All these years later and it’s still clear that what I witnessed was a very rare occurrence. An otherworldly gift that I cherish to this day. Sure miss you brother Stevie, thanks for the love you passed our way🎶
Missing Stevie on this 31st anniversary of his passing on August 27, 1990. I clearly remember the first time I heard his music - in jr high school my buddy played SRV's first album for me in his room, he had been telling me I had to hear this guy who was as good as Hendrix. I also remember being in my beat-up Chevy Celebrity when I heard the news on the car radio Stevie passed (and the first news reports had Clapton and Jeff Beck also possibly in the helicopter.) Thank goodness for YT and the folks who post so many amazing videos to remind everyone of SRV's incredible talent and soul, and I can spend another day with Stevie's music. 🔥
If you have never seen Stevie Ray live in person, you have missed one of the greatest performances you can not imagine. I did the lights for SRV and Double Trouble a few times and was sure SRV was/is the greatest guitar player ever. Up there next to Hendrix and EVH.
I was at his Live in El Mocambo in Toronto in 1983. Best damn show I've ever seen. He gave me the guitar that he's playing in this video, then took it back. The one with SRV on it. Motherfkr lol
I'll never forget the very first time I ever heard of SRV around 1983 or 84.Was at a cabin with a bunch of work friends and this one guy,who was originally from Texas, pulls out this cassette tape(google cassette tape all you young un's,lol). He says you gotta listen to this guy play guitar. Well we did,and yeah I was blown away.Sitting around the campfire listening to the greatest guitar player I have ever experienced. I personally put him at #1 on my list.Never get tired of listening to this legend play. Too bad his catalog isn't bigger. That's why I love all the live videos I can find to hear some variations. This was a great show, thanks for posting.

LIFE WITHOUT YOU (17:04) Who could have thought that at age 31 Stevie Ray would only have four years and one day of life left on earth. Considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time, if not the best, Stevie Ray is credited with introducing generations of rock fans to the blues. Stevie Ray passed away victorious against his demons of cocaine and alcohol one month short of four years of sobriety, which he began September 1986, and died four years to the day after his father Jimmy Lee died, August 27th 1986.
Yes Stevie and I were both born 1954,I miss him as I am very proud how he got himself together alcohal/ drug addiction dilemma ,he was already a fantastic example ,To let these things go, I love ❤ him ,love his music and I will always miss him forevermore
Stevie Ray Vaughan was a Sweet Soul. A great human being. And just happened to be a wonderful fantastic blessed from Heaven guitar player. I met Jimmy Vaughn a few years ago. He is also a Sweet Soul and a fine human being. Both of the Vaughan Brothers knew a dear friend of mine. His name was Ron Thompson. Blues Legend I love them like a brother. I'm privileged to have lived on this Earth with the Vaughan Brothers and Ron :-)
How I missed him as a kid I'll never know. In my dark days as a teenage alcoholic I loved (and still love "the master of the Stratocaster" I WORSHIPED Hendrix, Joplin, and Morrison (all drank and used themselves to death at age 27. I was born in 1960 About five years too late for Woodstock and Monterey Pop but thanks to RUclips I can still get it as a senior classic rock / blues guy. Yesterday I saw SRV being interviewed by Hall who said "people say you are better than Hendrix. SRV (extremely humble man) said "there is only one Hendrix, I just try to do the best I can". He too beat his demons! Accidents happen even to the very talented. He has four years of sobriety when the helicopter went down. He talked about sobriety from the stage reaching millions! He said "I thought the party would never stop. It stopped"! Rich and UNBELIEVABLE talent did not keep him clean. I['m thankful that he died sober. His work lives on! I can't help but wonder what would have happened if JJ, Hendrix, and Morrison has all sobered up and shared with us the gift of recovery. It would have shown us all what is available. I'm 41 years sober now listening to SRV at 3:00 AM. I'm grateful I can enjoy him now!
Same here. 1960 baby. But we lived through the Best of times! No denying that. And all the artists of our time. Pure legends. Many of them but SRV is one exception of greatness! He climbed all up and down that guitar 🎸 down right dirty blues.

@@jamessveinsson6006
I was at the Aaragon show too. 3 rd row standing. 2 Nd row you couldn’t see everything.
Lots of fans onstage, his silk scarf touching the strings. Sweating like a stuck pig. I remember he double timed Scuttle Butting. Didn’t see how he could play it so fast
@@JohnDoe-jc3cl I was at that show and I was probably fifth or sixth row standing I love the The venue so much I saw Keith Richards there too
@@jamessveinsson6006
The Aragon was rough. Real bad neighborhood. I remember broken beer bottle glass on the floor that night. Yuck !
8’ plywood pannels put up so you couldn’t climb up and touch the stage ( or any of the musicians).
Couldn’t stand the Weather Tour. Very nice to hear every song with ferocity, just like on his 2 records.
No ! Reese Wynan, so little Stevie played his @$$ off. No joke.
His set was just a blurr of great songs.
His silk scarf was landing on the strings, but somehow didn’t muffle them.
Saw him play at Chicagofest ( navy pier) AND Soldier’s Field and the Chicago blues festival.
Navy pier show EVERY ONE BONDED and stood up like a pop up book, when he cut into Voodoo Chile.
Everyone listening to Hendrix at home and he plays Voodoo Chile and Third Stone note for note, tone for tone
That was a force of nature.
A phenomenon. Every one stood up at the same time. And they didn’t sit back down ❗️
JAMES VEIN : Sing on brother, play on drummer..........
1985. That was almost 40 years ago.........

Stevie had so much more to give. Even after all these years... losing him still hurts. So bad. Every time I listen to his genius, my heart tells me... this loss is going to hurt... forever.💔

I have to completely agree with that 🌹🦋
He is my favorite musician and inspiration
First time I seen SRV was in Seattle @ number shoot! My friend got tickets and I didn't want to go! When he came out he looked like a refugee from salvation army in the early days! Boy was I wrong! He was fantastic & when he came to Seattle I never missed his show! The best guitar player I have ever seen!
This is a guitar legend right here I love this player he’s one of my biggest idols. He’s a guitar god

Lonnie Mack... From my home town McMinnville TN 👍😁
Epic performance! Thankyou Stevie Ray Vaughan for all the great love you shared with your music! I hope you felt the love given back to you This was a great experience, I miss you more 💙 You are a true Legend! 🎸🎤🙏
Truly gifted. There are other greats but, each to his own. SRV owning it !!!
Stevie was the first artist I came in contact with that impressed the presence of a higher power at play to me. All these years later and it’s still clear that what I witnessed was a very rare occurrence. An otherworldly gift that I cherish to this day. Sure miss you brother Stevie, thanks for the love you passed our way🎶
Yeah, Stevie and his guitar were testifying.
Beautiful true statement!

Stevie Ray and Hendrix who else enough said gone but never forgotten R.I.P.
I don't always listen SRV. But when I Do so do my neighbors.
HA HAHAAA! shit good one!
If I was your neighbour, I wouldn't complain! :)
Aw hell, I always complained to my neighbor playing this music. I had to go up and bang on his door.
NOT LOUD ENOUGH!
He complied.
BWAHAHAHA... We both have neighbors who don't like us...
Excellent! Same here!!!
It been since ‘92 , brother we miss you.
Missing Stevie on this 31st anniversary of his passing on August 27, 1990. I clearly remember the first time I heard his music - in jr high school my buddy played SRV's first album for me in his room, he had been telling me I had to hear this guy who was as good as Hendrix. I also remember being in my beat-up Chevy Celebrity when I heard the news on the car radio Stevie passed (and the first news reports had Clapton and Jeff Beck also possibly in the helicopter.)
Thank goodness for YT and the folks who post so many amazing videos to remind everyone of SRV's incredible talent and soul, and I can spend another day with Stevie's music. 🔥
@@jennifervest7827 when was that show you regretted missing? I did the same with primus back in '95 down in H-town.

A fantastic musician... a great loss, but his music lives on...x
Can't use evh
It’s never talked about, but he has a great singing voice so much talent!
He had a great voice. But of course it was overshadowed by his unbelievable guitar talent.
LEGENDS NEVER DIE...STEVIE IS IMMORTALIZED IN VIDEO MUSIC FOR GENERATIONS TO WATCH & LEARN HIS GENIUS😉😎😇🎸
Video music? You're an idiot.
THANK GOD FOR HIM !!!
HE WAS CALLED HOME TOO EARLY !!!
Dont forget his statue in Austin, texas
It doesn't get any better than this!!
Gone way to soon. We all miss you Stevie.
His performances would be worth seeing today and almost guaranteed to bring any price charged. Missing Stevie Ray Vaughan!
True That !!! 👌🏽👍🏼

Stevie Ray is simply the best guitarist ever. Love his voice also. Such a huge loss to music. He will always be loved, respected and remembered. I'm passing him along to my grandsons.

SIMPLY MINDBLOWING !
AMAZING!
I've learned a lot from watching SRV in action. I put a swipe in every song I write
Thanks Stevie Ray Vaugh for keeping Funky Blues My Man your fan Sharkie International in DC
His monolog on "Life without you" is eerily prophetic......and so true. RIP Stevie, you did it right.
beautiful
S.R.V. was and still is the best guitar player I ever seen, I miss him so much, God bless you Stevie. got the chance to see you jam 15 times, was there at his last show. S.P.M.
You are indeed a lucky person. I used to see it on television on Austin City Limits show every week.
@@irmacavazos8186 Thanks, your appreciation leaves me speechless. S.P.M
I always love the RESPECT he gave to players, especially the elders, SO MUCH CLASS!!
You keep warm in the cold winter, thanks from Russia.
Great version of life whithout you
The man is his own planet. An enigma. SRV forever!
I remember watching this from the balcony at the Orpheum! Unbelievable!
Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison..............The BEST!
