Spleeter in combination with Izotope RX music rebalance feature is crazy. Before you send the track to Spleeter you can boost the vocals (or one of the other filters) and get an even better acapella!

I always use phonicmind, it also works pretty good. I think it preserves the original quality the best. Of course it costs money, but also gives you 4 tracks (vocals, bass, drums, etc)
spleeter split out multiple instrument too!
spleeter can output up to 5 stems
wouldn’t it be easier to install anaconda and then create an environment that used python 3.7?

I think your video is good. I liked how informational it is and how many options you provided when discussing this topic. I would maybe consider adding the meaning of GUI into your video and stating that GUI stands for Graphical User Interface. As their are many people who don't know what it means.

Latest version of VIRTUAL DJ (even the free one) has a steam splitter function and does the job nicely for most tracks. Also ACCUSONUS has a vst called REGROOVER for this job.

Hey Dylan is there any chance you can make a video on how to train spleeter?
One issue of filtered vocals that I cannot find any tutorials to, is how it can be nicely processed for a, say, remix. Could you perhaps make a tutorial on how to properly process the filtered vocals to get rid of all the glitchy or awkward frequencies?

I couldn't wait for the video before installing spleeter gui, which worked fine for me without python, and I tried it on a couple dozen songs. It's kind of fascinating how variable the results are, it worked really well on all the good vocalists I tried; The Carpenters, Fairport Convention, Harry Nilsson, Nat King Cole, it was mostly terrible on rap, which is too bad, but worked well on some songs. You could definitely get some interesting samples out of things, the artifacts are too much for a lot of uses but it should be good for analyzing songs which is mostly what I'm interested in.
I installed spleeter and it worked, for those that still struggle here's the exact instruction:
1. Download both versions of spleeter. The master thing from github and the actual app one from makenweb
2. Make sure you download the right version
-64xbit for a 64xbit PC and 32xbit for a 32xbit PC (You need to look up what bit your PC is)
-Windows/Mac, depending what you use etc.
3. Download the newest version of python
4. Install python
5 .Extract the master zip and put the installer(the app) in that folder
6. Click on the installer and finish the installation
I put everything in the desktop folder btw (The master folder containing the installer)

As for the strike they go away after 3 months!
Just don't get 3 of them at the same time or they will shut your channel down!

Hey Dylan can you review the vocal remover and isolation in audacity?
virtual dj works to isolate vocals pretty well, instruments at least in the instance i tried not so well. only issue with the vocals is you have to set it to record and let the song play but this is still faster than the free online stem splitters ive tried especially if you want just a small portion of vocals from a song.

I think we can improve the output quality if we start to teach Spleeter. It's a neural network with just one hour of learning.
FL Studio now has the abilty to extract stems from a samle (Drums, instrumets, bass and vocals)

i think there are initial/ending clicks because it works as a "selective recorder" , it plays the track at AI speed and make different recordings of selected frequencies , thats why most of the time the lowest part of the bass ends up with the drums ,the snares with vocals, the low vocals with the instruments, cuz they share some frequencies. might be wrong, but after using it a while it feels like this.
Vocal remover just sounds like really bad phase cancellation when I tried it. It did remove the vocals but there was still slight bits in the background then on some parts really washy. You could just get an instrument of the same track, Flip the polarity if its close it would remove the track leaving the vocals. That what it sounds like why the phase isn't perfect that why you still hearing little parts of the instruments.

This is great, though it lead me to realize that the CLI is actually also very easy to use. spleeter separate -i D:\Downloads\BEST+SONG.wav -p spleeter:5stems -o output is all it takes once you have it installed.

To add to this, it's better to extract the center and the sides of the track and run each file separately through spleeter. Then just phase cancel the vocals you got with the original track.
It yielded much better results for me though it all depends on the track.
There's MUCH better technology than Spleeter now.
