@@emarceeqem4715 Thats VERY new lore. It was a group of Tau that had been stranded in the warp for too long and all there humans turned on them (having gone warp crazy). Even in a grimdark universe, having some good guys brings in fresh air - though they should get pummeled for their naivity towards xenos, the warp, AI revolts, ancient gods and artifacts, constant betrayal, streams of refugees of other empires, not standing their ground at times proving disadvantageous even when it doesn't make sense, etc! Every time they take the enlightened, efficient and logical way, the grimdark universe should show them it just doesn't work like that. They shall prevail thorugh constant development and progress however, always optimistic despite the horrors and misery that surrounds them. That way it fits the setting AND brings in much needed differences to all the other factions in play.

I have always loved the Tau, from starting Secondary School, i began collecting Dreadnaughts, but then i saw *it*, The Crisis Suit. Utter perfection, they look strong, yet quick, and they *are*, unfortunately, they are still weaker than alot of other machines, Imagine having a Tau Imperial Knight it would be *amazing*, thank you for the video, Nick.

Thanks for making this video Nick. You distilled my thoughts of the race into one awesome video. I got into tau way back in 4th or 5th addition, I was visiting my cousin's in Denmark and they had turned their whole basment into a gamining room with shelf after shelf of fully painted models. I had no clue about the universe but the tau seemed really cool to me because out of all the other armies they felt the most sci-fi futuristic, with big guns, grav tanks and of course battlesuites. Once I got home I bought my first box of fire warriors and built a decent sized army. Sadly I never found anyone to play with. After highschool I saddly sold all my army and stopped playing.
Until this year! 10 years later I found a few friends who also are picking up some models and we are gonna play kill team! I just finshed my squad of fire warriors last weekend and cant wait to play them! Thanks for being a inspiration to other players!

Having played Tau in 3rd/4th/5th edition then tanking a long break and coming back in 8th the transition from sometimes memed on, not overly good or popular army to the hated existence we are now took some getting used to.
Also, I hate what they have done to our playstyle. We used to have mobility. Between JSJ, Broadsides with A.S.S, and flanking piranhas back when positioning actually mattered the stand and shoot castle style we currently have is lame and boring for both players. I seriously hope they do something to fix it and that they don't break the Y'vahra with the Forgeworld updates because it's one of the only enjoyable lists I have left.
Afraid I can't support your recommendation of the Skyray, probably our worst unit, always has been. That said, for any new people, DO buy the Skyray kits. They come with everything you need to make all of the tanks so if you magnetize they are the best value as you basically get the Skyray parts for free.
I too have those Puppetswar jump packs, great bits, do recommend.
Anyone else prefer the old CIB design?

You absolutely rock! I have been a Tau-main since 6th, and you nailed it on everything- Tau are especially the true good guys and critical thinkers, with even a type of politics of nationalist Bolshevism which secures their society properly while not being totalitarian subjugation of their people, and with them not being ruthlessly fascistic to try to annihilate minority populations among them, instead opting to have those minority populations become fully enfranchised in the genuine-cultural-integrity of Tau society, where the citizens are nigh-unanimously devoted to its stable thriving and health, like in a proper country. It is this which juxtaposes with the bloated Imperium, where vast feudal populations breeds a cultural climate of internal mistrust and totalitarian stagnation for the most part, while the Imperium's archaic and dogmatic doctrines of war include psychic powers which fuel their symbiote, the Eye of the Warp, created by the Eldar as a machine to grant them psychic powers, but their corruption made Slaanesh ultimately develop like a C'tan ostensibly might. In this kind of neighborhood, the Tau are not naive, but seek to form a partnership with the Imperium in order to influence it and team up against the completely lost factions. In terms of influencing the Imperium, the end-game would be reform of cancelling its corrupt psychic-fueling of Chaos in order to access the psychic power Eldar technology which has become accessible through the prevalence of the Warp near the Eye of the Warp. This would drain the Eye of the Warp and make the citizens of the Imperium more resilient, especially if reforms included not being left behind by their governments in many cases to be destitute cast-offs likely to be potentially manipulated by Chaos' Warp-intrusion military psychological operations, which the Tau are far more resilient to.

Hey Play On and/or T'au Nick. Me and a bunch of friends started with the Warhammer 40k universe by playing Rogue Trader after DnD 5e got a bit boring. It introduced a whole new system as well as an amazing universe to our group and we all fell in love. One friend of mine is going to be starting up a campaign and I plan to play a T'au pathfinder who seeks to spread the greater good by helping the Rogue Trader. The reason I bring all of this up is because I also really love the T'au and their lore. I play them all the time in Dawn of War (the first one). They have such a great playstyle and I love playing them with maneuverability. Recently me and my best bud started playing 40k on Table Top Simulator. It is a pretty fun and cheaper alternative to collecting models, though we do intend to do that eventually. Anyway I just wanted to say I am happy he recommended this channel to me, which he did purely because "T'au Nick shares the same energy and love of the T'au as you." I am happy to be subscribed to this channel and definitely intend on watching more. Sad to say our first match was a combat patrol of T'au versus Eldar and I did not manage against his Howling banshees and Wraithlords. Luckily I held off the banshees in a melee fight with my Kroot Carnivores, but by then my other units had begun to fall as his units surrounded us. I definitely intend on taking a more mobile approach next time, because though my troops were spread and versatile, I did not take as advantage of mobility as I should have. In closing thank you for the advice, and have a wonderful day for the greater good.
