    Gratefully - I Heard Stevie & Double Trouble Live MANY Times - Both Before & After They All Got Sober! If I Had Been PRIVALEGED To Have Been Sitting In The Audience For This Taping - I Sure Would Have Been More Enthusiastic In My Appreciation For Stevie, For His Band & The Incredible Music They Made! I Know This Performance Was Taped For TV...But I Don't EVER Remember Sitting Down Listening To These Guys...You Just Couldn't! It Was SO Great To See & Hear These Guys After They Went Thru Their Respective Rehabs & Came Together Again - Even BETTER Than Ever! They Were Really Present & Enjoying Themselves Like I'd Never Seen Them! When I Saw Them Last Just A Few Weeks Before Stevie Left Us, & Being In 12-Step Recovery Myself, I Told Stevie How Proud I Was Of His Committment To His Sobriety & How He Was Sharing His Story With His Audiences! Stevie Had Also Recorded His Story - To Be Shared - In His Home AA Meeting On New Years Day Of 1990...➡️It Can Be Heard In Its Entirety, Told By Stevie Himself, On RUclips...Search SRV Sobriety Story - WELL Worth Listening To! We Didn't Just Lose An Amazing Musician & Performer When Stevie Died - We Lost A Special, Good Man & He Is STILL Very Much Missed! Soul💞Soul, Stevie, Always!💗😘

    Man, I miss SRV so much! I'm a drummer but a musician and I can tell he's at his prime here just by the way he plays. So flaccid, natural, and technically brilliant. Just a monster at this time and no telling how far he would have gone with his god-given talent. Not only that but at this show he couldn't have a better band backing him up and, especially the keyboardist, and he hadn't been with him the whole time. Kudos and shout out to my man Mr. Chris Layton. The best blues rock drummer with the most awesome groove ever.

    • @DanPolett
      @DanPolett 10 дней назад +1

      Agreed. Not such a big fan of Chris Layton though. To me he's a little repetitive and boring. But I don't know if that's the way Stevie wanted it or what. For me, in my opinion Bobby Caldwell(johnny Winter) was the greatest drummer blues or otherwise right behind Mitch Mitchell(Jimi Hendrix) and number one:John Bonham. Peace fellow music fan!

    • @JoseMTamez
      @JoseMTamez 10 дней назад +2

      @@DanPolett Those are some great choice drummers Dan, but not one of them is a true blues drummer. Layton played what the music called for and it had nothing to do with what SRV wanted. That's why SRV had him in his band because he played the right choice licks and his groove was exceptional. IMHO only sir. You really think SRV was forced and have to settle playing with any musician? No man, I don't think so. It doesn't work that way...lol

    • @DanPolett
      @DanPolett 10 дней назад

      @@JoseMTamez Forced?? No, I said that perhaps Stevie being that it is his band and he is obviously the star, "might" have had some say in the way his drummer played for each particular song. I'm sure Chris was able to improvise along the way but I believe ultimately Stevie controlled the music,just saying. AS far as being a "true" blues drummer anyone who could and was invited to play with Johnny Winter HAD TO HAVE BEEN AN INCREDIBLE BLUES DRUMMER, because Johnny Winter is arguably the greatest blues guitarist ever. Johnny's love and respect for the blues is unmatched. He carried the torch for the blues and deserves way more credit! So, Bobby Caldwell is one of the best drummers(Blues or otherwise) to have ever lived and there is no comparison that can be made with Chris Layton. Good day!

    • @JoseMTamez
      @JoseMTamez 9 дней назад +2

      @@DanPolett Apples and oranges sir. I respect your opinion but we just happen to disagree. I am a drummer and I've played in many blues bands and I know hard it can be and also how boring it can get. Do you play drums? How long have you been playing drums? I'm looking at it from a drummers perspective, and not just a fan of blues and my favorite guitarist. For the sake of argument, I'll leave it at that. You have a great day too sir.

    the pain that he brings thru his guitar just moves me to cry.... that raw unearthly sounds that he squeezes out it... its sad we lost him but having these videos makes remembering him easy.

    Not many like stevie around today. I mean great players who are masters of the guitar but it’s still the music that counts most. We need more Stevies, Robben Fords and Nalle Colts etc in my opinion :)

    Rene' Martinez,5th-member of the band never misses a lick,either👍Worked in Dallas at the time of Stevie's passing. The complete city was mourning -- I literally saw people crying in cars at 4 way intersections with lights...no one was going anywhere. Dallas radio station playing in-sync,every vehicle. It was an absolutely awful day

    Was a huge SRV fan back in the '80s, even though as a young "hipster" punk and new wave etc. were more my style of music. Still remember watching the 11 o'clock news in LA when news of the helicopter crash came on.
    35 years later this stuff sounds even more brilliant than it did back then. RIP.

    Mozart and Stevie Ray Vaughan
    Left their body at 35
    It was like Motzart asked God
    Let him have one more crack at it
    And YHVH said: You know what I say
    Humans live once
    But this rare occasion
    And Motzart came back
    As Stevie Ray Vaughan
    Blasted on the scene
    Making a powerful contribution
    But left the same age again 🎉😮😊🎉
