The fact that STORY is a sequel to STARS (album X) and it's deeply personal about how as a survivor of Cancer (THE BIG FIGHT) the story never ends but a new chapter/s may begin.... I've now listened many times and it's funny how the instant songs have grown and the growers have now also integrated and this is another amazing album from Kylie.
Nice to see someone appreciate the godess that is Kylie. Ive been a hardcore devoted fan since 1988 and it blows me away that this might just be my favourite album shes ever made. Theres just no stopping this amazing woman!

I had the exact same reaction when I listened to the last part of "Things We Do For Love". It's the exact same feeling you get when you listen to uplifting nostalgic 80s songs... It's a masterpiece.
Love love love this album from start to finish. I’d say Love Train is the weakest track and my favourite is Somebody to Love…that’s just pop perfection.
This album is so good!!! I love Vegas High, Hold Onto Now, Tension, Story.....love them all Transports me to the 80's movie soundtracks with Things We Do For Love....Vegas High I can imagine driving down Vegas on a sunny day in an open top car while it's playing
Loved your reactions, mine were so similar. I had her Locomotion single on cassette as a kid, it's amazing that she's still putting out incredible music, some of her best, these years later. If you like Somebody to Love (which is one of the highlights of the whole album), I recommend Carly Rae Jepsen's Emotion and Emotion Side B.

Its a fantastic album. The next single is very likely to be hold on to now. It seems like its Kylies own favourite. She also performed it before the album release, and it has taken off on itunes and streaming already and could possibly chart already. My favourites, aside from the singles are Story, hands and just imagine. You mentioned that it may be missing some emotional connection, but if you revisit just imagine, somebody to love and especially watch the radio 2 in the park performance of hold on to now, i think you may find that missing piece

You should check out the Tension outtakes, "Hello", "Vegas Baby", "Drum", "Heavenly Body" and the criminally neglected "Running". How that one isn't even a bonus track is crazy!
The one thing I think we are missing in this era is officially released remixes that you can buy. The first 2 singles all we've had is extend versions. I love the singles, Vegas high, just imagine, somebody to love, hold on to now - hell I love the whole thing really. I think, as I read someone else say, 10 out of 10 sounds better in the context of this album than when I first heard it and was more dismissive of it.

I kinda see what you were trying to say with Kiss Me Once and Golden. The singles are good but the rest is just forgettable. Sadly, I think this Tension album falls under that category as well. However, Aphrodite and Disco are pop bibles. I don’t think people make sonically cohesive pop records like those anymore.
