections. The control panel is giving me no warning when its not working,it thinks things are fine when the flame is out and my foods unthawing. The first indication of troubles I had were tge fridge area freezing food but I adjusted the thermostat and that problem solved but now this. Thanks so much!
Control panel?
It could be several things. You need to call someone local.
I am having a problem with my norcold also, the fuses are good but the black power input wire is just humming and no power is going to the fridge. Any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate it
Humming wire? Never seen that before. I don’t know what to tell you.
Infrared thermometer to test coil? No sink involved
😂. Yeah, he’s a keeper!!
Ha ha
Thanks a bunch..!
You are welcome.
Really worked out great...the 3 amp fuse was hard to find....Eureka..! Home Depot..! Wow..!
@@henryfaulkner6051 Awesome
Cameron have you come across a fault code on a n822 norcold that looks like a n
Probably "no cool" fault.
I have a 2005 monica motor home with a norcold refrigerator. When I turn it on while it is plugged into a shore line it flashes No ac it works fine on the generator but not when it’s plugged into the shore line what could my problem be.
That's a strange one Barbara. I can't imagine what would cause that.
What caused that fuse to blow? Seems like it would have to be a short circuit for that fuse to have a black spot on the glass, overload would just melt the fuse element, where a short circuit would make the fuse element explode.
Don't know, but a new fuse fixed it.
Hi I have a Atwood fridge mine goes off on propane after running for 12 hrs if I try to restart it it won't stay on or so seems I have to wait a few hrs to keep it on
It only burns when it needs to. If the fridge is sufficiently cold, it won't burn.
@@hillbillyrv no I mean the fridge stops and when I try light it up again u hear the igniter and no propane , I have to leave it be for 1 to 2 hrs then I can light it back up ,
@@geostlouis7652 You need to figure out if the board is not sending power out to the gas valve or if the gas valve is getting power then it's not opening.
@@hillbillyrv ok and how do I do that process, I really thank you for all ur help , has this is on warranty and the r.v place don't want to fix this problem since day 1 , 2016 brand new r.v I keep getting excuses from them. Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 ♥️
@@geostlouis7652 If it is under warranty, you really should get it to a service center. Maybe a different one or a mobile guy.
How do I fix the drain on my fridge ? Water pool's in the bottom I've ran a brush in the drain it's open but doesn't drain.
If it is open and runs downhill, it has to drain. That's the plumber's code. 😁
Better keep the Green guy!
Thanks Ed.
Ok, I’ve replaced the fuse, heating element & thermistor on my Norcold N641 fridge and the no ac went away but the fridge still isn’t cooling. What do I need to try next? I really can’t afford over $1k for a new one. Thanks in advance…
Sorry I can't help you. Friges are really hard to diagnose in person, but nearly impossible to diagnose over messages.
@@hillbillyrv ok, thanks for the previous help. At least I know what isn’t the problem.
You have a Guam shirt!
Cameron was born on Guam and lived his first 14 years of life there.
Just cut all the wires and disconnect everything, lol that's what a new guy would do. Any suggestions for why I'm getting water under my refrigerator after camping and driving home?? I think I know, but a new gut could give me a second Opinion
Yes, disconnect everything. Probably the drain tube from refrigerator is broken on not in it's proper place.
@@hillbillyrv that's what I thought, but it only leaks on our way home after camping, not when we go, and it's been on longer at home, anyway thanks for you 2nd opinion 😀 👍
@@camperbum Sorry I can't be more help.
@@hillbillyrv I'll figure it out and let you know what I find, I think my drain hose may be the problem, I put water up top, it comes out, but it didn't go outside, so made some changes to the door, now it comes out, next I plugged the end of the hose, ran some water in the tray, left it for an hour, still no leaks 🤔 if I lived close to you, I would have the new guy give it look 😉 thanks ttul.

You are welcome.
Great
Thanks
Nice work Cam. That new guy's kinda cocky. Not sure he's gonna cut it.
Guess I better look for another line of work.
@@hillbillyrv Lol.

10:45 How do you spell RV?
I went back and watched it a couple of times. I don’t know what you mean.

I just had to guess, but I think that is what he was saying.
@@hillbillyrv that's what I was getting out by trying to read his lips and the pointing keep up the work with him I think he can keep it going with another 25 years under his belt.
It is hard to see what you are doing while standing in front of the camera
Yes
Hey Cameron tell the "new" guy if he wants to be a good laborer he has to learn to anticipate. Over time you should be saying "get me this" less & less because it's already at your fingertips. 😊
You expect a lot out of the "new guy".
@@hillbillyrv I did say "Over time". 🤣 Love the videos. 😊
@@Stephen_C I love that can I use it?
Fyi if the ohms was high it wouldn’t have blown the fuse.
Sorry guys, but I ain’t buying it. Young guys do need to learn and gain experience over time but being an old geezer myself you can’t beat the experience of an old guy gained through trial and error. But it’s good he’s willing to learn a trade, many aren’t.
Nope seriously. Cameron has over 25 years experience and is only 17 years old.....ha ha he is a good kid and loves to learn.
