- I love it when a plan comes together! Having had a great result in a club match on the Monday night, I couldn't resist going back with the cameras! The fish certainly put on a good show!

Great video as usual. Another venue that I miss fishing and those big t ides! My lad caught his first bass on your glued flapper rig this weekend - chuffed. Quick question, I have bought him a lightish set up with a slightly smaller reel to keep the weight down. Any recommendation for a line for a fixed spool fishing mainly over clean ground.? I have 15lb on it now but it could do with a lower diameter.
Stick with an 0.25, that's my all round go to size. Coupled up with a matching tapered leader. Light enough to make casting easy, strong enough to land anything.
Great video Tom. I didn’t quite follow, what was the tide state there, were you fishing the tide down and what sized weights did you have on? Thnx
Hi mate. We had a very short bit of the flood tide, then it settled on top, and when the first bit of the ebb started the fish fed. That coincided nicely with last light, perfect.
Well done guy's nice to see different species caught looked a lovely evening and you could see the bites on the rods looked brilliant cheers. 👍🐟
Thanks matey. It was a lovely evening again.
Another good one fella well done , quick question what model bullseye do you use 9100 or the 9120 let me know mate cheers John
They're exactly the same reel, apart from the depth of spool. The 9120 has a deeper spool, but the 9100 still needs backing to fill it out properly, so pretty irrelevant. Just go with whichever are available!
Cheers once again Tom for the footage, spot on. All the best from G.Y
Thanks Carl mate.
Great stuff as always Sir 🎣😎👍🏼
Thanks matey. I wonder if that spider crab has arrived yet.
@@FishyTom 😂 I havnt seen it yet but will be on the look out 👀 tonight and if I find it will send it back your way 😝
No need. That was a gift. You keep it. I insist.
Best of luck tonight mate.
Perfect days fishing well done
Thanks mate
another great video Tom, want to give the that a go where were you guys parking ie how long a walk getting old and knackered these days.
We park down New Lane, as close to the little wooden footbridge as you can (it does get busy), then it's a little walk along the shingle towards the bend in the bank. It's not the longest of walks, but it is along shingle, so not the easiest either.
That was loads of fun. Oh, and I have a beard, so we shall have to arrange a session somewhere sometime. 😎👌
I'll pop an application form in the post. 🤣🤣
So many hounds caught from the shores along the south coast in the past few days, being a lure angler I hope the bass will be following soon.
The hounding has been excellent. As you say, hopefully the bass will follow suit.
Why do sea anglers use giant hooks for tiny bream ? I bet you would get more bites with smaller hooks
Any chance I'm able to use my feeder rods for sea fishing?
Good video 🎉
It's all about matching the hook size with the bait size, as with all types of fishing. There's little point hiding a size 12 hook inside a ragworm and lump of mackerel.
Yes, you can absolutely use your feeder rods... if the tide allows. That's always the difficult part of sea fishing. I'd love to fish far lighter than I do, but the conditions and tide rarely allow it.
That was a good session. I can’t get over how deserted the shingle bank was though. Ok it was a weekday, but you can still get a good 2, 3, or 4 hours in after work and not be knackered at work the day after. I guess people just lack commitment these days. Just kidding.
Miss the fish, at your peril 😂
I was amazed at how quiet it was, considering how perfect the tides and conditions were!
