I've used the "How Not to Fail Tech" guide as an example of how to write instructions for manufacturing; and my team was pretty proud when Jay teched us at our first event and he said, "Wow! You guys actually read the rules! Nice job." I gotta get back in the Lemons game...
Not only have we failed at every rule mentioned in this video at one point or another (and more), some of the rules in the rulebook come from our car being terrible in ways that were perviously unanticipated. We're definitely better now than we were way back when we started in 2009 though. The real secret to passing tech at lemons is to remember to bring your tech sheet already filled out and the secret to doing that is to fill out all but the track on one tech sheet, make a bunch of copies of that, then leave the stack in the glovebox of your tow vehicle.
Would it be possible to make a quick cut vid of a random entry's inspection process to show it all being checked off? Would be educational as well as pretty funny to hear excuses. Could be like a gameshow where a lemons team win a 'i can read' badge on a 100% tech pass. Love these regular vids lemonsworld!
Sorta dumb question: my uncle had an old 04 Camry that he didn’t want (nor have anywhere to put it) and he just dropped it in my driveway one day. Could that be a lemon or does it not count? (I’m new)
No, it look like it's from Duff Beer's Jet Electrica 007. They already talk about that... thing-that-legaly-qualify-as-a-car-for-some-reasons-unknown-to-mankind
@@Alystas wait, is there any video of that car in action? Jet Electricas are rare as fuck and you can hardly find footage of one driving, would be a blast to see one around a track

We'll have a talk with Jay about his complimenting again. That guy...
in the Lemons iRacing skins, there is a default "Car Numbers R Hard" sticker already applied to the cars in the regular numbers spot.
1:56 Did we really, really, need this angle shot?
Lemons weekends are about 30 percent functioning cars on the track and 70 percent broken cars surrounded by exposed buttcracks.
Yes
You ain't a mechanic if you don't show that
Nice 👌 I'm glad yall cleared that up for me. But just to make sure. My numbers have to match, right!?!
No no--if you have different numbers on both doors and the roof, you get 3x the lap count. Little known hack.
@@jaylamm8698 this is awesome. I cant wait to try it.
@@willjunkin732
Downside is you get to do 3x penalties when you get a black flag.
But they don't specify if the numbers can be upside down depending what side you are reading from. I mean, c'mon, that's hard......
And they're supposed to be mirrored on one side, right? So that they're the same going from front to back on the car.

Or, use it as directed so that your car isn’t trying to kill you. You know, whichever.
Not dying is definitely high on the list. I do appreciate how hard you all work to save us from ourselves.
.... ? Bringing your own toilet paper there's a novel idea .

It's on our list of crap to do at some point. Also, it would have to be "I can KINDA read" badge.
Hey! Car Numbers are HARD!
Reading is too hard, I'm illiterate
Can someone sound this out for me?
@@ZerotheWanderer reeeeedng izz two hhrrrdd eye'mmm i'llll-it rrr it.
Is it as hard as car numbers?
Pretty sure the Grey area of 24 hours of Lemons rulebook is smaller than F1's and WEC's, that's why they don't read it. 🤣🤣🤣
A 4 inch paint roller would probably make things easier
"Adding more words"? That'll never work!
The 2 most useful acronyms in the english language are Rtfm and JFDI.
Im here to Lead not to READ
Rare for a Mopar.
I didn't quite understand the kill switch part - can we go over that again.
This lets a track official shut off your car from the outside in the unlikely hood of a crash.
Need more proof that racing CHEAP cars is rather expensive and tasking on the brain?
Honestly this is why I don’t race on the track.
There are always these guys who get the jollies by finding crap to knock you on.
school is important, but racing is importanter

youd have to give them evidence, that you got it for free or else Jay will kick your cheap ass out of there
@@luk__h the evidence is it’s been in my driveway now for 2 years after he said “I don’t want this anymore” lmao
@@PLNKYELLOWBLACK not enugh for jay
@@luk__h ok so how would I go about giving proof? Should I bring my uncle? I just have a car for free now that was collecting more dust than miles
Bring it. Tons of "Grandma's car"s in Lemons. Worst case you'd get a couple penalty laps (which I can guarantee you wouldn't)
🎵 = {car number} on a Ford Tempo.
Theme established.
😁
Anybody can participate?
Lemon cars.........OR Lemon teams................mmm
Why you gotta make it so hard, LeMons?
Numbers are hard, I like, only need, 11,000, and more, and I win, every race.
Car numbers are harrrrd

Asking a man to read a manual? Might as well ask him to frock up and put on some lipstick.
Yeah, they'll really frock it up! 🤣
I get rules are important, but I'm assuming you two probably suck all the fun out of what should be an enjoyable experience at the track.
My boss, a coworker bro, and I are going to enter this year at road Atlanta, and I can attest. NmbrsRnfactHrd OH MY GOOD I HAVE OUR TEAM NAME
