Yes the Canon EOS R7 Mirrorless Digital Camera has an impressive set of video features, and the camera is weather-sealed. As such, it would be a good camera option for filming triathlons.

Many thanks for this video, the information about the models. I am very thankful that the video exists. This is very helpful as a decision-making. I have a small question about the R7 and R10... Do they also have a sensor protector that covers the sensor when the lens is removed?
I've ordered an R7 body from you and I'm trying to figure out what the distance is from the back of the eye--cup to the front of the lens mount on the R7. I'll be using it with my present lenses via the Canon EF to RF control ring adapter, which will add 0.9" in thickness. I'm presently using an 80D, which has a distance from the back of the eye-cup to the front of the lens mount of 2 11/16." If the R7's similar measurement is much more than 1 3/4" I'll need a deeper camera bag!

They are a bit overpriced. Better get a Canon R6. But Sony colour science? Canon colours are best in the game, but you try people to convince with this argument? And no, not a Canon fan boy. Nikon for example has better DR and Sony.... hmm, they HAD the best AF system.
What do you think of these new Canon announcements?
APS-C camera is cool because it doubles the number of lenses you have when the camera has a good resolution. It is better than a teleconverter.
Is this a good videography camera for filming triathlons and stuff in that field

The Canon EOS R7 does offer a shield to cover the sensor when the lens is removable. However, the EOS R10 lacks this function.

can I use full frame RF lenses with the R7??
Full frame Canon RF lenses can be used on the EOS R7 and EOS R10 with a crop factor of 1.6X applied to the focal length.

Not sure if the specifics of your old camera. However, if it is an ef Mount, you can purchase the ef to RF mount adapter for $99.
