Richard is a One Man Band that pretty much play on Beale Street in Memphis, Tn. every night. His music is labeled as North Mississippi Hill-Country Blues.
Reminds me of the Summer of '10. I was on vacation with my family in Memphis. My girlfriend of 2 years dumped me over the phone. So dad and me went to Beale Street, got hammered on Wild Turkey 101 shots, and listened to this man. Good for the soul.
Saw him with this setup in Memphis probably 2004, I was 15 or so. I got a photo with him and my dad bought his cd for me. I haven't heard him in all those years, I'm thankful his stuff is on here.
First heard RJ back in about 2000 or 2001 playing this setup right here in front of the New Daisy Theater. He was wearing his Black "FTRC" t-shirt. I was going to head down to BB Kings but pulled up a folding chair, bought a street beer (or two) and stayed there until he stopped playing that night. Caught him in New Port Richey a year or so later opening for Van Morrison...Let's just say the opening act blew ol' Van right out of the water. Love this guy's music!
