For the people wondering why I 'copied' ChrisFix, I had my content recorded on October 22nd, but only got around to editing the video now. If you like the video for what its worth, awesome. Otherwise, if you don't like how we both covered the same topic, than don't watch it. Its as simple as that. *RANT OVER*
I honestly enjoy when different mechanics cover the same topic albeit in differing ways. Love your videos sir. Keep em coming! :) ignore the haters, they dont know any better lol.
Good video Milan, it don't matter what you do In your videos you'll always have some people bring out the negatives in your videos, with all honesty though who cares if makes a video on the same topic.
Remember watching this series back in 2016 when it was new, now in 2019 i'm about to be getting a tdi golf and i love this series existing, so much stuff I can learn from watching these quality videos instead of broken english stuttered talking european tutorials.
I've been looking for some good videos for modifications to do to my mk4 and I don't know how I haven't found this channel till now! So many different guides with step by step instructions. Awesomeness
People are complaining that you copied ChrisFix. I'm watching ChrisFix also, but I find this more usefull because I own a Golf mk4. So it's much simplier to watch this video. Btw exactly as you told golf is the worst scenario because you need to go underneath. In my case I watched this video because i've got a lot of "no accurate" shifts and i will be replacing the shift shaft bushings. Nice video, helped me a lot.
Saw ChrisFix's video on this and thought about doing it to my car. Thankfully, you made this video because I drive a Golf IV and I would've been so confused why nothing works the way it did for Chris :D So thanks for saving me a lot of trouble ;)
great video milan. i dont know why everyone is hating on you for the reason that chrisfix uploaded this kind of video before you. both of you guys are great youtubers and IM SURE theres something in this video someone took something out of that they didnt from chrisfix' :D
Very thorough. Watched every second of it and I don't even have a Golf. Keep it up lads! If you've got a video to install a short shifter for a 2010 Audi A3 2.0 TDI Special Edition (UK Spec), let me know.
great video i do t kno why everyone is tripping over u an Chrisfix you guys are doing the same thing but different cars an different builts i like both videos
Who cares if him and Chris posted videos covering the same topic.. There's lots of videos on RUclips that cover the same thing. Who cares. Great video.
@ 1:44, since the shifter boot is aftermarket, did you use a regular hose clamp to install the new boot to the shifter rod? I believe VW used a crimp clamp originally.
What's a short shift do? I have new clutch plate assembly the whole thing. And it's a XTR racing clutch . Would a short shift work for me? Because I can't get clutch petal adjusted correctly. . thanks for you time and feedback!
I did everything you did bro but when I go to put it in 1st it goes into reverse..first is a little to the right can you please help me out good video by the way
Diesel geek has a kit from inside the hood. Now will I be able to put a short shifter knob kit you guys got inside or how does that work? I like that shifter kit you guys got. And yes what pain in the ass replacing the bushings are. I need to replace mine but also the ones up top as well. The first gear getter bushing. Can you guys comment or perhaps a video on that?
hi was wondering if that was universal for a beetle around 99-01? i plan to pick another up around the end of the month here and i cannot find a guide on putting one in!
Hey mate, I'm a big fan and you wont believe me but I've also got a golf 4, same red shifter and same climate knobs like your bro (by accident, I guess we have the same taste ) and I did some interior work on it myself, I would love to show it to you sometime and if it's possible for you to give me an opinion on what you think of it! Anyway nice video!
Hi Milan. maybe a silly question but in alot of you videos you refer to oem parts. are they just the standard fitted part? or is oem an abbreviation for something? thanks
Recently, the white pin on my short shifter broke on my MK4, where it makes the shifter go in gear broke, where can I get another one, and do you what it’s called?
Thanks for the video. I appreciate seeing how someone else installs parts so that I can get tips. Nice video but y’all need to improve on your natural mechanic abilities.
Great video, just installed mine today. However, it came without a shift knob. Anyone know where I can find this one? It has to be one that allows the spring to hide inside it
Is that reverse lock out necessary or is it just An added Function Bc Ik The Mk1 Ford Focus Had That Reverse Lock Out and You Never could Find After Market Shift Knobs Due To the Lock Out Switch
aw I thought you were installing this on the accord, I really want to install one on my accord but I can't find one that seems trusting and at a good price
No need to clutch when the engine is off , because the clutch engages the gearbox (gears) to the running engine , In this case the engine is not so we don't have to clutch

Man I love this golf. You made it look alot easier than other guys on RUclips did. I might try in my Jetta
That aluminum shift knob is gonna hurt in canadian winters
I guess MiniMast can borrow his brother's driving gloves ;)
beiko yeah but alteast they his conversion added threads so he can change his shift knob now to whatever he wants
hurts the worst in miami summers
@@itsdamianb Yeah, my titanium knob isn't bad in the winter. The TX summer heat makes it a pain though.
You guys need to stop hating on him, man is a student as well, he doesn't have time to always make videos, Milan keep it up man!!!
I installed a Hurst short shifter in my 2004 Dodge Neon SRT all done from the top also replaced the bushings with Booger poly.Fantastic 👍

VW really made you put some work in for that mod!
Saw ChrisFix's video on this and thought about doing it to my car. Thankfully, you made this video because I drive a Golf IV and I would've been so confused why nothing works the way it did for Chris :D

So how did you get that exhaust back together you never showed
probably just an exhaust clamp
Very thorough. Watched every second of it and I don't even have a Golf. Keep it up lads! If you've got a video to install a short shifter for a 2010 Audi A3 2.0 TDI Special Edition (UK Spec), let me know.
I have a 1.8t that I'm doing this to! Hopefully it works out good. This is a helpful tutorial
great video i do t kno why everyone is tripping over u an Chrisfix you guys are doing the same thing but different cars an different builts i like both videos

Don't listen to the haters man!! You did good :)
I can only imagine what he looks like when he's baked
Great video again Milan. Thanks
great video, my dudes.
Drill a whole oo passger side of shift box to access dottom cable's. It's tight working area but better then cutting or discounting old exhaust.
Awesome, I’ve been looking for mk4 videos and this is the best by far
Great video, this helped a lot!
love frm algeria , well done
Can you post the link to where you bought the things
Yoyoyo I've been waiting for a new vid can't wait for what's done in the future

Mike Utoober eBay

I just got a mk4 jetta and I was wondering do I follow the same process?
Where did you get the new heating control knobs from??
I want to see the short shifter vid for the mini
Can you make a video on installing a new radiator!?
What brand of shift knob and boot was the red one ?
any idea if you can put a different shift knob on that megan racing shifter? It seems like you would be the spring looks like it would cause problems?
Nice video, but would it not be a lot easier just to hack saw some length off the original gear lever, then top it off with a new knob?
So if I didn’t want to cut my exhaust do you think I would be able to manage taking it out by just listening the clamp?
Is this red gearshift that you removed also fit in the seat leon year 2000?
what is the difference of short shifter kits in the gearbox and the gear shift???
do you have a link for those air conditioner/ heater knobs?
I can't seem to find the same one you installed. I would need the exact same. could you help me out?
I did everything you did bro but when I go to put it in 1st it goes into reverse..first is a little to the right can you please help me out good video by the way

Hi one question is this the same macanizem in seat ibiza 2008 ?
where did you those AC switches from they are cooll, they dont seem stock!
Can we get the same result if we simply cut the original?
And is the little C clip for the front to back Movement actually needed? Because the kit I bought didn’t come with one
So how would you change the shifter if you don't need to cut through the exhaust?
Do you a have video for honda accord? I got honda accord coupe i want to change it for short shifter. Thanks!
Hi what is the outer diameter of the original bushing end cap?
hi was wondering if that was universal for a beetle around 99-01? i plan to pick another up around the end of the month here and i cannot find a guide on putting one in!

Installed it on my auto civic , front end lifts now
Hey mate, I'm a big fan and you wont believe me but I've also got a golf 4, same red shifter and same climate knobs like your bro (by accident, I guess we have the same taste ) and I did some interior work on it myself, I would love to show it to you sometime and if it's possible for you to give me an opinion on what you think of it! Yea how do you lock the shifter into true neutral to adjust the cables?

Recently, the white pin on my short shifter broke on my MK4, where it makes the shifter go in gear broke, where can I get another one, and do you what it’s called?

Bought same one for my o2j swap in my mk3 how did you aligned the shifter since it takes out your set pin hole ????
Jamie Mosteller I want to know this as well! Any answers?
Thanks for the video. I appreciate seeing how someone else installs parts so that I can get tips. Nice video but y’all need to improve on your natural mechanic abilities.
I have a 1.2 2011 vw polo, do you know anywhere I can buy a short shifter that fits or explain how hard it would be to fit ?
Great video, just installed mine today. However, it came without a shift knob. Anyone know where I can find this one? It has to be one that allows the spring to hide inside it
Looks like yall could do a stainless steel exhaust upgrade for looks and rust prevention
Exhaust is defs on the list :)
Nice like what yall have done so far
Why did I cut your exhaust up and not just unbolt it? More likely to get leaks in it now ??
Is that reverse lock out necessary or is it just An added Function Bc Ik The Mk1 Ford Focus Had That Reverse Lock Out and You Never could Find After Market Shift Knobs Due To the Lock Out Switch
I know im like a year late but if I don't decide to put new bushings do I have to install the c clips?
when r u putting a video on the stone chip repaired to your Honda accord
hey is it the same whit a vw golf 4 v6?
how dou you changed the knobs from Ac/ klima ? yours are different
Really cool vid and even if you did "copy" chrisfix its nice to see it done on different cars :)
aw I thought you were installing this on the accord, I really want to install one on my accord but I can't find one that seems trusting and at a good price
I got a 2005 subaru sti and I want to install a short shifter for my car but I don't know exactly how to do it cause I can't find any videos on it
why do you guys move gear without pressing the clutch
Parth Agarwal Ikr it's annoying as fuck
Parth Agarwal you dont have to when the car is off
No need to clutch when the engine is off , because the clutch engages the gearbox (gears) to the running engine ,
In this case the engine is not so we don't have to clutch
PARTH AGARWAL don’t need to car isn’t running
car is off.... clutch is not engaged doofus
Chris fix cough* cough* but it is nice to see it done on 2 different cars
MCM Did it before both of them. Cough* Cough*
Plz tell me how to install a back camera in my golf 4
hi
where can buy short shifter
for Toyota Yaris 07?
Amazon? ebay? or what else?
Fun drinking game. Drink every time he says "shift knob"!
Do you know how to install one in a Eclipse 1998 rs 420a?
What is the pipe diameter
how much would it cost to get this done with a mechanic?
Alejandroof more than its worth. mechanics usually charge 90 an hour in labor. And that's cheap.
it fits to a ibiza 6j 2.0 5 speed?
when will you do a full exhaust kit id love to see that 😎 vids
