I did as well at Knebworth in 1980 - Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine with Bruce Johnston; sadly Dennis died in 1983. RIP Dennis Wilson❣🌹🕊
@gilliankingston8259 you saw a great show! The Knebworth concert was quite popular. I watched the video (assuming it's the same show) and they performed really well. Bruce was also at the show that I went to. I believe it was in the late 70s.
Right? I got tickets to see them as payment for babysitting. My Dad was a beach boy his self so I took him and we had THE BEST time! It was light hearted joy. A few weeks later Dennis passed and it broke my heart but I was glad to see the OG Beach Boys.
Guys I love Dennis and The Beach Boys but he was not an awesome drummer . An awesome vocalist but on most of the Beach Boy albums in the 60s he did not play the drums . Those are just the facts
Only the good die young. Keep in mind at all times and don't even consider otherwise. @@garywells3763 he didn't know how to play drums ? What, at all? So that wasn't Denny on the albums Safari, USA, Surfer Girl, Deuce Coupe, 90% of Shut Down Vol 2 and All Summer Long? Not Dennis on Beach Boys in Concert, that went to Number 1? He didn't play on "That's Not Me" from Pet Sounds? He couldn't play on just about everything 1967-73? I met Dennis in 1975 when I was 18 years old. The Beach Boys were playing in Toledo Ohio and unfortunately they weren’t that good so few friends of mine and me left early. There was nobody in the parking lot, and as we were walking towards our car, we had to step aside still at three limousines pass by. The first one goes by and then the second one goes by and then the third one goes by and BAM they hit the brakes and there was Dennis Wilson staring out the rear window at me and then that limo pulled over and as we attempted to walk by Dennis open the door and grab my arm I Recents we’re going back to the hotel we’re gonna have a party we’re gonna have fun😮
When he looks up at the camera like that, you can’t help but make purring noises… 😍❤️ I may have been just a little girl in the 70s, but I knew a handsome guy when I saw one and I had the biggest crush on Dennis. Still do… RIP to the real Beach Boy ❤️
Only discovered Dennis recently. Wish I had been born 15 years earler..I was 19 when he passed. But man was he hot... just amazing energy.. and so soulful. Miss you Denny!
Dennis for me is the most under-appreciated drummer. Simplistic to see, complicated to feel. I say complicated because the pure emotion in every beat is so full of passion... pure emotion. And the most beautiful singing voice too. The first Beach Boy to release a solo album. I have a copy on Double CD. Such an amazing singer too! 🤙❤️
I was able to see them at Harris in S. Lake Tahoe,1986 of course Dennis had already passed , even Brian came out and did a couple songs. They sounded better than I expected. Great show did all their hits.😊

We saw them live at BostonCommon back in late 60s early 70s for free! Awesome memories! My wife(then girlfriend) still has the cassette tape that I made of that show to this day! 🤷♂️👍🏼😎🥰
All of the Survivors are welcome anywhere Music is played. All, and their friends in LA, were stalwarts, but without Brian's Brain and Perfectionism, we may never have heard of any of them
I always thought less of the Beach Boys as a teenager compared to The Beatles. As I matured I realized they were just as important to music as the Fab Four.

The Beatles were always better
@@charlie-j4o7u I don't deny that. The Beatles were always my favorite band, since the 60s. But the Beach Boys are definitely up there.

He was a musical genius right up there with Brian. Pacific Ocean Blue and Bambu are something to behold
just a happy boy playing the drums
He is an awesome drummer. R.I.P Dennis Wilson 1944-1983. Gone but never forgotten and forever missed.

His drumming was solid and like Keith moon had that it factor personality that refuses to be ignored. and his voice was part of the 4 part harmonies

He had such an unorthodox style to his playing but he was good at it. He served the songs well. His solo album was a stunning piece of work.

That's the most locked in 2&4 beat ever. Love the snare hand grip technique Dennis is using.
I noticed that hand grip...was wondering what it was called..
