My she is beautiful. That waistline, 14-16”. I really loved all the paintings , sketches, drawings, photography of Empress SISI and family. Thank you for providing all this rich history. Many a sitting she sat. My family Nickname is SISI too. Some people’s I meet think it’s Sissy. My older brother called me SISI because he couldn’t say Alison Anne. So happy I found this. Her waist may be a 10-12. Dear girl.
What a wonderful documentary about an extraordinary woman, who was vain, depressed, bored and should have lived in the next century. How sad that the Emperor truly loved her and she had little use for him and even her children.
I don't think shw was a simple to read as all that. Women back then were treated much differently. I do think she loved her children. If you see the video she is very attached as much as they will allow and wore black after Prince Rudolf's death. It's hard to really get a good read on someone who lived in a different era with "queen" responsiblilities. The nobility lived so much differently that the average Austrian housewife. Sisi is more complicated than any documentary can reveal.
She was forced to marry him when he was suppose to marry her sister, & he did nothing to stop his mother from taking Sisi's kids from her he was a momma's boy. Sisi started having health problems when she married into his family that's why she didn't love her husband put yourself in her shoes. Had she not married Franz she would've married someone she loved & lived a healthy life I wouldn't love a man that I was forced to marry.
She was a child when she got married, she wasn't allowed to have any relationship with her children. How would you react? I doubt you would be any better.
You obviously did a lot of research on Sisi and I thank you for it. A well done video although if it had narration, one did not need to sit through more than 1 hour 20 mins of it. Thank you for adding the list of books and films on Sisi. I loved the 2009 German Italian production called Principesa Sisi. It's available on RUclips with English subtitles! It's lusciously shot and the actors really did a fantastic job. It's a romantic fantasy (Franz Joseph and Sisi are shown to be very romantically in love although in real life Sisi was less enamoured with her husband) with actual historical stuff thrown in. It also has one of the most nuanced portrayals of Archduchess Sophie, Sisi's MIL who is almost always portrayed as quite the heartless villain. I actually liked this mini series better than the 1955 Sisi. I strongly urge you all to have a look at this mini series.

This was really good, but the one thing you didn’t mention at the end was the fantastic musical “Elizabeth”. That’s how I became interested in her history by watching this amazing musical; I believe it does her justice and should be seen!
Hi Rebecca - what a great job you always do - lovely pictures, and you show your love and respect to the people you are talking about every time !! Thanks a lot - much love from Germany !!! 😍
Red Sheep why don't you watch more than 5 seconds before leaving comments like this then you will see the beautiful photos and painting when the paragraph has ended. I adore all the creations from this person She works so hard and does not deserve sh it from trolls like you.
Look at the regimes & routines she did to keep herself looking good in pictures in her later years she still looked very youthful while her husband looked like the old man that he is. Sisi was not going to let child bearing, a wicked mother in law, unhappiness in the courts & her marriage keep her from looking her best.
You did an excellent job on this video and it shows that you must have put a lot of effort into creating it. Thank you for this commemoration of a very tragic life. What a pity Sisi put all her energy into exhaustive, excessive dieting, paying wasteful and unhealthy attention to her beauty, as she had a very bright, intelligent mind and forward-looking personality. She and Franz Joseph were totally wrong for each other, she was too young, and her mother-in-law pushed herself into the marriage and all aspects of it. Sisi, nonetheless, was instrumental in Hungary's getting "more air to breathe" in a manner of speaking, and they reciprocated her love. Obviously, she had quite an astute mind, was talented at languages and interested in history. How tragic that she felt that "even if a place were paradise, she would consider it hell, were she forced to live there". This is a reaction to her being tyrannized by Sophie and not understood by Franz Joseph. That one painting of her, Franz Joseph and Sophie, and the couple's children, where the three of them sit side by side, Sophie holding baby Rudolph in her lap, while Sisi gets to hold his little foot only, (with the other children surrounding them), brings to mind Diana's words about there being three people in the marriage. With some variants, I can see why some people like to compare Sisi and the late Princess Diana. However, Diana founded important charities, in Sisi's case, she helped the Hungarian people, which brought her their love and admiration. It is easy to feel like judging someone when one is not in that person's body and life. I'm certain any competent psychologist could easily explain what drove her to do what she did. Her beauty and body were something she could control. The picture at the end, of her cocaine syringe, makes it easier to understand how she could handle subjecting her body to such excessive, tortuous "exercise regimens". I hope her poor horse got more rest than she did, when she went out riding to her point of exhaustion. Her ending was as dramatic as her life had been, and had proper medical treatment been at hand, she most likely would have lived. Yet another point of comparing her life with that of Diana. Sadly, she died at a much younger age, but also in a highly dramatic way. I hope Sisi's spirit, now free, is not as restless as her body and mind were during her life. Thank you for allowing the viewers enough time to read all the printed information; most videos made you race to keep up. I look forward to seeing more of your historic videos. Best wishes to you!
So this poor woman was raped by her spouse. Forced pregnancy at 17, had her children taken by her mother in law, had a child die which she was blamed for, had anorexia.....good Lord I hope she found peace in death

Good thought about it and I think there was black mold in the walls of the entire castle and maybe she was allergic to it! Just a few thoughts about it! 🤔
The saying in 28:58 is very true kids wreck havoc on the female body as well as the appearance of a woman no wonder so many women now don't want kids. I feel bad for Elizabeth she was forced to marry a man because the clothing she wore made her stand out from her sister who was to marry Franz bu even if he married Helene he would've taken a page out of Henry the 8th's book & found a way to divorce Helene to get to Sisi. The moment she married him Sisi had been plagued with health problems obviously marrying into the Austrian family was a curse I would've flat out refused to marry him "Hell no you're marrying my sister not me." His mother should've forced him to marry Helene if he still refused his ass would've been kicked out of line for the throne & given to someone else. Plus this is one empress that took great care & pride in how she looked her regimens obviously worked for her because she looks great in all the portraits she posed for. Sisi really knew how to take care of herself.
Romy Schneider was magnificent in portraying Sissi, only she was nothing like her neither in physical appearance or character. I never noticed a true smile in Sissi but there were many smiles with Romy Schneider, or perhaps in those days it was not used to smile when taking photographs mainly portrays. This is the problem with films, they pick some true facts and then make up their own story, just like making a new door from an old door, but the trilogy of Sissi with Romy Schneider are very good and this is what entertainment is all about
Sisi never smiled in public because she overheard her future mother-in-law discussing her teeth that were not attractive; and as a young girl this was mortifying, hence she refused to ever show her teeth
@@elizabethtanith8961 Teeth do not necessarily reveal smile. Many people can smile without showing teeth, I am one of them. Smile is more in the eyes than in teeth, her eyes did not show it.
No, this isn't true. She indeed had a waste of 50 cm. Recent reports have shown that Elisabeth's teeth were in good condition and she had a regular contact with her dentist. Also the autopsy report said her teeth were in good condition.
@@robertvasterink8963 Yes, so it is. When she was very young, she had teeth probably with a lightyellow shadow on it. But she did all for a correction with success finally.
Indeed a captivating story from the very beginning to end contrasting great fortunes with great misfortunes. Perhaps she was not meant to be for such a high position, too much independence. It was rather risky to move out without a proper escort. Perhaps she wanted to die, who knows?
I can not understand a woman that would allow anyone o take her babies. I don’t care who my mother in law was, she would have to come over my dead body to do such a thing.
Back then women had little say she did plead with her husband to put a stop to it but he was a momma's boy & a pussy it was one of the reasons why she never loved her husband. She did finally put her foot down when it came to how her only son was to be educated she began to take back the power she felt she lost.
@@savagedarksider5934 She was 16 when she got married. Her mother in law was very dominant. She had to grow up and find her own power, it's not her fault. You are probably projecting your own problems onto her.
@@slouberiee I don't have Any Problems buddy. Secondly, Running away and Neglecting your own children: Archdukess Gisela of Austria and Crown Prince Rudolf is not "Real Power." That was the common practice for the day to marry young; Victoria wasn't that much older than Sisi when she became Queen. And Victoria also had A bad relationship with her mother but she didn't let that prevent her from being A good monarch.
That involved a lot of research ! She was the perfect example of though one might be insanely rich, life was miserable because of it. What an absolutely horrible beauty regime. 😳 Not the rosewater, just the rest of it. I just imagine her as a average person in an average station in life. Sad she couldn't be that. It was a very interesting video, though the perky music didnt go hand in hand with her life story.
Have any of you all read the Royal Diaries series? They have a book about her. It is very good. ruclips.net/video/GRnRdI2lRkY/видео.html Hope this helps if you are interested. :-)
And I am looking like a twin sister of her and I also share all of her own diseases with her, also her thin body shape, also her emotional things and her poetry she has done - simply all and everything like a clone of her and this is something I love so very much and I keep deeply embedded in my heart and soul and mind like a wonderful treasure and jewelries for my own love to Her Majesty Empress Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie from Austria Queen of Hungary 🙋♀💖😍💝🤗👑👭👈👍🤩 Lovely greetings from Sarah 🙋♀💖😍💝🤗👑👭👈👍🤩
@@monabohamad2242 Indeed, like she had a say in anything she was able to obtain control in somethings but everything else she couldn't. Royals called themselves trying to keep everything within the family that included marriages which is never a good thing.
Elisabeth was a self centered, selfish woman, completely obsessed with herself and her appearance, without the slightest understanding of duty and responsibility. Considering that, it is hard to blame her mother in law as, giving the circumstances, it was probably very difficult to see Elisabeth as a caring and responsible mother. Taking her young children on such a long trip to Hungary just to defy her mother In law was extremely risky and yes, Elisabeth, at least indirectly, caused little Sophia's death. She wanted everything and gave nothing back neither to her husband, her children nor to her country. She was a bad wife, a bad mother, and a bad Empress.
Sidonie Winter Pasternak Are you aware that Vienna is close to the Hungarian border? It was not a long trip! Few hrs at most, traveling probably in luxury...
If that is so then why would anyone even like her you genius as in what exactly did her own husband see in her if she was as horrible and terrible like you made her sound like
Hey, she never wanted to marry Franz so she had every right to act the way she did her mother in law basically took her kids from her Sisi told her husband to put a stop to it but did he do anything? Hell no" Mother knows best" in his eyes another reason why Sisi resented her husband he was a coward & a pussy. She did gave back to not only her home country but her adopted country as well she had some traits of Catherine the great Sis learned different languages her new home country loved her. She was basically Catherine the Great & Princess Diana rolled into one as for her appearance? What's wrong with a woman wanting to take care of how she looks men want hot wives not ugly wives. In pictures she looks young, vibrant, youthful & in later years she still looks young in contrast to her husband who looks like an old man. She had a reason as to not want to be bothered with her husband & kids she never wanted them again she was forced into marrying him & forced to bear children she hated being with her husband so much she did everything she could to keep from having to sleep with him. The moment she married him & had to live in another country she developed health problems. Her mother in law was a witch she tried to control every aspect of Sissi's life until Sisi said "Enough!" good thing her mother in law died. As for her duties she hated them she found the courts stifling & boring she wanted freedom & independence if I were in her shoes I would do everything I can to escape too. Elisabeth was a 21st century girl trapped in a 19th century world had she been born in our time she would be a very successful business woman.
How could she be a parasite when she was forced into a life she didn't want? She never wanted to marry Franz he was suppose to marry her sister but he wanted Sisi so he acted like a spoiled brat until he got what he wanted. Sis wanted to be free & live life on her terms but she was denied that so out of defiance she refused to be intimate with her husband even after she had to bear him children. She took rides on horses, traveled the world, had little to do with her husband & their kids, she did things that Princess Diana had done she hated the courts & especially her wicked mother in law. It gets under my skin that only male heirs can inheritate the throne so much stress & pressure on women to bear sons women don't have control over what sex their child is. If it's a girl the woman & daughter get shunned women are forced to have kids until they produce a boy women's bodies can only take so much no wonder so many women back then died of child birth. Sisi is not spoiled & selfish she was born in the wrong place at the wrong time can you blame her for not wanting anything to do with a man she was forced to be with? She even told him to have an affair so he wouldn't be lonely while she was away. No doubt she told him "I don't love you & I never will you should've married my sister instead I was forced to be with you." I'm sure Franz was hurt but he had to accept it so I really don't feel any sympathy for Franz whatsoever he could've just let her go. Sisi did the best she could while taking good care of herself she was finally released from her personal hell when she was fatally stabbed at last she was free.

@@robertvasterink8963 Yes, so it is. When she was very young, she had teeth probably with a lightyellow shadow on it. But she did all for a correction with success finally.
It must have been a hard life for sisi
My dad was so happy when this happened
@@catspaw3092 Stop making excuses for this woman. She was A little girl who refuse to grow up.
No sound?
That involved a lot of research !
She was the perfect example of though one might be insanely rich, life was miserable because of it. What an absolutely horrible beauty regime. 😳
Not the rosewater, just the rest of it.
I just imagine her as a average person in an average station in life. Sad she couldn't be that. It was a very interesting video, though the perky music didnt go hand in hand with her life story.
Have any of you all read the Royal Diaries series? They have a book about her. It is very good.

Sounds like Sofia poisoned the eldest daughter, to get rid of Elisabeth.
Wouldn’t surprise me. She was a monster towards Elizabeth. Sad how Elizabeth was treated her own daughter in law similarly.
Enchant royal family
And I am looking like a twin sister of her and I also share all of her own diseases with her, also her thin body shape, also her emotional things and her poetry she has done - simply all and everything like a clone of her and this is something I love so very much and I keep deeply embedded in my heart and soul and mind like a wonderful treasure and jewelries for my own love to Her Majesty Empress Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie from Austria Queen of Hungary 🙋♀💖😍💝🤗👑👭👈👍🤩 Lovely greetings from Sarah 🙋♀💖😍💝🤗👑👭👈👍🤩

very interesting: Sisi was crazy; perhaps due to inbreeding in the family and perhaps a venereal disease by her imperial husband?
Yeah sure blame EVERYTHING on the "inbreeding"
If that is so then why would anyone even like her you genius as in what exactly did her own husband see in her if she was as horrible and terrible like you made her sound like
Seriously if she was SO TERRIBLE and HORRIBLE then what exactly did ANYONE see in her besides anything to do with her looks and appearance
I believe in my heart that Sissi was a good wife, a good mother, and a good empress
spoilt, selfish woman....a royal parasite that didn't like her main purpose as empress....to bear male heirs
That's IT with male heirs. Gets my blood boiling when people complain they don't have a son. History has their share of remarkable queens.
XD
Sisi didn't chose to be empress. She was put into that position. She made the best of it, tried to be happy in the life she didn't chose.
She was never a selfish one i think..she never wanted to be an empress either.
❤️ Thank You ❤️
