Ep 8 proved that 'RoP' is an awesome show (10/10)! 🔥🔥🔥 I mean who could have thought that the stranger is Gandalf? I thought this was Dumbledore or Obi-Wan. I'm so excited for season 3!!!
Galadriel: hits solid ground at 80 mph like a bug on a windshield. Gil-Galad: The darkness is too powerful, but fortunately, we have some magical physics defying plot armor!
I was in awe of the latest episode of The Rings of Power, where Galadriel stood firm and yelled: Fe fi fo fiddy, who's gonna help me oil up Diddy!?' Truly one of the moments of all time.
Even Shadow of War, a completely insane power fantasy, had a better plan to fight a Balrog. The main character sided with Carnan, some kind of force of Nature and she conjured enormous beasts to be the ones to take the blunt of the fighting.
I really can't believe that there are fans out there, true fans that read the books, not the ones that read wikipedia pages and know Tolkien and Lord of the Rings from there, that believe the Rings of Power is a good show or that believe the last 2 episodes of season 2 saved the entire series and if they continue on this note, the show will be a success... I really can't believe this... I mean, there is not possible to like Tolkien and Lord of the Rings and at the same time, to like Rings of Power. Rings of Power is not Tolkien at all, nothing from it feels like Tolkien, only the names are from Tolkien, but that's it. Peter Jackson's movies, with all their things not Tolkien and their flaws, at least it felt like something from him and was something of epic proportions, that you could have named it "based on Tolkien's works". Rings of Power is not based on his works, only uses the names from his works and created a fuckfest of epic proportions! And because of these people that continue to say that they like Rings of Power, we will never have a good show about it, they will continue to do this subpar series with writers and creators that hate Tolkien's work or they don't understand it...
A friend of mine told me the series is more loyal to the books. I asked her if she'd read them. She hasn't. I told her she didn't know what she was talking about. She didn't like that.
Sauron was this close in putting his Barad Dur in Galadriel's Golden Forest but alas it never happened. Oh well, maybe he can try his chances with Gilga-Daddy.
Shame you didn't touch on how Robin Hood from the Hood got stabbed twice at the end of the second last episode. Just to come back as if it never happened one episode later
I, too, am a fan of Die Hard, watch it every Christmas. I stopped watching cringe of power when Guyladrield committed sudoku in ep1 and it took me 9 hours to get there.
Never have and never will. Never thought I was gonna see my favorite book brought to the screen. And I can say with confidence they haven't done that. This just shares names and places with the Silmarillion, nothing else.
Fun fact: Jeff Bozez said in a interview just 3-4 years before he decided to fund and start production of Rings of Power, that one of his son is the biggest LOTR fan, to the point where his entire bedroom is filled with it.. Makes you wonder, if the main purpose for doing this show - was to get closer to his son? You always hear how distinct and weird relationship that children have with their billionaire parents (because they are extremely busy etc)
I would not be surprised if they canceled it. The idea of presenting the story of the second age was a good one but this clearly isn’t going to satisfy on that front. It is hard to believe this is making money and it has failed as “fan service”
I think you are correct. That's exactly what it does. They gave it a prompt to write an epic and grand DEI fantasy screen play "and make it cool like Harry Potter and Peter Jackson's stuff and a little bit of Mad Max." It just reassembled tropes, borrwed lines and piece-mealed together a nonsene plot to make it happen.
It is quite perplexing that Saruman and Gandalf, both maiars, have powers like telekinesis and such while Sauron, who is also a Maiar, does not seem to have such abilities...
Sauron can do anything that the plot requires, and won't use those abilities when the plot requires it. There's no such thing as consistent magic system and power dynamics (or even basic continuity for that matter) in this excrement from hell called Cringe of Power
He does, but only at certain times. He made a few elf soldiers kill themselves an episode or two ago with a simple thought. However, he didn't use that ability when he was being stabbed by a gang of orcs,
Dangit, now I want someone to make that clip, where it's Zoolander instead of Obviously Sauron (I've no clue what his name was besides Obviously Sauron).
Actual fans make better content for their IP. Same with Star Wars. So many youtubers who posted incredible fan movies, even since youtube began. Disney could never top the work of a true fan, with their lazy DEI writers
If they made Sauron an emotionless psychopath that purely wants control and order it would have been good. Only time he should show emotion is when it is calculated and manipulative.
Absolutely, Sauron wasn’t this conflicted anti hero who just wanted to guide people, make a world that people of all races could truly thrive in and have someone who would really understand him and would care about him at his side, he has feelings too, he’s only human…umm no. He’s not. Not at all. He’s an ancient being of power akin to a fallen angel. He’s not conflicted and desperate for a kindred spirit, he’s a goal oriented megalomaniac who has zero sympathy, compassion or empathy. No one around him is a friend, he has no interest in friends, they are tools. And he will use them without mercy or hesitation. Where Morgoth wanted the destruction of Middle Earth, Sauron craves order. He sees himself as the rightful heir to Morgoth’s claim as ruler of the world. Why they have him portrayed here as someone just desperate to connect with others, pining for Galadriel, crying over Celebrimbor, asking an orc its name 🤦🏻♀️ No. just no. Sauron doesn’t care, he is so far beyond desiring anything that “small”. For him the races of middle earth are beneath him, lesser, weak, ants he could crush with his boot. But he is a creator, and he will create one amazing ant colony, and rule over it, as is his right. I just can’t with this show, did anyone even read the source material? Even google the source material? Read some cliff notes? Anything? It’s literally like they decided to make their own story and slap Tolkien’s name on it so it had an already made fan base. This is like bad fan fiction. I just…I can’t. I’m sorry for the rant but, this show. It just…urgh.
@@sionsidhe9 obviously they didn’t have the rights to the Silmarillion (thanks Eru 🙏 😃 ), but they had enough ok Sauron to make properly. I think that ultimately the woke minded creators cannot accept things like good and evil, they're just concepts to them. It's all relative to them, thats why you get the orc sympathy parts which do not fit. That’s fine if you want to make something like game of thrones, it’s interesting in its own right, but that’s not what Tolkiens world is. The woke creators do not believe people can be born/created evil. To them it must be that Sauron didn't have enough youth clubs growing up and thats why he wants everyone enslaved. Good point you raised on how he shouldn’t care about the orc’s name. He isn’t supposed to care about things beneath him as he sees it. His arrogance to lesser beings is his fatal flaw. It’s what gets him killed in the end. Fortunately we have another 20 years before The Silmarillion copyright runs out so until then we can live without Hollywood wiping their arse with it.
@@bradley4706 The thing is I usually enjoy nuanced villains, I think it makes a character much more interesting and compelling when the viewer, or reader, can see them as something more than just good guys vs bad guys. Even the most unredeemable characters are made more affective when we see just a sliver of humanity. But that’s just the thing, Sauron isn’t human. He never was. And any part of him that was conflicted, like when Morgoth was taken prisoner and he initially wished to repent, but when told he would have to go before the Valar themselves to seek that and in fear of such a prospect, fled, is long gone. The fact that they don’t have the rights to the Silmarillion means they actually could have added in characters with the same style arc as this Sauron, and easily had no issue with it. Maybe as humans some of the Nazgûl where truly good people, maybe they fought their ring’s power for centuries, battling with the control it had over them with every part of them until it was literally impossible to continue, like watching a character with the honor, dignity and strength of Aragorn slowly fall because there honestly was no possibility, no hope, one human could fight that kind of power forever. Maybe the Mouth of Sauron was lost and alone when Sauron found him, maybe he was more a victim who was broken into becoming a villain. They had the opportunity to tell those exact kind of stories, so much of Tolkien’s work could have been expanded upon with complete creative freedom while still maintaining the spirit of the original story. Instead the producers just assumed they could create something different and it would sell because they assumed they are giving audiences what they want. Clearly they don’t know their audience, or more likely, were more interested in ensuring their audience was at the very least large enough that they turned a profit. Not every show or movie has to cater to the likes of every type of person. What’s that expression, try to please everyone, and you please no one. That’s part of the issue here, they have so many different characters, many that don’t fit the story that’s being told or the character being portrayed, but at least they all play to a certain demographic, no they don’t. In trying to make the show desirable to everyone they ended up instead pushing away the built in audience that already existed.
Let me clarify one thing: NEVER has Galadriel been portrayed as a sword-wielding warrior by Tolkien. All the evil forces of the Tolkien universe are not meant to have both-sides backgrounds, they were just pure evil. No point in trying to defend it or shoot it down in flames in fifteen minutes videos. It's very simple: it sucks.
I'm just waiting for it to be revealed that this whole series is a stage play within the real middle earth and the elves watching just walk out gracefully - despite their longevity they still have no time for this shit...
It would make sense if the story of the Rings of Power were being recounted by the drunk Mirkwood prison guard elves in the Hobbit amongst themselves, getting all of the lore wrong like the show did, before they passed out and Bilbo stole the key to let Thorin and company out.
The 2 second clips you play throughout this video, contrast ROP and LOTR perfectly. Even the 2 seconds of LOTR you really feel the quality. Its just a pure masterpiece
LOL, Gil-Galad turning his ring around his finger to use its magic reminds me a wonderful Czech family series "Arabella". One student from Czechia (which was Czechoslovakia back then, the series was made in 1980s) met a magic princess Arabella, whose parents were ruling the Land of Fairy Tales and somehow appearead into human dimension. All of them had magic rings and used them by turning them on their fingers and mumbling some spells. Really nice feat, Amazon! I never thought that my ChildHood Favourite Number One will return under the guise of Tolkien's fanfic!
Well, you see, it's because Guyladriel read the script and in season 3 Sauron will tattoo "Damaged" on his forehead and she also knows she will be busy forging a shackle out of Morgoths crown so she can shackle Morgoth after he shows up for 1 scene so she can't at that time teleport to Sauron to tell him to heal himself.
She is supposed to be a super elf from ancient times, blablabla the Wonder Woman excuse, which is not a bad thing. But sure, if both characters looked more imposing in live-action, that would improve the illusion. Blanchett is +- 5'8, use some camera tricks and she looks 6'3 or something, now that's a more convincing super elf

69 of them.
I love the part where sauron said from henceforth call me Sharon and created the new movement of olm orc life matter. I shed a tear
"The token elf" *ahem* "The TOLKIEN elf"
From these clips, there is a nastiness that Tolkien would have been appalled at.

Rings of power is a fantastic show

I'm currently reading The Silmarillion. Every clip in this video breaks my heart.
King Durin had amazing tactic to save mountain jumping on Balrog with axe, leaving Balrog apsolutley confused.
Exactly, to like this show in any way is to p£as on Tolkien's grave .
just watch the show, i mean if you keep watching reviews whether you like it or not RoP has your attention and interest
You have to understand something my friend , They'll always be people who will eat S#1t if they're told it's gourmet
They did the orcs rlly good but well thats it i guess.
A friend of mine told me the series is more loyal to the books. I asked her if she'd read them. She hasn't. I told her she didn't know what she was talking about. She didn't like that.
If I’d watched RoP Ep. 8, I fear I might have died from endless body-wrenching waves of ecstasy after such a perfect show. ☠️
Stop lol
Yeah it's ecstatic like being on an electric chair
Sauron was this close in putting his Barad Dur in Galadriel's Golden Forest but alas it never happened. Oh well, maybe he can try his chances with Gilga-Daddy.
Sauron definitely put his Barad-dur in Celebrimbor.
Didn't think the fandom was this down bad lmao.
Seeing "Galadriel" and "Sauron" fight with swords hurts my brain. 🤨
Sauron cries so much he needs some anti-depressants and therapy sessions.
The script has no crying actually, it's just that sometimes the actors realize what they have signed up for and can't help it.
Reminds me of a lot of man-face people in real life

I'm a die hard LOTR fan as you can tell by my name. I have not watched one minute of this series.
yeah right...
I am a die hard Tolkien fan as well, and I wish I could say the same.
You have chosen….wisely
I lost it at "She's moving like a JCB, with a punctured kidney"!!
EPIC!!!
So was his son happy with the show, or dose he just hate his dad more now?
"He said, 'Don't F it up Dad.' Anyway, I always hated that kid."

Not Saruman: "You pity him who's blade was at your throat?"
Nori: "Yes."
Sums up the Refugees Welcome crowd perfectly
Spot on.
You can still pity someone but that doesn't mean you have to make the stupid decision of trusting them

@@Puddlef1sh Nah they can't just shut up about their Nazi ideas, not even in a LOTR related video
The elf robinhood from da hood. I can't...I just can't. Thank you Woke Critic for this Sunday.
I genuinely expected him to, “nah bitch” force lift Galadriel back up when she yeeted herself off that cliff.
He does, but only at certain times. He made a few elf soldiers kill themselves an episode or two ago with a simple thought. However, he didn't use that ability when he was being stabbed by a gang of orcs,
forget Galadriel, just snatch the ring from falling. Surely he can lift 1 ring? But apparently not.
The fact that Sauron used the "look" technique straight from Zoolander to defeat Galadriel is both sad and hilarious XD
You mean Blue Steel!
Dangit, now I want someone to make that clip, where it's Zoolander instead of Obviously Sauron (I've no clue what his name was besides Obviously Sauron).

@@contrapasso1539Exactly. Tolkien work is art. What Jeff's hirelings has accomplished is political activism.
@@sionsidhe9 remember when he said how he was molested by Morgoth? Sauron in this show is deeply emotional, and very fragile 😀
Thanks!
This truly is one of the shows of all time
Let me clarify one thing: NEVER has Galadriel been portrayed as a sword-wielding warrior by Tolkien.

Yes, I like this theory, but... how can you insult Middle Earth playwrights so carelessly like this?
It would make sense if the story of the Rings of Power were being recounted by the drunk Mirkwood prison guard elves in the Hobbit amongst themselves, getting all of the lore wrong like the show did, before they passed out and Bilbo stole the key to let Thorin and company out.
I watched all Rings of Power through your videos, such a funny and entertaining serie 👏

Well, you see, it's because Guyladriel read the script and in season 3 Sauron will tattoo "Damaged" on his forehead and she also knows she will be busy forging a shackle out of Morgoths crown so she can shackle Morgoth after he shows up for 1 scene so she can't at that time teleport to Sauron to tell him to heal himself.

what is truly amazing is that a 5 foot 3 inch tall woman (160.2cm) is able to easily defeat male warriors.
