    I bought this vacuum at the start of this month and I have to say I'm relieved it did so well in your tests and you like it. I discovered your channel only after buying this video and I've come to respect your opinions and conclusions very much. I'm a new subscriber due to the amount of effort and enthusiasm you have towards these devices. Thank you for having such a wonderful channel.

    I am not surprised, I have the IQ version and it does well for my house, about 90% thick carpet and 10% hard flooring. I have received my new lidar vac and can't wait to get home from Ecuador so I can set it up and get it going. The IQ will go to the basement, this new one will be my main floor vac. I still don't understand why shark won't put a dust bin sensor in it, if they are not going to do that they need to adjust in the app the evac and resume feature to allow a more flexibility maybe 5, 15 and 30 minutes for the evac and resume, should be simple. Thanks for another great video!

      @@shanew7361 we have had zero issues with getting hair stuck in wheels so far. The bin inside the robot dies not alert you when it is full, but it has a setting to go back to the dock every 30 minutes to empty its dustbin. As for the outside dustbin. It won't alert you. But it's not a huge deal as it hold a month of debre. Keeping the robot clean isn't that bad either, just an accasonal checkup on the main brushroll sides. Shark just came out with a new lidar robot which I think would be better for you because I hear the navigation is a lot better and the cleaning performance. We bought our shark iq self empty at a bargain store and it works flawlessly. But I wouldn't recommend buying it at full price as some can be buggy. So mabye go for the roborock or the new shark AI robot.

    Bought this about a wk or so ago. At first it total sucked getting the app to work, getting it to map the house. I called Shark and they finally called me back 4 days later. Asked me the same questions again then we ended the call. Idk if they did anything. The next day I mapped again and final after 4 tries it mapped most of the house. The app still doesn't work right to be able to clean it single room & the schedule is only for one cycle a day. As far as the bot and base of picking up debris and transferring it to base. Works perfect. Roller will tangle with longer hair, string, ect. App needs a make over bad. My 2 cents
    Another side note to add. I bought the extended warranty as Best Buy said they will replace any part of the unit, even if it's normal wear and tear. If they can't fix it, they will replace the unit.

      Update on this unit. Idk if it's the app or the bot. This unit refuses to work an individual room or a specific spot. Shark techs had me reboot the entire unit to factory settings to map my home again. It mapped, but only cleans part of it now. So I guess I'll have to remap again. Unit/app still refuses to work a selected room or spot. Have called Shark numerous times. They finally sent me to a "Second level" tech. They couldn't fix it or give me an answer. Said they would call me back 24-48 hrs. That was Thu Oct 21st, '21. Figured I won't hear from them til Mon. Sooo in conclusion, currently do not recommend this product. I'm almost to the point, get my money back and get a Roomba I9 to try. Just trying to save $400ish dollars with the Shark vs the Roomba

      @@shanew7361 the machine itself cleans the floors great (carpet/tile). It does get long hair/string/threads stuck in pickup roller. I have to take roller out(which is easy) and scissor that out. 15 mins
      It's the app that is flawed. Takes several times to map the houses. It does learn more each time it runs.
      App absolutely refuses to send bot to clean single room or a single spot. I.E. you select those options, it cleans the entire house, not what was requested.
      Shark really needs to get off their backside and fix the app. After a dozen ph calls, I'm still waiting to hear back about an update for individual room/spot. I just hope they don't screw up something else when that gets done.

    Just got mine, and got it all set up.
    It really does an awesome job vacuuming, and I only paid $475!
    Now, if my cats can just get used to it... LOL!

    • @shanew7361
      @shanew7361 2 года назад +3

      How does it work on carpet? Does it beat and fluff the carpet like a shark upright vacuum? Where'd you get it for $475?

    • @KentuckyRanger
      @KentuckyRanger 2 года назад +2

      @@shanew7361 It works VERY well! This machine is NOTHING like the older robot vacuums, it really works great!
      You can see that it definitely beats and fluffs the carpet, and makes it look really nice, especially when you use the ultra clean mode, because it cleans in a crosshatch pattern, and really gets the carpet clean.
      I really had my doubts about this vacuum, and only purchased it because of the 90 day return.
      But since getting it set up properly, it's mind blowing how well this robot works!
      Granted, you do have to pick up stuff, like cat beds, shoes, etc.. before running, but other than that, it really does just run around and clean on its own.
      My only complaint is, it needs to have a shorter interval between empty cycles.
      30 Min is way too long, and after say 15~20 min, the collection container fills up, and makes it impossible for the unit to clean, and it gets clogged up when it does try to empty, because the container is cram full of cat hair.
      I wish it had a selection of times, like every 10/15/20/30 min, instead of the one 30 min choice...
      The way I get around that issue, is to deep clean one room at a time.
      That way, it goes back to the base and empties, before tackling the next room.
      In fact, that would be an awesome feature!
      If the robot itself would clean a room, then empty, before starting on the next room, automatically.
      While it can easily handle one room, it's overwhelmed with the entire house, especially when it has to clean 30 min, before coming to the base to empty.

    I dont believe it supports multi-floor mapping, is that correct? Regarding price, it will come down just like their other models. Also, Kohl's carries this now and you can get a good deal there with their coupons. For example, this weekend Kohl's had up to 40% off coupons, so you can get it for low $400's. The 40% coupons are usually on ebay for $3 - $5

    • @KentuckyRanger
      @KentuckyRanger 2 года назад +2

      If you mean multi floor, as in rooms? Yes it does!
      I have mine set to living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, office, bedroom 1,2,3,4.
      I can chose to clean one room, or the entire house.
      If they had a shorter timer to returning to the base for emptying, the whole house clean would be awesome!
      But 30 min is way too much for this little robot, and the bin gets overwhelmed with pet hair.
      If they had an option like say 10/15/20/25/30 min, it would work great!
      As it stands, I chose a room to deep clean, when it's done, it returns to the base, empties, and I chose the next room to clean.
      This way, the bin never gets overwhelmed with pet hair, and each room is deep cleaned.

    • @KentuckyRanger
      @KentuckyRanger 2 года назад

      @@bronzePower There's no way it could traverse between floors, unless you have ramps between floors.
      Funny, I did make a small ramp between my dinning room, and utility room, because it's about 8 inches lover than the dinning room, and it works well.
      But to traverse between stories of a house, I just couldn't see it working.
      You'd have to get one for each floor.
      As to mapping levels, I don't see anywhere on the app that you can map multiple levels.

      Hair still collects at each end, where the bearings are, as well as right in the center.
      It's not bad at all, and only requires cleaning about once every 3~4 days.
