    Will this mark baseboards like previous sharks?

    I have had this for less than a week and am going to return it. I have a Roborock X5 that had the LiDAR motor die. It is only $13 to fix, but I thought that technology would have advanced over the past 3 years that I had it. The shark is very loud, make grinding noises as it moves and the auto empty requires help.

      Hi ChefJeff! Thanks for the comment. Maybe your unit was a dud? my shark is not loud relative to other robovacs, no grinding noises, and self empty bin has no issues. The software, power, and mapping is an improvement over the roborock x5 for sure. 2 different experiences.

    Obstacles on the floor? Runs over them? Wires: any tangles or does it avoid the wires? The Roomba J7 + avoids obstacles. Does the Lidar on this Shark (and bagless bin) make it more desirable than the Roomba? Equal cleaning and battery power? Thank you in advance for your considered opinion.

    • @TheFrenchGlow
      @TheFrenchGlow 2 года назад +3

      Hi! The J7 obstacle detection uses a front facing camera with AI (and more $$$) which has the edge on the Lidar on the Shark but the bin, they are about the same height and size. Battery life in real life is about the same. Cleaning performance is about the same with the Shark delivering better results on ultraclean mode. The J7 would be my choice if you have kids, pets, and cords because of the AI (you can train it over time) but for the Shark AI is great value because of the power and Lidar. My Shark AI avoids most cords but like all robovacs, enough cords with corners and furniture can jam a robovac up. With that said, it works fast and very effective, no bags needed.

      The dust bins will require emptied x3 less and if you need the rooms cleaned fast it will take x3 faster. On the downside, you may have errors x3 more.

    Having trouble connecting to WiFi, any suggestions?? I’ve tried numerous times by using the printed instructions.

      Hi. Has your unit ever been connected to your network before the wifi issues? If you have only 1 router in the house and that's the one it cannot connect to, try making your cellphone into a Hotspot (both ios and andriod have a mobile Hotspot feature in their settings). See you can connect to that (even though not sure it will be 2.4ghz). If you call shark, their customer service will troubleshoot you to reset your unit and if that fails, hopefully you can get it fixed under warranty asap.

    If you mean Roomba i7, are you really sure? Because if it comes to navigation, cleaning, and product quality this can't beat i7 in any way. Also I didn't saw any i7 in this video, so...
    Anyway good video.

      Yes after the update and the addition of LIDAR, this Shark AI XL vac is impressive with improved algo compared to the i7. When its on sale for 400-450 USD, its a good deal since the i7 is still around 600-700. But I do LOVE the i7 and more the s9 and j7.

    Great vacuum, Crappy app. Cant get it to connect to my WiFi even though we have several laptops, cell phones tv's and many other devices all connected. Rebooted router, shark and phone. It is a worthless app that does not work. They wont build a PC app so it was worthless. Took it back tp COSTCO for a refund. If I cant program it then its not worth anything to me.
