I also do recording at home and I'm currently using a BM800 (10$) microphone for over 2 years now 🥺 I use bandlab application (on my android) to record songs. Here's my set up 👇 Microphone (with holder) + audio splitter + earphones + cellphone (installed with bandlab app) Hope this helped! ☝️

Edward, You neglect to mention the most important aspect of connecting a michrophone to an audio interface. NEVER connct the mic with phantom power turned on!!!!! When the cable is inserted, there is a period of short-cicuit that can destroy your interface and/or the mic. Not only are you neglecting to mention it. You actually DO IT! The phantom power is turned on when you insert the cable. NO! NO! NO! If I see an engineer do this in my studio, that guy is out-a-here. Never to return!

Scary process so thank you for such a detailed beginner friendly informative video. After many hours per day(for almost a month now) researching budget decent equipments. I got the AT2020 mic and the Scarlett 2i2 interface and Sennheiser 400s headphones. All with at least 20% discount each. Will eventually upgrade down the line but need to get started without breaking the bank atp. Thanks again...subscribed!
