This song feels like a epiphany right before death: memories and nostalgia, realization, closure and bright and grand but also melancholic happines before resting in silence. It always makes me emotional
bro don't do this to me this comment is getting to me fr
You still alive tho?
Yes
YES
Incredibly well put!
At his show he said that the stacked melodies of this song are meant to represent the beauty of different cultures and nationalities living in harmony and I though that was pretty dang rad.
One could say it's the harmony of difference
Damn
Well it definitely feels that way, he was successful
I feel so blessed at 50 I'm still discovering new music like this that moves me ...thankyou
I saw Kamasi Washington perform "Truth" LIVE at the Met in Philly as an opening act to Herbie Hancock. Without Question, one of the GREATEST performances I've EVER heard in my entire life. After "Truth" I was sold. Kamasi is coming back to Philly in May 2023 performing at the City Winery. Get your tickets NOW.
Yours Truly,
The Music Maestro♥️🎶🎙🎵🌹
Wow, comment ruined my morning i missed the concert 🥴🥴
One of the few jazz composition that me, a post-rock/shoegaze listener, could relate and highly addicted to. This is not music, this is spiritual experience.
Bruh it’s music
Oh yeah, as a lover of both Jazz and post-rock, Kamasi's progressively fusing overtures and layers are deeply satisfying!
My daughter was born because of this song. Before that I didn't want kids. 💯 Percent truth.
Why make a distinction between music and spiritual experiences?
@@jacknelson5891 you must be fun at party
"This music is too good for these bubbles" is what I thought when I first heard this while working as a dishwasher a few years ago.
:-D
Great Comment...
Bubbles and this music pair so well! 🥂
Dishpigs unite
I'm a 60 yo white guy from Europe - into your typical rock, jazz, classical - this has to be one of the best pieces ever put together. I had the fortune to live in Kenya back in the 70's - best, most beautiful place I've ever been in, with genuine people that taught me a lot as a young teenager. This reminds me of Osibisa, Santana, 70's rock, Miles Davis - music is such a powerful tool, enjoy the intensity while you can
After 8 Years of Homeland, this was the best song to wave it goodbye!
Apperently he did the title sequence too
Go back and watch S1 E01 and listen to what Carrie puts on after Saul discovers the hidden surveillance she has in place on Brody...
Michael Fitzgerald 🤔aaah ...gonna have to go back and check that out 😉 👍🏼
such a great series!! 💪🏼💪🏼 agree, great music piece to end it 👍🏼
Don you are so right. I loved that show never wanted it to end. The finale was beautiful. The song was perfect
kamasi's father is on his right on the flute, helping to make that magic!!! wow!!!! 👍🏿👍🏿
Wow! I did not know.
That is Mr. Rickey Washington!!!
He also plays soprano sax. He joined Kamasi on tour with Herbie Hancock, all jamming together at the encore. So much magic!
😮
Thanks For Sharing!!! Fun Fact
Kamsi’s music is what I can only describe as humanity’s best way of communicating with God.
Great description
Cant believe this is my 1st time to listen to this beatiful Jazz muisc. Homeland S8 E12 brought me here...Wow
Me too 😊
That lady who sings blesses my soul
That's Patrice Quinn, bless her
What a wonderful spirit 🎶💕💯😌
I was repeatedly listening to this song in week when my two beloved bunnies died. Everytime I hear this again, I can't handle with memories coming back like right now. These two furballs were only beings, who always were happy to meet me, selfless and loving. Miss Bubu and Alienek :/ Bitter times.
The loving relationship between a person and their pets transcends the human invention of language (much like music). It's purely, truly love. May they rest in peace and serve as a source of joy, love, and emotional power for you ❤❤❤
lots of love friend
What a wonderful comment!! Thank you! Keep sharing your comments about connection to animals!
i really miss the original video..... it was soundtrack of a major change in my life :(
spiegel311 bro same :/
what was the original video?
Kkk Mmm all I can say is it had millions of views and it was beautiful
It's shame it was taken down. Still don't know why, but it was indeed such a beautiful piece of art.
I can't put into words the emotions I felt by watching the original video. Everytime tears were falling down and every damn time it made me think: "Damn, I am really lucky to be alive today".
This session offers a healing aura, too. Kamasi gave the world a gift. It should be used to do good.
Truth is solitary. It is born of our individual experiences. As much as words, art, song...expression might convey meaning to others, it cannot express Truth. Yet, in spite of this, Truth can be shared. It is shared through love, compassion and kindness. It is in a shared embrace, a shared look, a shared laugh. Through sharing, my Truth, your Truth, their Truth becomes our Truth.
Im high AF listening to this on the couch with my eyes closed. Full on dreaming of being in a 70's James Bond montage floating through space.
I was JUST thinking that last night at his concert in Berkeley. They need to do the soundtrack, with Patrice singing Fists of Fury.
Please tell me why I'm just now hearing about this group. Beautiful done!
This legitimately made me cry. This sound brought on so many emotions all at once. Thank you for letting me feel that. I'm going through a rough time right now, & really needed this.
this song saved my life
Thank you Homeland I love Kamasi
Thisis the music of and for and from the beutifull world we could had have. I am sending all of my understanding and love to all of you who feel touched while listening to this piece. It happens to me every time I listen to it. Every time I am touched and I become sad because I am afraid we will never live in this world. Love!
One of the most beautiful pieces I have heard in years. Thank you.
Hi Kimberly Anderson AMFT Are you now an LMFT?
@@sereneamani1713 Nope. Not yet. :)
💯💯💯💕🤗
Going to see him in Atlanta, April 30th 2023... I cannot wait.
How was he?
Loving Patricia here as always. There is something deeply spiritual about the music of Kamasi Washington and his amazing fellow musicians. So appreciative.
This is the most damn special song I've heard this year. Kamasi opened with it at his Chicago concert last week. I wasn't familiar with K. Washington yet.... but damn this is special, especially live with a summer' Chicago breeze stirring the hair on your neck. Chilling good...!!!
Made me fall in love with Jazz all over again
The original composition makes me fallen in love with jazz. On my repeat over 6 months
This is one of the most touching transcription of life's symphony I've ever heard. Thanks.
Homeland brought me here
ya, I heard this song played at the Hollywood Bowl a few years ago by Herbbie Hancock and co. I haven't been able to figure out the title of the track till it was played on the series finale and I was finally able to put the name to such a powerful melody. Unforgettable, beautiful song.
same
me too!
I had never heard of this guy until the finale of Homeland
A mí también, saludos desde Buenos Aires, Argentina
The intro to Truth brings out such emotion and brings a tear to the eye. Sublime!
One of the best performance that i've seen. A tear dripped here...
"Greetings from Moscow professor, the russian's s 400 missle's defense systems sold to iran and turkey, has a backdoor, it can be defeated specs to follow Stay tuned"
Thanks for Bringing me here "Homeland"
i cant wait to see this group live!!!!
Everybody is talking about the other video, but i am right here, trying to pick up the pieces of my brain from the ground.
God bless these musicians!
I wish I could share this my old friend John Brandon RIP "my real music lover friend".. good stuff there John
Homeland brought me here....
Kamasi as a sax player is the natural continuation of Gato and Trane. Very deep & soulful. I can't wait to see him soon!
Tell me, if you can find these types of diamonds on RUclips, virtually whenever you want, how is it possible that there are still people watching TV ???
ATTENTION: This music causes addiction. Can't stop listening!
I'm here for the 869th time !
I actually wept to this. So soulful, genuine, and innocent.
i was looking for the official video, no longer exists... the video was a masterpiece same as the song.
It may be too late, but there are some people uploading it periodically:

Homeland brought me here. Loved the performance.
Escutei sob efeito de cogumelos. Achei que eu tinha morrido e passou um filme da minha vida dentro da minha cabeca. Lindo ! Obrigado !
It really doesn't get any better than this
Impossible to listen to and not feel something. Amazing.
I have only got 1 question, WHY ISNT THIS GUY BLOWING UP ALREADY? HIS MUSIC IS BEYOND SPECIAL!!! Thank God for this musical gift
Living my life 13:09 at a time now. This is a piece to the soundtrack of my life and now I'm crying..happy tears.
You are channeling Coltrane 100% in terms of the spiritual sense. Love supreme!
I am just picturing Saul's face when he realises he has another asset in Moscow
Incredible! Words can't make justice to the power of this music! Kamasi is a genius!!!
One of the best pieces that I have heard in a long time.
I was Biking in an island near Jeju Korea. It was me two of my friends, and this song. It was one of my favorite times in my life.
Almost a new genre of jazz. sort of orchestral, sort of theater, sort of spiritual.
Very spiritual.
very similar in approach composition, instrumentation and vibe wise I think, to that 50years old album -(Centipede Septober Energy 1971 UK, Progressive Jazz Rock): ruclips.net/video/mPhZb_fQpAc/видео.html
@@timothyburns227 Just read a comment on Reditt that KW reminded the guy of a relative of his by the name of Pharoh Sanders. I agree now that I heard that. Spiritual is the word.
Who the hell puts an ad midway through this beaut?
Yep it's criminal!
Lol mine was the awful doordash guitar riff ad, killed the mood so hard
@@contopiasvids tell me about it!
