For those struggling with same sex attraction, it is one of many sexual issues. I struggled with lust and adultery, I asked the Holy Spirit to show me the root of my affliction and help me dig it up.
If you believe these feelings or urges never go away, then something is impossible for God. We often justify sin, thoughts and actions, thinking sin won’t let us go. Sin cannot be justified and must be dug up at the root. Our God has overcome the world and it’s ways. And remembering his grace is sufficient means your freedom may be a battle won with God's help.

Personally, I was attracted to the same sex at one point. I never acted on it but the thought was there. And then, I began to ask God questions about myself - How I ended up where I was as a single woman. I had a situation where I was at an old friend’s house making food for a party. A masculine woman who was gay asked me had I ever - if I had some or thought about it. I told her simply, yes. I thought about it and I had opportunities to explore it but when it got down to it, I chose not. I came to the conclusion that I knew the curiosity stemmed from what happened to me at the age of 5 by a 10 year old girl at my school. After that, the thoughts didn’t have room in my mind anymore because I chose to get to the root of- instead of opening the door to the lust. I am 100% heterosexual woman. I see the beauty in what God created between man and woman (family) which is why satan fights it so hard.

When I was in school, not many people were attracted to the same sex. Now 99% of kids are. I think that points to how entertainment influences people. I don't think people really understand what they feel and are pushed every time the wind blows.

I agree. Even though its clearly a sin, its still good to understand it and why people do it. Like my aunt who is gay now. She dated a lot of bad men and eventually got depressed and married a woman. I can totally understand her wanting to feel loved, and I don't demonize her, but I also won't tell her its a good thing. I just try to love her

  • @joshuar1770

The attraction is the result of a fallen, sinful nature. But the attraction in and of itself is not a sin. I’ve known people who hated their same-sex attraction and loved the Lord. This meant committing their attraction to Christ daily - to ask for help, and for forgiveness for any lustful thoughts they have due to this attraction.
God, can and will, deliver. But to think one cannot struggle in this area and still be saved is unbiblical. That said, being a practicing homosexual is a sin. 1 John 3:7-10 makes this abundantly clear. The ESV notes “the practice of sin.” Attractions are not something one practices; lusts and homosexual acts are.

Desire to sin is also sin. Jesus doesn't want a bunch of people fantasizing about defying His wishes, restrained from doing the evil that is in their hearts. We all need to shape our actions towards righteousness, but also pray to shape our hearts and minds to it as well.

  • @eclipsesonic

James 1:14-15 I believe weighs in on this issue:
"But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death."
So yes, while homosexual behaviours and activities are sinful, the desire or inclination towards such a sin can lead itself to giving in to the act, so the attraction over the same sex has to be fought against and prayed against as a believer.

Our problem is simply that in our unredeemed life our inner self, our spirit, was united to the self-loving spirit of Satan. As a consequence,we followed the desire of soul and body. When our bodies stimulated appetites in us, we gratified them. When our souls stirred up pride or dislike of this or hate of that or love of that- we just followed them. We were governed by our souls and bodies.

Shalom man of God and many blessings to you and to your beautiful wife and families (personal/ministries).
You spoke the truth man of God.
And I can see why the pastor in this clip went in that direction, but it does help when we see the process of a "thought" in a better light.
You were on to something when you compared a thought to a "seed." Because thoughts do carry that activity.
This is why The Most High God stresses the importance of casting down imaginations and bringing thoughts into captivity that contradict His Word (2 Corinthians 10:5).
All a thought needs is "soil." The mind, heart, spirit, and soul act as "soil." Because our internal make up is built to function under the system of reproduction (spiritually and naturally). And when we do not deal with ungodly thoughts right away, they can end up reproducing a nature and behavior pattern within us that can go against our design in The Most High's image.
This is why it is vitally important for believers to war against ungodly thoughts.
To have a thought that entertains same sex attraction is an ungodly perception. That thought alone unveils the reality of the fallen nature.
We are originally designed to think like The Most High God. If He does not entertain thoughts about same sex attraction, we are accountable for upholding the same mindset. Ungodly thoughts can hinder how we see the value of the human soul and the holiness of The Most High's image. This is why the regeneration process is necessary, vital, and required in this walk. Without the regeneration process our thought life will remain in a corrupt and contaminated state. We cannot reflect the beauty of The Most High's holiness with a mind that is bound to the fallen nature.
It is important to take the mind through a real purification process with The Word of God and through a real relationship with The Holy Spirit. It is The Holy Spirit that helps us and teaches us how to conquer the mind that is carnal and fallen.
God Bless you man of God and thank you for sharing this video. Shalom unto you and to your beautiful wife and families.

It's not a sin to be attracted to someone or something. The sin comes in once lust develops and then is acted on. However it is not natural to be attracted to the same sex. That attraction is the result of sin passed down through Adam. Our flesh will continue to desire It's cravings. We must conform our minds to God's Word over any thoughts or feelings that opposes it.

Thank you for this. This is specifically my struggle and I came to the same conclusion myself. I will say I think attraction and lust are two different things as well. Believe me or not but I dont have sexual thoughts about everyone I find attractive.
To those who argue the attraction itself is sinful, I dont seek to change your minds but do be mindful of how u come across and the affect u may have. I've unfortunately committed the act, due to my lack of understanding on this subject. I cant say for sure that I never would have given in had I not equated the attraction to sin. But I can say that being convinced that the attraction was a sin that I was already involuntarily committing produced hopelessness and a mindset that I may as well go all the way since I was incapable of completely eradicating the attraction. Whereas today I find it much easier to acknowledge my attraction and move on.

And to those who will say I shouldve prayed more or trusted God more and etc. Of course I prayed about it, cried to God about it, and to give perspective it took years of struggling with the attraction before I ever acted on it, and I even resisted multiple opportunities. You "eradicate" the error by starving it. It's quite simple. The pontificating is just a means of self justification. You don't sit with the thought, you acknowledge it's wrong and pull it down immediately. People who constantly struggle in this department usually do not have firm resolve to deny themselves or have so endulged in the lifestyle so as to have created deep roots within them. Hopelessness and self pity is not the answer. Self denial is. Casting down thoughts is. Closing doors and removing yourself from tempting environments is. Fear of God's judgement and knowledge of God's ability to give you freedom.. is the answer. The question really is... Will thou be made whole? Do you really want to be set free?

What is attraction? And sexual attraction specifically? Is it lust? If it is lust then yes same sex or any sexual attraction outside of marriage is sin.
I do believe the Scripture in Hebrews 4:14-16 that talks about Jesus being tempted but without sin. Hebrews 2:18 says (paraphrasing) that since Jesus suffered while being tempted, He is also able to help us during our temptation.
Soooo...honest question, does attraction count as temptation if you can say you are not lusting during your attraction (same sex or opposite sex)?
Edit: Same sex attraction is not God's normal though; however, it is a "fleshly" struggle for some Christians. The ACT of same sex lust and sex is sinful.

God did not leave us without a remedy, in more places than one in Scripture we're reminded that we are in a spiritual battle against the evil one. Those evil desires come from Satan, and they may arouse within us the sin nature that we are all prone to due to the fall. So whether it be same sex attraction, or lusting after people or things, we need to call upon the Lord, and ask Him to help us to mortify and abstain from those sinful lust which war and rage against our Soul. God will help us....even to conquer the battle that may take place in our mind. Thoughts attractions and sinful lusts can be reigned in and eventually abandoned.

For me I can totally understand why the gay thing is a tough subject. For example, my aunt only dated black men and after getting cheated on, emotionally abused, and other things, she started dating black woman and married one.
Im no gay, so its clearly a sin to me, but I can understand when people get rejected by the opposite sex enough, they just want someone to love on.
With my aunt, she is married with kids and if she decided it was a sin, she'd have to abandon a family. Its still wrong and its affected her views(liberalism can be demonic)
I've also had gay friends that know what I believe but I don't force it or push them away over it.
When I was in addiction, the only people that helped were people who loved me. The people who love to shout "sinner" at people and almost seem excited to put others down almost never help.

But to be doctrinally and theologically consistent homosexual desires/attractions are sinful because the desire is un natural . If God condemns the act how does that make the desire ok? We commit sin with sinful desires. We don't have Godly or neutral affections and call the outcome of those Godly desires sin. That's illogical.

Then bring it before the Lord every time you pray and remove yourself from those things that may activate those desires. Lastly the hard reality is this may just be your thorn to bear until God calls you home. We all must bear some things as we carry our own cross until we reach paradise. Remember Paul had to bear the thorn in his side mentioned in 2 Corinthians 12:7-9 and rely on God's grace to get him through. So whatever you do continue to give it to God!! Don't give up and don't give in and God will either deliver you from it or see you through it!! Stand firm in the faith and keep trusting God and God bless you in Jesus name 🙏🏿

It seems that the premise of the debate is all wrong from the standpoint that the assumption that the attraction to the same sex is simply a matter of the flesh we are born in. This is not to be equated with nearsightedness or any type of physical defect we might suffer from, or be afflicted with while we are in this world. We have to stick to spiritual principles when it comes to things like sexual deviance in whatever form it may manifest itself. Principally we should understand that deviant influences on any level, and especially when it comes to homosexuality is demonically influenced on a spiritual level. So then that would be where the source should be examined, and that is on the spiritual level. You don't look for the cause of nearsightedness on the spiritual level. It is a physical deficiency of which many human suffer from, and is easily remedied, but not to be conflated with homosexual thoughts. I think that in Matthew 5: 28 to 29, Jesus speaks directly to this; that if you look upon a woman with lust in your heart then you have sinned the sin of adultery even if only in your mind. So if you look at anyone with lust in your heart, same sex or not, you have sinned. In this case it becomes obvious that the attraction is sexual, and not plutonic, so therefore a sin within the heart. Homosexuality is demonic, not a birth defect. We do not wrestle with flesh and blood.

Many Christians have bondages that never were delt with at salvation are causing the uncleanness and fornication and greediness or covetous. So.. to be delivered from a bondage you go before the church leaders and confess the sin and then they will pray over you anointing you with oil. And with fasting sometimes and always prayer the person will be free. If you see it continue after the time with the edlers of the church... then its time to confess all the trespasses that are atill being felt by the God given conscience. Once the heart is clean then Satan has no more authority over that territory in your life. Familiar spirits from parents and grandparents is also to be part of the prayer to be free. The fasting is always a great part of bondage breaking. Oh... cleans the home. No more Netflix subscriptions. God will make you now a minister to those who are mired in the sins of fornication.

Before watching the video. I would say 100% same sex attraction is not sin...its not a sin to be attracted to something sinful..its what you do with that attraction....There's ppl who're attracted to stealing. Being violent, being promiscuous etc..and they recognize that attraction if acted on leads to sin..they strive to submit their lives to Christ..
there's Brothers and sisters who recognizes that homosexual acts or lust is sinful. So they fight against it..but they have same sex attraction. Because of different reason. One individual was abused as a child which lead to them having same sex attraction. Another was abused in Prison And they struggle with it recognizing the sinfulness of the homosexual lifestyle.
when talking about sexual sins the bible speaks about actions...doing the thing and lust..which is what needs to be defined.Ive heard a few definitions of lust ..one being looking with desire and if the opportunity presented itself you would do the act...that definition seems good...but a good definition of lest that recognizes the difference between just being attracted to...or finding someone beautiful ..and the deep desire that leads to action. Is needed.

I think the way that this was presented was very well done but still to me seems like a lot of mental gymnastics to arrive at a point that’s pretty obvious. The Bible discusses lots of behaviors or even mindset, covetousness for example is not necessarily an action but more based around desire to have more, that would be sin. But very few things do the scriptures classify as an abomination. Men dressing as women is an abomination. Homosexuality is an abomination. The fact that homosexuality is classified as an abomination should really be the end of the discussion as you don’t really need to progress any further than that.
The other thing to consider is that God is not interested in saving every human being and some human beings cannot be saved as they are Satan people. Jesus explains this in the parable of the wheat and the tares. Satan has scattered his seed somehow on this earth.
I Also think it’s worth pointing out that in many cases homosexuality is the result of sexual, physical, emotional, verbal or some type of abuse.

Also, what is the difference that makes a person believe? When 2 different people hear the same message, why does one believe and the other not. Is there something intrinsically better in the one that believes? If that is the case, there is something to boast about in the individual that gets saved. I'm not trying to be difficult or ugly or argumentative. But Ephesians 2 says that we were DEAD in trespasses and sins. Though we will never fully overcome every attack from our fallen nature, we still recognize them as being sinful and something to strive against. Same sex attraction is not a special category of the sin nature that should be viewed as benign. We are called to continually mortify our sinful flesh even at the thought level, not excuse it as being outside of ourselves because of the Fall. The first step to receive the overcoming grace needed to mortify our flesh daily is to agree with God by faith about what is sin. Grace works through faith, not through enabling pragmatism. May I suggest that you listen to the testimony and some insightful teachings from Rosaria Butterfield? They may help give you at least consider a new perspective that may even lead to you being instrumental in supporting someone struggling with same sex attraction to freedom. ❤

Sin is the transgression of the law. I JOHN 3:4. In II Timothy 2:22 we are told to flee youthful lust. So are you saying that when we are tempted with lust that we have sinned even though we have resisted the temptation? (See James 1:14,15) Notice it says when lust has conceived it brings forth sin. Meaning when lust have conceived in your heart than and only than is it called sin. (See Matthew 5:28)
