@@RoyRacing185 I hear ya, however I like my floral area rugs with their black borders (other dark colors have the same issue). It's also nice to see relatable content on RUclips, and what better way to improve products than to talk about their shortcomings. My last issue: - A dock equipped with whatever is required to auto-fill fresh water and auto-empty used water (e.g. placed next to the washing machine) Also: did I see that right: do they really use disposable bags (non-reusable) in the dock? That's also a no-go right there. Almost, Roborock, aaaalmost! 😊
Just a heads up, at least 1 other roborock model has the option to hook up to the water and sewer lines. I believe this one will too, but it's being released later
I love my S7 water change kit and I won't upgrade to anything without one. I used to have to refill / empty the water bins every week, now I just check for hair clogs and rinse the water screen monthly.
I own the Roborock S7 Max V and I will never get rid of it for one reason...bagless dock! These companies got away from bagless docks to make more money on bags. Robot vacuums are still requiring owners to spend a fortune on bags. 👎
You can usually get bags from 3rd parties that are very cheap. I don't know with robot vacuums (suction is low, bin is basically a bagless system), but bag'd cannister and uprights are flat out better than bagless system in suction and time between clearouts. I use bagless when my shopvac is in wetvac mode and on my stick vacuum, but if I need performance, I prefer bags. I'm happy with my old bag'd iRobot (the first model with a dock, before these came out) since swapping out the bag keeps the smell out without the need for a deep clean to places which are simply not cleanable. WIsh I could say the same for the dustbin on this old guy.
(overpriced, bulky, gets stuck easily, water leaks everywhere, breaks down in the first week of ownership, will make you the laughing stock of the entire neighborhood)
@@SmartHomeSolver The cybertruck isn’t the gold standard of anything. I think Roborock is going to rethink sponsoring you if this is how you try to sell their vacuums.
No one is saying the Cybertruck is the gold standard of anything. It's a joke. There are a few similarities but all the bad things are not part of the vacuum. Watch the end of the video.
Have you tried any of the docking stations that hook up durectly to the water/waste plumbing? Worth it? Wait for gen 2. But the vacuum has to go back in the laundry room!
Features I’m after: baseboard dusting before it vacuums the floor and I want to see a robot vac docking station on legs. So the robot can step out at a height and then lower itself so you can clean under the dock as well. It would be cool to store it in a bottom cupboard, with an arm feature to open the door so you can hide it away. No matter what it looks like, it’s a dust catcher and I’m sure bugs and roaches would hide behind it. I want everything off the floors.
I love how most issues with cleaning robots (or any relatively new tech) are only suddenly visible in all those RUclips videos is when a new version of the product is ale to overcome. It was never really an issue, nobody takes about it, but now that this new model (by company that sponsored this very objective, independent video) can overcome it, oh turns out it was a nightmare. But everything is perfect now, with this new model. Until the next model comes, of course, and the cycle continues. You should never stop spending money on those things.
If they could make it just a lidar only, then I'd maybe consider it. I dont want a robot vacuum with any camera and/or microphones considering how companies just sell your data. I dont need them to sell pics, videos, or audios in my house. Thats why I have the Shark Matrix Duo(mop & vacuum).
soooo, pricing? that threshold climbing ability is what has stopped me from getting one of these, because i didnt want to have to get 4 of them or manually move them from space to space. didnt see any pricing info on the site. im guessing ~$1k to $1.5k range?
out today for $1400 direct (not on Amazon yet). I think it might get discounted to $1100 at some point since its MSRP is about $100 more than the Qrevo Mater which goes for $1000 on sale atm.
Is this the only one that can lift/climb like that ? Our first floor has a few doors that come with a little bump. This is a worthy feature for me. But the price is steep.
Uhhh my old roborock has cleared our over 1" kitchen to other areas "threshold" for years.. it just drove up and over, this is neat that its intentionally lifting up higher but never had issues. Great video Reed!!! I think I’m going to have to retire my iRobot J7+ that does my master bedroom that has high pile carpet, I love my Roborock S8 Ultra that does my main living area. Hope all is well with you and the family!
I don't like the space that the dock takes up, so our vacuum lives in a utility closet in the laundry room. We cut off the bottom 3 inches of the closet door so the vacuum can go in and out. I'd rather see the cut-off door than the clunky dock taking up space in our small laundry room. One problem I haven't been able to solve is the vacuum shutting a room's door as it works, getting itself stuck. I've installed magnetic doorstops to hold the door open, and this works somewhat, but the vacuum often pulls the door off the doorstop. If you've had this problem, I'd like to hear your solution.
U can put a smart hydraulic arm to open the door. So when cleaning starts, the arm opens the door and leaves it open till the robots comes back to base
It's been mentioned many times. Most Asian Asians mop their homes every day, even twice everyday. Dreame has this function where you can assign the robot to rinse the mop pad multiple times according to room sizes/assigned rooms. Mopping with a dirty mop with dirty water is will just make the floors more dirty. Also, most invaluable, is the automated inlet and outlet piping where you'll only need to empty the dust bag every month and never worry about it.
I think this is a generalisation about "Asians" I know quite a number in my area who do not mop every day. For the ones that do mop mulitple times a day, they would likely be the ones that prefer to do it manually and not use a robot cleaner. There are other robot vacuum cleaners that can be plumbed into the mains water and drain, which solves the issue you have. You'd choose the correct robot vacuum cleaner for the situation you are in. Just do your research.
I have a query on where you get the specs from for the suction? On the roborock store (australian version) it states " -7000Pa Extreme Suction " This is for all the QRevo models I checked. Is this a mistake on the store site?
I've always hated dust collecting on top of robot vacuums. It would be nice if they installed air jets in the base that would blast the dust off the robot every time it returned to the base
Yeah that's nice. I'm pretty sure this model does have a mode where you can have it do a vacuum pass first and then a mop pass second. This can be a big deal because it won't wet the mop pad in this mode until the vacuum pass finishes. Given the dryer, as long as you don't ask it to vacuum more than once a day, it's almost as good as the Dreame depending on your scheduling.
I really wish Roborock just allowed us to tell the robot to not use lidar to keep it's distance from the furniture at specific locations. I have kitchen from Ikea which has 8.5cm tall and 11.5cm deep "hole" for your feet while standing in front of it. The vacuum is only about 7.5cm tall (excluding the lidar), so it could absolutely get in and vacuum there, but it refuses to because lidar is just high enough to not fit, so it doesn't even try, forcing me to vacuum/mop under there manually. The slim one looks interesting, but not enough for me to want it. I would honestly just want an option to tell it to go as close as it can using the side mounted sensor and not the lidar for a specified section on the map. And as for the new QRevo, looks really cool, but I refuse to purchase any dock with a bag system. I have my Roborock S7 and really like it, but I specifically bought the bagless cyclone dock.
Very cool but available for normal consumers in 2 years. 1300$ is way too much. Self emptying and auto fill with water was reserved for premium tiers and now its affordable considering possible failure not being fixed under warranty
I thought this was the first robo vacuum to go up stairs haha.. I'm happy with my Switchbot S10 but I think the mopping performance could be better. Can the QRevo connect to your water supply to auto fill and discharge?
I just need a robot vacuum that can actually handle dog hair. Our RoboRock S7 MaxV Ultra had to get taken apart and the dog hairs removed every other day. No point in the self enptying base if it clogs and i have to manually fix things anyway. And this is letting it run 3 times a day so there would be less hair between cleanings.

the Dreame X series has mops that can be programmed to stay in the dock when you do a vacuum pass.
