it's funny, i said "wheat thins" when i saw them, but then immediately corrected myself and said frosted mini wheats, then wheat thins pops on the screen 😂 as for running, i too notice that morning runs are no good for me. for some reason, if i wake up around 10am, and go run around 3pm-4pm, fasted, i kill it. but if i wake up around 8am, and go run at 9am, i feel horrible for the first 3-4 miles.
If my calculations are correct, 4k calories come from carbs, 3K calories remain to reach 7K, how many fats and proteins absorbed? either 200g of fat and 185g of protein or 100g of fat and 375g of protein, solution 1 and 2 seem really extreme.
I have been trying to increase my testosterone through diet. I have seen many videos and have been told by my doctor to avoid peanuts and almonds. Are you adding peanut butter to your shake? Can you cosider changing to Macadamia Nut butter? Hope you see this info. Thanks Lionel your great.
I increased mine by going low carb verging on carnivore, pretty much meat, eggs, dairy, a few avocados, some berries, a few squares of dark chocolate and occasional macadamia nuts. Just completed Ironman Tallinn on zero carbs in a competitive time without bonking.
Hey Lionel, I am a big fan of yours and I support you in all races, truly. So please don't take this as a negative comment about your diet. But... Have you ever considered adding fats to it? It seems completely carbocentric, and I suspect your body has literally no fat adaptation. Maybe that's the bottleneck in performance you talk about? You should talk with a professional sport nutritionist that works with pro triathletes. Love from Europe!

@@lukepaulson3428 thanks for your (none-nuanced and simplistic) perspective on something I doubt you know much about. Judging fat metabolism by how somebody looks is over simplistic. Human biology is much more complex than that. If he, as you say, "eats anything to don't lose weight", he better eat more fat: 1 gram of fat is 9 calories, 1 gram of carb and protein is 4 calories. Besides that, our body uses different energy sources at different intensities. It is a myth that we make energy only from carbs. At rest and during aerobic effort, fat is the optimal energy source. I could explain you why but this is not the place and you don't seem to be the person either. World class, top level long distance triathletes train their body to keep the effort aerobic also at very high HR and lactate levels, also by eating low carb diets. Google "Dan Plews Low Carb".
