- Thebausffs and his "Bausen's Law" have completley changed how people play League of Legends. The infamous "inting sion" playstyle popularized by Baus, which focuses on towers and map pressure while sacrificing KDA has divided many in the League of Legends community. Thebausffs almost single-handedly popularized the playstyle, spawning many enjoyers of Bausen's law. However, due to it being seen as "unfun" or "unfair" by some in the League of Legends community, Riot has repeatedly nerfed the playstyle by direct nerfs to Sion and the Bounty System. But that's not enough to stop Thebausffs, whose off-meta picks and unique approach to playing the game has made him one of the most popular and entertaining creators in the League of Legends community. kinda funny thing about riot possibly targeting him, almost every champ he picked up got very specific nerfs that also hurt his builds and playstyles for the champion (rammus, irelia, gragas, and obviously sion) as well as certain items being removed or changed that he used consistently (prowlers being probably the biggest one) and thats all on top of the actual game mechanic changes that are pretty explicitly direct nerfs to baus. he didnt just get the game changed, he warped it around him
And what is even better for us is because of that Baus will continue imagining new creative ways to play around the game with another weird strats and I'm all for it

Ain't no way Riot wasn't targeting Baus with those Sion nerfs. If they just threw in rune nerfs after not announcing it previously, and then conveniently throwing those in only AFTER Baus talked about it, no way in hell they weren't looking to screw him over.

The playstyle’s popularity reached its peak in Korea. Many players were trying it, and it was unhealthy for the game. Hence why riot nerfed at least that part of sion.

As an off-meta top laner, I personally think ppl should be able to find weird picks that they like for their role regardless of meta and innovate ways to make it work for them to climb. Riot nerfing those playstyles takes all that fun away from us.

Riot only nerfed it at that time because Baus brought insane publicity to the strategy in Korea. Imo, splitpushing isn’t a degenerate strategy at all. It’s when you can ignore enemies, die, and still get the turret easily is where it becomes a problem. This is just my take as a fellow top laner

The thing about Bauffs is that Riot has been systematically implementing changes to make the early game as unimpactful as possible. If you die, you get free homeguard to go back to lane faster, then there's bounties, then there's turret plates that forces the laning phase to last longer, then the jungle meta became so farm heavy even the likes of Lee Sin often don't show on the map until level 4, something only the greediest players would do 5 years ago. If junglers spend more time farming, they spend less time ganking.
With Riot going out of their way to make the first 15 minutes of the game as unimpactful and uneventful as possible and made changes to give compensation for the losing player not to bleed. Bauffs weaponises those compensations, capitalizing on it without actually being behind, catapulting a lead upon himself as a consequence.

I feel like they should reduce the base amount of gold you get from kills instead of doing all of those comeback mechanics.
In dota 2 the only comeback mechanic existing is hero Bounty, and it's enough simply because kills aren't worth much gold.
Sometimes killing your enemy in dota isn't even worth it because they get free regen after they respawn, meanwhile when you just keep them constantly low HP on lane, they can be zoned from gold and exp very easily giving much more advantage than 1 kill.

Pretty easy to explain, the reason he doesn't get permanently banned, is because of his farm, whenever man goes 0/10/6 or whatever and it's maybe 20 mins into the game, his farm is usually like 220 or higher then that, he gets objectives (usually a lot of towers) dragons if needed too and baron, man doesn't play for KDA he plays to win, even if he gets dicked on by someone and loses his lane, he'll make up for it with farm + knowledge, so, also, he did get banned once on his main account but spoke and showed evidence on how his playstyle worked and they gave him a 1 week or something.
A rioter explained that Baus' bans are because of the system detecting it as inting by their normal standards, but then after reviewing it, they see that fundamentally, the Baus is trying to win, and they have always said they encourage people to be creative and that there are no "wrong" ways to play the game. I believe it was Riot August who said it, but I'm not sure.

For me the baus is the best lol streamer. He is just a guy having fun playing game. He showed proof many times that he is not intting. I have never seen a player who can make riot to change the game itself. I just don't know why people hate him. A game is for fun not to tilted and angry.

Lol is a game no matter how old or uneducated you are both in school and game mechanics to play the game. Inting just ruins the concept of gaming (having fun) for at least your 4 other teammates only giving you the benefit of gaming.
More people makes bad plays than they do good plays and even more just click buttons, following others builds etc without knowing anything about the game mechanics that make it so strong. More means majority and since majority beats the minority (the ones who actually understand what they are doing) Baus is considered bad.

Well that’s not the problem, the problem is just getting him on your team lmao. Yes I think he gets more hate than he deserves but this guy was legit just coinflipping macro plays while his entire team is miserable to play this game.
He is a good player for sure like if you see him play off stream it’s like totally different he just actually ints more on stream to get views.
Like if you are him, you are mostly banking on the fact that enemy team doesn’t understand how to deal with a split push pressure and eventually he just drags the game long enough to where his champ scales with hp well enough that it doesn’t matter if they kill him.
Plus this guy hasn’t been consistent challenger since sion was actually op during his korea run. When that champ legit broken. The problem is his play style of getting teammates (assuming they don’t throw or die to the 10/0 irelia) more ahead and inting split pushes makes the game unplayable for his team where their only win con is like 40+min game lucky engage by him. Like who wants to play a game like that where the player on your team will always intentionally ruin all other win cons he can get his hands on

Baus is like a genius, most peoples have no idea what he is cooking, but somehow it works and he ends up being right in the end. He is just on another level than everyone else.

We have reached the point where gamers are surprised by another gamer winning by doing the objective.
He is definitely a genius and they are very few if any people who can mimic his style at the highest level. There are videos where Korean pros attempted to mimic his style such as Zeus but failed miserably
I literally had a horendous game with my main- Darius but because I was worth no gold I was rotating bot and top and got 2 outer towers for 600 G, inner tower for 700 G and inhib tower + inhib. Additionally, since I was behind with something like a 3 10 5 KDA the enemy underestimated me and sent only 1 guy to match me, instead of 2 or 3. As a result I killed the guy and got even more back into the game. I was not needed in teamfights since my team could just poke or go for burst and at worst we would trade 3 for 4 people. Eventually I was nuking the enemy Aatrox who got fed thanks to a few mistakes + ganks on my part. Riot increased the amount you get for downing towers and fed champions so much that Bauss' playstyle actually makes sense.

Something I also think makes his style so effective is that he plays to win the game while most soloq players play for themselves because they think they have to be carrying to win
more like: majority of players are obsessed with making big kills and plays and not focus on the real objective of the game... you can be 20/0/0 but if you dont kill turrets and dont hit the nexus you wont ever win, so many low rank players are actually not understanding what makes you win

She had 57% Winrate in Toplane
What this strategy did was basically Janna would permanently follow the Jungler, falling extremely behind in gold, which would make the enemy toplaner have a bounty on them even though they were 0/0/0 with the same CS as everyone else
This effectively made Toplane unplayable for most champions, only splitpushers and maybe champs like Shen could do something to make a play to counteract Janna making plays around the whole map with her Jungler

Riot clearly has some fucked up priorities. Goes completely out of their way to nerf an individuals playstyle, but lets zeri be completely broken for a full year before changing her, somehow lets yuumi exist in the game in the first place, and now lets azir and ksante be the most unbalanced champions in pro play without doing anything about it. The only problem with league of legends is riot games. Baus is fine

A well deserved subject for a video. Baus is one of, if not the single, most intelligent player at the challenger/pro level when it comes to macro, and his micro mechanics are god tier as well. His grasp on the mechanics of the game and creative theory crafting is on par with the entire League dev team combined: an absolute beast on the rift.

Before I played LoL I was a MLBB player and I did something similar to the Bausen's Law with a champion named Masha. She was focused on split pushing back then before she got revamped and deaths and kills don't matter to her playstyle cuz she puts up more pressure when 8 minutes in the game she can already break 2 turrets at least across the map with her fast attack speed and movement speed from her Q along with arrival/teleport spell
You forgot that they changed the minion movementspeed till minute 14, so proxy isnt as op anymore and also they changed the respawn times after his second sion guide where he explained why there are good and bad deaths in early game most importantly

There's a quote that applies here in metaphor only, I'm by no means calling him dumb: "never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience"
Why I think that's relevant is he gets a gold lead for himself, but also his lane opponent, which is his usual biggest criticism. I think he ended up in the perfect role to bring Bausens law to prominence. Unlike mid, jungle or ADC, top laners rarely have to carry in situations where both them and their lane opponent is drastically ahead in terms of gold. He has experience here as opposed to most tops whicch are used to gettting fed off of their laners expense, not alongside them. They aren't used to being strong but also having their opponent strong enough that they can't be ignored while you solo-win a fight on the other side but now half your base is gone.
Missed his pre 8 abuse short deathtimer to proxy and dive enemy while cannonwave pushing under turret strat to deny farm and gain tempo with faster reset while killing/ chunking his opponent, rip prowler sion 😢
And some other game tried the bounty system but ended up nerfing that to the grounds. It's cool that LoL thrives on it.

At the beggining, you almost don't lose tempo, which is what he is going for.(Of course, in normal circumstances, lol is a positive feedback game where a small advantage can lead to big ones, but because of the bounty system that has a negative feedback, and he abuses that to the max)

Also, you could use your argument for every other game as well since there will always be someone having a bad game and inting. The difference is that they have a bad game and just lose while thebaus has proven that even with a bad game, you can win.
If anything, he's showing the community you should never FF and that's as positive as it can get.

he's changed my understanding of the game dramatically. His playstyle is one of pure farm and objective focus to the extreme. It doesn't always work out but he isn't trying to lose the game
The Bauss, an inspiration for us Sion players, and thanks to his playstyle and people bitching, Sion and splitpushing have been heavily nerfed.

This is kinda like Dota. There we call this "creating space". If our offlaner (bruiser/playmaker) is having a rough game - we mainly try to "pull the enemies" to us and make them waste time as much as possible so the rest of our team has more space to farm etc. :p Fascinating to see.

Prowlers dash got removed because it was u healthy for the game overall. Same with Stridebreaker dash and Galeforce which also were removed.
