That is by far *the* most interesting and inventive Imperial Guard force I have ever seen. Looks really good to. I'm so jealous most of my things look terrible.
Nomis Ekul practice makes perfect. I stripped good amount of my tanks and guard and started from the ground up, when my skills got better. Also contrast is the God’s gift to guards players. Airbrushing is perfect for tanks!
When one of the models said "keep your family safe" the regiment seemed like really good guys. Then you explained the fluff and the sentence sounded a bit more sinister. Awesome army though, the color scheme makes then way cooler than the usual cadians.
As someone who has a Star Phantom army, you have my condolences. Edit: also as someone working in HK right now, I love your Hong Kong police inspired army 🤣
Ohoho, this is wonderful. I love the concept of a Guard regiment being used as an enforcer military instead of the local Arbites or Palatines. I love the Nineteen-Eighty-Four general theme and references, and I love how it's nicely separate from Nineteen-Eighty-Four in all the details. Wonderfully done, Auspex, I look forward to seeing your other armies if you choose to make more of these.
This has been my favorite video you have done yet. The models really look great and I especially love the fluff. Also great job on the pictures too. Please do all your other armies! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great content!
Love the 1984 referances! I also started my guard in 5th ed. But it was the Leman Russ that brought me to the guard. I made an old FW tank army with the plastic Russ kit, had about 6 to start and have expanded ever since. Get some super heavies next they are hilarious to run!
Planet 'Orwell' is simply brilliant, as is 'guardsman 101' - very well thought out and executed background for your army, and frankly hilarious slogans on your vehicles as well! (y) I'm a big fan of 1984 myself.
Love the General Franco jokes and motif. The family-friendly fascism is nicely done too - completely ordinary, banal and acceptible. Great units and powerful army of course.
Brilliant. White? .. White tanks?.. White? I can barely paint a helmet white without frustration. You've done a fantastic job, and the theme is awesome. I have a grand total of 9 guard models since I started to collect them last month :)
IainK76 Airbrushing is great for Tanks and Space Marines. All my Dark Angles have a nice smooth coat of Glowstonw green over the Caliban primer. Saved me hours of work. I can’t recommend it enough, plus Iwatta has a great get started brush and pump pack.
That's looking awesome, congrats on painting all that white. Although. Got to be honest. I couldn't resist not to weather the shit out of that lovely blank white canvas haha.
I'm doing a similar guard army with many riot-suppression oriented conversions so this was really inspiring - I've been putting the symbol of the tyrannical Trade Commission ( Comisión De Comercio) run by my despotic, conquistador themed Rogue Trader on the side of my tanks but now I think I might put some slogans on there as well - it's very Mussolini-esque! Well done on what looks like a very successful project
Holy cow, this is awesome! I love your channel so much. What a special surprise to find a video about your own army! Thanks for everything you contribute to the Warhammer community.
Thank's for sharing! I love looking at what other people do with their models. The sheer volume is respectable and the white looks absolutely great. The vehicles are especially good. I'm painting my own homegrown space marine army white with silver and black details. I'm using black templar bits and it's coming together quite well.
black lining is on point, i love the film canister and land raider inferno cannon hellhounds. this video was randomly presented me by yt for no reason. pretty neat to see this old stuff sometimes. also the pic with the three mortar teams, every base got its own unique basing technique, its like a good guard army always is, it takes time to build and paint em, and afterwards they look good together. this awesome conversions too are some ive seen plenty of the battlefields from long ago. i love em o7
As someone who plays guard, I got to say great job on the army! I love all the different units (especially the Rough Riders) and the paint scheme. Keep up the great work, I have your vids on when I’m working on build and painting!
I've got a Griffon Mortar myself!! I miss Bunker Buster shells!!!! I wish they continued making the model!! I'm at 9000 points myself, though with Cadians, Catachans and Armageddon Steel legion. Keep up the great work!!
Your lore is fucking fantastic. I don't think Ive ever seen anyone do something like this. And it fits with the 40k universe as a whole while also making callbacks to great classics of liturature. Grimdark indeed...they kinda remind me of more competent, lethal, effective Peacekeepers from Hunger Games. Probably the white.
What an awesome job. Looks great. Very impressive. Very counter intuitive going for the clean look with the guard. Like your idea with the old photo canisters for the hellhounds.
This is a very nice blast from the past, I starten in 8th and it's so nice to see the progress of guard over the previous editions. I love the pallet too
I love homebrewed armies. The theme and execution is great. To me this kind of army blows a master crafted but vanilla IG army off the table any day of the week for coolness.
Great video and Army. I love the lore and the look works well with it! I try to create a lore section for all my armies - it helps guide my painting and buying. And after hours of painting, its my tribute to my armies - who normally die defending the Emperor!
I love this backstory, it’s very fun being the bad guy in 40k. I love the riot police idea and style, the slogans and threats are just beautiful. My guard force is the subordinate to my rouge space marines army. They are the 234th rabid assault Corps. And the space marines are the Serpents of Iron. Their armour is factory grey cause they steal and strip the paint away, only having regiment numbers and symbols. Basically the force is a mechanized infantry who use primarily sentinels and guardsmen, who often advance without care for hazardous environments by the orders of their space marines who believe whole heartedly that they are “doing their part for their god emperor” who they still believe in despite being excommunicated living on a space hulk that’s hunted by many imperial institutions for dealings with xenos.
Wow man that is an excellent looking Army and an awesome concept behind them. With loyalist forces like that, traitor guard doesn't look so bad Also there's a lot of people that say white is actually the hardest color to paint
So many comments about people struggling to paint white White is one of my favourite colours to paint; it's so fast and can be made to look really realistic and weathered! :)
I wonder if it’s because of hobbyists’ love of priming black. I know I was taught that priming black was the only way to paint when I started 40k, and black primed models are almost impossible to paint with white, yellow, or red. Since I recently got back into the hobby I’ve painted Hawkshroud Knights and Sons of the Phoenix Space Marines, and I definitely prefer painting white over yellow
@@anderslundtoft2315 Citadel ulthuan grey is nice for basing. Do some nuln oil on the whole model, clean the edges with ulthuan grey again. This worked fine for me. If you add some details to the model, it will look good
@Anders Lundtoft @Keenen Krowe Prime black, then use an aerosol or airbrush to apply your white in a lighter top-coat, so that you're not chalking up your crevices with thick white paint, the model is still almost entirely white, and you get recess shading and shadow areas for free :) Think a zenithal with much wider, ambient light source, or a sky-light Then shade down with oils and enamels for wear and weathering if you want. Another bonus is most paints on-top come out brighter and require fewer coats to be acceptable. Though I will say, priming directly with white spraypaint or primer is generally... not great, but at least it isnt handbrush white over black... *shivers in horror*
I am usually not big on Imperial guard, but I appreciate the repressive army vibe. The fascist, 1984 and Starship Trooper vibes I also quote like. Also do you only collect Imperium armies?
This makes me think the guard should have a melee unit like your enforcers. Maybe military police / provosts with shields and chainsword. Massed melee at St3 WS4+, maybe with the shield giving a slight defence bonus to save and/or toughness in melee. Give 2 base attacks +1 on charge/when charged for weak sauce melee hilarity.
your a unexpectedly good painter, i love the free hand work and your lemun russ tanks really show how good you are but one GLARING issue on your models is the gun barrels not being drilled 6/10 could have been 9 but those undrilled barrels are very noticeable still great though, just goes to show that being competitive focused play is no excuse for grey tiding
The propaganda mantras on your tanks are a really nice touch. Loving the dystopian vibe.
Love that heavy mortars and heavy caliber artillery guns are "Riot Dispersal Vehicles"
These are the kind of armies I love. Not painted to perfection but damn good theming and story telling. Builds so much character and narrative
That is by far *the* most interesting and inventive Imperial Guard force I have ever seen. Looks really good to. I'm so jealous most of my things look terrible.

You should try citadels contrast paint I swear those things are magic and they make any model look good
Have you seen 'grot guard' ? Search it on youtube, next level

We've always been at war with Eurasia, Eastasia has always been our ally
Doubleminus ungood Eastasian spy! You know we ALWAYS were at peace with Eurasia! More Goldsteinian lie!
Might have to make an Oceania themed army
Literally 40,1984
Hell yeah! It's your budget tau :D

Awesome army though, the color scheme makes then way cooler than the usual cadians.
I know, it takes on a different meaning. :D Safe from whom?
oh God painting all that white makes me feel physically sick, fair play to you
This was ridiculously pleasant to watch. Would love to see you do this dive into origin and background for all your armies.
As someone who has a Star Phantom army, you have my condolences.
Edit: also as someone working in HK right now, I love your Hong Kong police inspired army 🤣

Great look and even greater fluff. General Francisco has my vote.
Absolutely stunning. As a returning Imperial Guard player I'm genuinely in awe of how original and clever your force is.

This is really nice stuff, very unique look, makes the Cadian kits a bit more interesting and i like the Orwell fluff

I love the background blurb for your army :) Definitely the heels of any narrative
This is amazing, just the amount of creativity you did with this army.
General Francisco:
Me being Spaniard: Confused and nervous noises
So it's Marines Malevolent , but as imperial guard , I can dig it 👍👍.

Awesome fluff. Extremely imaginative and creative. Great job.
I feel like we're all living on planet Orwell now, awesome army and lore to go along with it, love the state propaganda on the vehicles
What a fun army. Orwell would be proud!

"Guardsman 101" too.
