Just a tip; use thermofit instead electrical tape and secure the wires with a zip tie, even though you are not soldering the wires.(Sometimes the electrical tape gets damaged in hot environments) Soldering wires is always the best way to go and you'll prevent bad connections in long term. Great videos btw, I've learned a lot!! Greetings!!

(this was just to show other golf fanatics how to) Keep on the good work!
Aww yiss. My car has an old headunit with a cassette player! Great that you uploaded this. I can get one myself and do it myself. the car did come with a cassette that has an aux cable sticking out of it. I can connect my phone on it
i would've put the radio on the bottom of the double din just for the sake of the cup holders not getting in the way lol but still great vid mate. nice car too
after watching all these golf videos I almost regret upgrading my 96 mitsubishi lancer coupe with a 2013 toyota corolla hatch (auris) :) I love my new car as well but there is something with the old cars :)
I like your bright personality, it's infectious. Good video, I just bought a Kenwood Double Din I will be installing. I hope it goes as smooth as your install.
PLEASE ANSWER!! what is the adapter piece called (or where can I buy it) that makes use of the factory wires, the piece that plugs into the actual head unit. I already took out all my dash and stereo and wires, thank you!
Also......People who do not understand cars and electrical very well need to be informed that it is smart to put more than one ground wire to avoid the possibility of clipping.. Thousands of people have come to me asking why their new radio (That they installed theirself) clips and sounds weird when driving...and every time I pull the unit out and it has only been grounded once...I throw in a second and it fixes it. Also sometimes there is not enough room in the dash for the wires and the radio to slide in....So helping them in how to properly move the wires and harness box out of the way so they do not cram the radio in and hurt the wires is smart also. whats up dude, ive got a 2008 accord coupe 3.5L V6 with a navegation sistem from stock, my question is that if you have to change the stock stereo player to put on some aftermarket subwoofers and an amplifier to make it work or with the stock stereo i can do that?
does the OBD scan port still work? I was reading about a problem with the K-line and wanted to make sure this doesn't affect it when I do the install on my Golf.
Hi there...thanks in showing how to do the job, yet I have a question... which bugs me, please help. (Now I'm in Uk), The question is, regarding unplugging the negative terminal of the battery.... will this not complicate the computer brain of the car?.... or not?
Yeah but speaking as a teenager we might not have access to these tools, my kenwood is put in the same way it works just fine lol. It’s an old car so when it dies I can remove that and put all the old stereo stuff back in. Just makes things simpler and more plug and play if you know what I mean
Thanks for the video. Tempted to do this myself. Does everyone else think this is a safe, simple procedure to do? Or is it best to leave the professionals? If you don't get it to work, I'm assuming you can just undo everything for someone else to do?
always buy a wiring kit that will connect directly into your old harness. if you do this there is nothing you can screw up. match the wires and plug it in. also get a antenna adapter but other than that you should be good. i know i’m late on the response but this can help many people

I can't seem to find one anywhere...thanks!
Good video but mate, honestly? Twisting and taping? You're better than that. Either crimp terminals in a pinch or solder and tape :) vehicles move around quite a lot and that will rattle you're wires loose
Do you have any plan to upgrade the stereo system? That would be very fun and helpful to learn about how to do it. I have always wanted to upgrade mine because the stock stereo has very weak bass. But got intimidated with the project.
Hey, I have a little problem with my own VW golf 4, my radio signal is very bad but the antenna works because when I screw off the antenna on the top of the car I have totally no signal. Also didnt you have any problem installing the radio because I changed my radio also but I couldn't slip it fully in, because the radio I bougt had extra cooling (was just 8 mm longer) so I had to replaced it again with an radio without CD player
Hi! I installed one in my golf 5, 2006 model. But my dashboard got a yellow light of a steering wheel when i started the car and it wont go away.. Do you know how i can fix that? Ive tried deleting it but the car does not allow it

Hey I’m Having an issue with my aftermarket head unit. I’ve installed a JVC single head unit without the CD player onto my 2000 VW beetle. I’ve used wiring harness to connect it and that was made for Volkswagen. But now for some reason only the front speakers are working. When I wired the head unit there are two gray cables and two white cables for the front speakers and back speakers but for some reason only the front are working do you have any idea why the back ones are not working?
I have installed an aftermarket radio on my car but something is wrong. The radio is working but the sound is very low and its not clear. Also only the two back speakers working and not the front. I also tried the sound settings from the radio but its not the settings something else is wrong. I also have a amplifier which have two cables that are connected to the radio. I must tell you that the new radio has 1 socket which is the power, 2 sockets that connects the amplifier with the radio and 1 socket which is the antenna. Any idea what might be the problem?
