Yussef (Dayes) always gives everything when he's behind the kit. Legend. When they played a gig in The 100 Club in London last week, at some point after an insanely intensive track, he leaned on a speaker and looked like he just ran a marathon on 11th gear. That wasn't the last track and he played the rest of the gig with the exact same power. Love the man. My second favorite drummer :)
This is great music with fantastic musicians, jazz has always has a certain swing too it throughout its evolution that's allowed it change. This has a hard chop too it because its driven by the drummer which is fine but even art blakey had full swingin' rhythm section you would't know where to film. I love it I just am always bias to 59' and that sound. That drum style where hand and feet were equally valued. Create more sound with less speed none the less young man is incredible.
nothing hapenned.. I believe they just are very good and creative musicians, and wanted to pursue their own career, with other musicians, so they can get better and better and discover new sounds. In my heart I think they will rejoin, in the future, more mature musically and with ideas plenty.
they're not a trio, they are a duo. The bassist is Rocco Palladino and the guitarist is Mansur Brown, the latter having played on the album Black Focus and participated in most of their live sessions.
@@Peter32tjrksor Dude please do that, I wish you much success You can do it brother. Im building a studio in my yard right now, I love it, please pursue your goal with a plan! Good luck
I mean what a treat Mister Colin Brown, Thankx very much for this, since it seems that you're the one who filmed this... Love from Paris-France, where you're welcome anytime.
Personally i dont hear dilla’s influence. Why’s everyone always got to connect everything to the man? Dilla’s influence is why less important than everyone try’s to claim.
playin those drums like your life depends on it... love this!!

I know this is Wu's song with no guitar on the track, but Mansur didn't have to sideline himself so hard T_T
so sad they broke up! I just discovered them the day after that happened.. WTF

The Trio - Bass - Drums and Keys had guests on this occasion.
The guy playing drums isn't a guest.
they're not a trio, they are a duo. The bassist is Rocco Palladino and the guitarist is Mansur Brown, the latter having played on the album Black Focus and participated in most of their live sessions.
Mansur Brown is a striking guitarist, I've always heard
Wow. I hear things in these guys I haven't felt since Bitche's Brew and Cantaloupe Island.
been 5 years but I couldn’t agree more. Its different, but in a refreshing modern way. Absolutely love their creativity and flow
7:20 to 7:45 is insane. Just look at the face of the guitar player, really says it all.

This has a lot of J Dilla influence - Dilla is somewhere right now smiling BIG UPS!!!
It reminds me a lot of his Welcome to Detroit album

@@freddie7981 clearly, you’re just an idiot.

When you had a few drinks the watching this video, a wobbly camera is hard to watch, can I recommend a tripod?
I'm pretty sure this is just a guy at a concert with his phone.
Ce que c'est bon!
