  • The collar that came with our rescue dog was chafing her neck and matting her hair. I've aways heard that rolled leather collars can help with this, so in this leather working video I make a new one for her!
A little different from my holster and knife sheaths... this goes together surprisingly quickly! Any questions on the construction or tools feel free to ask in the comments.

the soldering iron for terminating a stitch line is brilliant! Quite the lucky doggo to be sporting such fine craftsmanship.

Nice work and different. I like it for the variety. This was the first time I have seen a mini paint bottle shaker. Looks like one used in the hardware stores. I have not used acrylic paint for an entire project. (Interesting) Makes me want to try it. You always come up with something different to inspire fellow crafters. Thank You for your contribution to our craft!

I love watching you work! Could you point me in the direction of your boxed tools? Both the punches and the “multitool” that you used of the thread. Good tools make great products!

Those are from WUTA leather. You can buy direct from their website or just look them up on Amazon.

I thing WUTA has good quality tools for a reasonable price. Won't break the bank. I like the 4mm chisel/punch set that is featured in this video. They are same size a 2mm diamond chisel. The 5mm is the same size a the 3mm diamond chisel. I also like the 2mm and 3.8mm for tighter stiches on smaller projects. 0.08mm tiger thread for the 4mm and 5mm, and 0.06mm tiger thread for the 2mm and 3..8m.

Great idea for a coller. You always have new tool every time I watch. May I ask what glue do you use

It's from an inexpensive set from Amazon. Just search "leather cutting dies"

Thanks for the video. Learned something new and will be picking up a Wuta soldering iron. Where did you get the soldering iron, I can't find it on Amazon.

What's the point of wetting the laser before painting? does it help the paint to sink in a little? And what finish are you using? I've tried, resolene, atom wax, leather sheen, but after a few month depending on how much time the dog spend outside, dyes (if not deep dyed) and paint will eventually come off... :/

You nailed it! I wet the surface of the leather to allow the paint to "bite" a bit more. And yes, I fully expect to see some wear from use . . . nothing wrong with that. I tried turquoise dyes, but none really gave the color I was wanting. So I used paint. Thanks for watching!

Really love your work! Where in Texas are you? I am just outside New Braunfels. I love how your dog is protecting you from all those "bad guys" lurking about. My dog plays fetch like yours! Mine hasn't mastered the bring it back to me part yet!! I have to go get it. Again, awesome work!
