If they do indeed duel, it's gonna be one HELL of a shooting gallery. No Catachan shenanigans here, based on the showcase, so it'd mostly be Tanya's tanks and wall of guns vs. Nick's battlesuits and more high-tech wall of guns. Of course, Tanya would have SOME melee punching power, so Nick's first priority would be blasting either the Executioner or those Bullgryns off the board-the last thing he wants is that giant plasma cannon vaporizing his suits or those Bullgryns up in his Pathfinders'(or worse, his suits) faces!
I love how this channel makes this potentially complicated, expensive hobby so much more accessible. I love showing videos to friends who are new to 40k, bc y'all are so friendly and welcoming here.
In my experience, women tend to gravitate towards nurgle, orks, and tyranids. Which I find fascinating and contradictory to what I would expect. Seeing Tanya's loving crafted imperial guard/astra militarium force, is very unique in my experience. Hearing her game knowledge. Learned over time was fantastic. Things like: "This unit was not considered very good but I liked it, and now it's good" (and she's even better at using it for all that play time when it was not as good) "Your guys die and are not very {killy}. You can win with only 3 things left on the table." This was a great interview for show casing the love of the hobby and the journey.

She seems awesome and talented and it's refreshing to see more diversity in the hobby. Gonna sub and check out her content.

First time I see this channel :p Tanya's Imperial Guard army looks fantastic, very cool painting scheme, always nice to see guard army showcase :) I'm building my first big army (Imperial Guard) classic scheme
Seeing Imperial Guard triggers a fond memory from a bunch of years ago. 4th edition, I'm Tau and my opponent is Imp Guard. I deepstrike a 6 man stealth squad (3 fusion blasters, 3 burst cannons) right behind my opponents Basilisk on my first turn and obliterate it (the hilarious overkill that is melta on rear armour) and the explosion killed the mortar team beside it. This then provokes the infantry to start shooting at me - I vaguely remember stealth suits at the time counting as if they're at night, but I cannot for the life of me remember how that works but I remember how hard a time my opponent was having trying to hit these suits - they survived 2 turns before eventually dying to Ogryns in melee, but before their death were able to kill one whole squad of 20 guard and lightly wound the Ogryns before they were able to charge. They more than paid for themselves that day.
@@the.warmistress Thats great. 50%. Have you won against Necrons? I am only playing against a friends necron army and he smokes me every time. Last game played two turns. I had a tank heavy army. I had killed about 6 of his infantry to 5 of my vehicles destroyed by turn 1.5. The incredible durability of necrons combined with their close range firepower and brutal melee is unstoppable to me.
@@davida138 my husband plays necrons and my win rate is an abysmal 25% I did a lot better last game by feeding consolidated infantry squads into his c'tan but we just can't hold objectives or put out enough firepower to really put enough of a dent into their high quality shooting units.
@@the.warmistress 25% win rate against Necrons is awesome. I don't last two turns. I also have a space wolves army which lasts three turns. With the necron high toughness, invulns and reanimations and living metal, I cannot do enough damage. He just marches across the board. My rolling is also amazingly poor. Recent game had 3 sentinels with hunter killer missiles. Of the 9 shots they fired over two turns, I hit once. Last game I fired 2000 points of mostly guard vehicles at his necrons and after basic animations, he lost a total of two lytchguard and two warriors. Then he shot back and destroyed half my army. Sigh.
I absolutely LOVE that Imperial Navigator hiding in the back there! The color scheme with sky blue robes and copper armor is beautifully done. Espern Locarno is one of my favorite models, I just finally finished painting mine this past weekend

What I really like about Tanya's Guard is the clean and relatively bright painting style. It's similar to the way I paint. You could describe it as late 90's GW style where everything looks clean and perfect. I don't know why but I'm not a huge fan of the "realistic" dirty look that is popular these days. I kind of want my minis to look fresh off the production line. Just personal preference.
