Thank-you! Couldn't figure out how to turn off...your instructions were perfect and my vacuum is working again!
Glad I could help!
I just got mine at the beginning of this month. I love it. It's my first robot vacuum and I think people have to have a realistic expectation of what these Robot Vacuums can handle. I think you did a great job of representing that. It is still a very new technology overall and has so much potential. I wish the app allowed you to schedule specific zones instead of the entire floor.
Totally agree!
Hey how’s it still holding up?!!
Hi. It’s been almost 1 year. Is your robot still working?
@@City-Hiker Hey this may not help but, I went with my gut and bought it 2 weeks ago. Best
Decision ever clean up everything. I’m very impressed!
@@City-Hiker it’s still working pretty well. The charging base is so large that you can go a year without emptying.
Great review. I purchased this today, and I should be getting it tomorrow. Now I know what to do when it arrives. We don’t have a carpet. I have two Sharks; Shark Rocket Ultra-Light DuoClean and IZ682H Vertex Pro Cordless Stick Vacuum with IQ Display. The corded I have had for about six years, and it still does a fantastic job. The cordless I purchased earlier this year. I love both of them.
This will be my first robot vacuum. We’re getting a German Shepherd puppy in August. I thought I needed all the assistance I could get to stay on top of shedding. The dog I have and the ones in the past have all been single-coat dogs, so they don’t shed. I’m hoping cleaning I already do, grooming the dog, and adding this to my cleaning will help me stay on top of the daily maintenance. We love a clean home.
Yeah they are great on dog hair, not as good as fine dirt, Thanks so much for your support!
Got my wife the S8+ after we lost a part from our old shark! We immediately noticed that the S7+ was a horrible
Performer for let’s not as good as the old Shark. Returned it and hit the new shark and it is simply incredible!
Awesome1!
Really? That’s new, I was looking into the s7+ ultra and s8, but the only think that pushes me slowly away is the price. I’ve had shark handheld vacs and loved them. I may have ti give this a try!
I wish you could edit the size of the box in the map better. My hallway is really long and when setting it up it overlaps into the rooms on either side.
Got myself a Roomba i2 a few months ago. Loved it so much, I wanted to get my mom a robot, too.
Chose this one because it seems like it would be self sufficient until I come to visit once or twice a week. She loves it!
Every now and then, it messages me begging for help, though. 🤣
Good choice!
I have another shark self empty bin one and its has had a second run and now I can program rooms and keep out zone. That will be handy as I can now tell it to vacuum where my cat has been.
Wow!! Not mapping the complete house is a game changer!! Have you figured out why there were rooms missing???
I tried it again a year later and it works great
The laser only sees things directly in front of the unit... 4 INCHES OFF THE FLOOR... that's all the laser can see... anything shorter than 4 inches will be below what the laser can detect and it will either roll over it or have to rely on the bump method.
Have had it for a few days. Mapping observation: After watching the robot clean rooms, I realized I needed to tweak the rooms on the map. If I included too much wall, or overlapped to the adjacent room, the poor thing had to find its way to the other room and finish the job from the other side. But tweaking the map seems to work. Anyone else have this experience?
LIDAR =/= RADAR... the "top hat" on the unit houses a spinning mirror that shoots out a frickin laser beam in a near horizontal plane from the top of the unit. so, things *lower* than the spinner won't be picked up. ie cords, tiny toys, etc. it's still going to rely on the bumper for those sorts of things.
Thanks for sharing some great information on the unit!
@@JustADad if you want short & light obstacle avoidance, i think you need a model with a forward facing camera... ? those know to turn from things that would otherwise not trigger the bump switch.
The rattling sound is because the carpet has height and the roller flaps the rug
can you block off certain zones?
yes, in the map you can create no go zones.
Would this be good for hard floor?
Have you had any notable problems with it since you had it? I was thinking of picking one up
Once in awhile the maps just go away in the app and you have to reexplore your house to create a new map. That's it, I wish the app was a little better
Do you have to have WiFi in the home to use this Robot Vacuum?
yes
How would this do going over or down a transition that is 1/4" tall?
The wheels have alot of power and traction. I think it would do fine.
I believe the sensor cannot sense smaller item.
It can only sense the item higher than the Robot itself.
yes you are correct, the Roomba J7 has a camera in front that can see smaller things
@@JustADad : That's the biggest problem of the Shark's Robot.
Most of their Matrix series sensor are on the top, but RV2011, RV2001, RV2002 on the front.
I am not familiar with the RV900 Series, so I can''t give any comment for RV900 Series product.
Thank you for your video. I’ve had my Shark robot vacuum for one day and after cleaning several rooms it docked and self empty bin vacuum turned on but did not suck the debris from the robot. Gave an error 26 code meaning there is a blockage, but no blockage found. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
call shark, they have great customer service.
Probably not a good idea to look at the laser to see if it's turning
Just got mine today but it’s been stuck at 40% for a hr is this normal can’t do a explore run
It does take it a bit to charge. maybe close the app and open it again, it might show that its charged more
