Picked one up at Costco. Setup was easy if you go to you tube. Paperwork not so much so. Connected to wifi in less than a minute, did the mapping with app (which I think is great) and off it went. Setup cleaning times on app for midnight twice a week and runs perfect. 2 hepa filters in unit (one one base other in vacuum) and one foam filter which are all easy to clean. First time used I put out some peanuts all through my house in various locations just to see what it would miss. Next morning they were all in the collection bin, didn't miss a one ( now to be fair all my floors are wooden). I run this at midnight since it does take 21/2 hrs to do my house but hey I'm asleep when it's running. App will give you complete history of run times, sq. ft. cleaned ,rooms cleaned, and a bunch more. Absolutely love this thing, Nice and quite...
That "slapping" sound is normal, the unit is working properly. That sound is just the "powerfins" on the brushroll, basically the rubber fins on the brushroll slapping the floor. This is just what shark uses to clean carpets and floors better. I have one and the sound has also happened to me. If you don't hear that sound anymore, it just means that your powerfins are wearing out and you might need to replace the brushroll soon in the future.
Thanks for the info!
Bravo ottimo video dimostrativo
Thanks for the info.
You bet!
Does this model have the CleanEdge technology? Amazon says it does but I don't see the blue holes like in the Vac+Mop combo model or some of the pictures?
Excellent and thorough review!! I bought an AV2501AE, set it up and LOVED the vacuum so much I ordered another directly from Shark. Apparently they sent me the "same" vacuum, but I believe this one is a AV2502AE and it only has one (1) side cleaning brush, however the first one I ordered has two (2) side cleaning brushes. The vacuums appear IDENTICAL other than that, but I am still dissapointed. Any idea what or why the difference?
Way better than the IQ model because of the lidar. Lidar works better than camera technology. Good review.
Yep I agree the map it creates is amazing.
Thank you so much man!
No problem!
Picked one up today for $449. Seems like a great deal.
Yep thats the price I paid and I think its the lowest I have seen. You will love it.
I bought one on Amazon. I think I got a lemon. After a full day all I get is the red flashing battery icon never charges. Also I never get the Wi-Fi connection. I called CS and they were useless. Going to exchange it and see if the replacement works
good overall video
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words!!!
For anyone with issues connecting to app:
Mine wouldn't connect to my phone despite all recommended ts steps executed repeatedly. It would just hang on the 'bear with us' screen on android app. What i ultimately did was dig out my old phone and it connected there first try, and quickly.
do you have to use the app for the machine to operate? thank you
Good, review you explained things better than Shark, especially connecting to wifi.
Awesome, thanks so much!!!
I think you need to use the app I need to do the initial mapping run first I wouldn’t worry about the queen of dark but it’s just use the app
I have tried and tried to download shark clean app but can't get to load any tips ?? 😢
Interested to know your opinion on this one compared to the previous model.
I love the newer one. I love the radar, I don't have to put down those strips to keep it out of room or away from a obstacle. I think it picks up more also. the newer one is louder. The map the newer one created was amazing and works great. Shark has this on sale for $449 and that is the perfect price.
how do i get sound?
Do you know if the brush roll and filter from this fit on the new AI series
I meant do the IQ parts fit this one
no the roller does not but all the filters do
the sound it makes is the lasers i watched one and it pretty much stopped the sound when the lasers stopped
Cool thanks for sharing
Hi Dad,
I just got my AI XL a couple of weeks ago. I have/had numerous Shark uprights but this is my first robot from them. It’s not my first robot. In recent history I’ve had a Roomba 981 and Samsung JetBot. I really wanted a self empty . I review things for Amazon and this bad boy came along. You are right it makes a weird slapping noise as does mine. I’m thinking it’s a combination or the blue beater and carpet. None of the other make this noise and two of my Vertex models have the blue beater. They probably spin faster with a stronger motor. I’ve learned from these three that none are perfect. I’m hoping this one proves itself. I hate the mapping as the Samsung showed a live location and progress. Others do that too. Shark needs a serious rewrite. Then again the Shark editor runs rings around the Sammy app. So, which is better? The Roomba was stupid and just drew a pretty map I couldn’t use, needed a better brain. The Shark is only slightly noisier than the Samsung but the Sammy gets stuck on room thresholds. The Roomba was a jet plane on take off but may have cleaned the deepest because of the strong motor. I did have to rescue the Shark a couple of times. All three needed rescuing at some point but my apartment is an Amazon warehouse, that reviewing thing. LOL. Enjoy your AI and I’ll keep an eye on your videos. I found you because I have the Keurig (bought not review) 5 punch you gave me pointers on. Thanks. I subscribe now. Keep up the good work. I’m looking through your history.
Joe
Thanks for Watching and your insight into these vacuums. I am just beginning and you have me some great information. I feel like my house is a warehouse sometimes too that was funny. I am glad I could help with the Keurig. Thanks for the sub!!
@@JustADad my pleasure. My rec given the dogs is a Roomba J7. I missed my review opportunity so the Shark came later and I have no pets. Another RUclipsr I follow; Adam’s TechReviews, really tested the avoidance of the J7 and the AI XL. The Shark essentially avoids nothing no matter what’s on the box. LiDAR is not a good system to avoid stuff. He borrowed some errrr, waste? from his brothers dog to test the J7. Passed with flying colors.
@@jbs256 Thanks I will get the J7 i was wondering if it was any good.
@@JustADad I like what I see but I think with out having pets there’s better. I’m assuming a J9 to replace the S9. I’ll deal with the AI for now. If I have a review opportunity for an S7+ or a future J9 or what ever they call it I may bite again. I get a tax hit from these review items so they’re not free but relatively inexpensive. But if you go crazy it becomes a huge tax hit.
I just hit a bug. I told the AI to go clean my bedroom on the app, it cleaned the living room which wasn’t selected. Took three try’s to get it to go to the right room. I may try to relearn the map.
Picked or up at Costco last week for $399.95
My grandpa just bought this but he doesn't have internet at home so it's not gonna work right?
I think it will still work. Maybe the mapping won't be as good and you won't be able to use the app, but I think it will work
Do you lose Wifi connection when you complete the maintenance?
Sometimes, Seems like if I don't power it down right then I rese the wifi by accident
Can’t I connect to Alexa?! And if so, HOW?!
Great vacuum, Crappy app. Cant get it to connect to my WiFi even though we have several laptops, cell phones tv's and many other devices all connected. Rebooted router, shark and phone. It is a worthless app that does not work. They wont build a PC app so it was worthless. Took it back tp COSTCO for a refund. If I cant program it then its not worth anything to me.
