Thank you. I can't believe how much it improves the driving experience. It's not like the car got any faster or handles better but it feels so much more precise.
I just want to thank Fritz for his video. I installed the same TMS Polyurethane Shifter Carrier Bushing on my F30 with my stock shifter. I would say definitely listen to Fritz when he recommends an assortment of pry bars. I was able to install the bushing but it would've been near impossible without the right size of pry bar as leverage against the driveshaft. I did this install on jack stands and you need to use quite a bit of strength when prying the bushing into place. Based on his videos I installed the Rogue Engineering Transmission mounts as well and I'd say I'm quite happy with the result of the TMS Poly bushing paired with Rogue mounts with the stock shifter.
Short shifter is a must regardless of what car. It was the best mod ever. Yesterday i was at NY Autoshow. I went to feel the Golf R shifter, i was like, damn, i want this gearbox in my 228i - lol. It has a shoft shifter from stock and it is lighter too.
i dont think too many comments r gonna be in this video cuz not a lot of f30s came manual lol. tho mine is and this was a very informative video! thanks fritz
@Fritz Ramos from the video it looks like you did this job with just the front of the car on jack stands. Would you recommend using 4 jack stands or does jacking up the front have more than enough clearance?
I purchased this short shifter and I have to say I really don't like it. I have a 2016 340i Xdrive manual, I am currently MHD stage 2+. Comparing the shifts to the OEM shift they are indeed shorter, however, it's a lot more effort to shift and the shifts feel super stiff. It's like cool that it's a shorter shift but pointless in my opinion because I have to put more effort into shifting. Also, it is constantly loud, in traffic it is just constant clicking sounds. I am definitely going back to the OEM shifter its smoother, quieter, and just overall better. The only reason I want to put my two cents in is that I saw this exact video before Purchasing the Tuner Short shifter. If you have any advice on how to make it less stiff I will try it. But I am going to go back to OEM in around 3 days so any advice soon would help. Thanks
Any short shifter will cause an increase in effort. The only thing that you can do to lessen it is raise the height all the way. I haven't experienced any increase in sound, but perhaps the rubber boot is not fully sealed. Another thing to check is if the transmission mounts are overtightened. Hope this helps
What city you from im thinking of creating a bmw car club if your interested I have a channel too I’m new to this let me know if your Interested I own a 2016 bmw 550i
hello Mr.Fritz i have a urgent question for you ! would this same process also apply if the car is stuck in 4th gear before doing the switch ? my shifter literally broke so its stuck in 4th gear and im awaiting on the short shifter , im just not sure if i start to unplug things with the car in gear if thats okay or not ? im thinking that the clutch will need to be pressed down the whole time when disconnecting these parts ? can you please confirm anything if you happen to know god bless sir
I just got a 2017 340i xDrive 6 speed, do the Rogue transmission mounts fit an F30 340i? I see on their site it only shows working on F chassis M cars, fantastic video and it's so similar to my E46 that I did a Turner kit on a few years back!
Your recordings on the work you do to the car is unreal. Great footage man, and smooth tutorials.
A short shifter enhances any drive for ultimate driving pleasure. Great MOD my guy cant wait to see your next MOD.

The sound effects in the beginning were on point great job
Thank you! 😅
Thanks for this video. F32, have had a short shifter sitting for months. Gonna take a whack at it now
On my E90, replaced the plastic shifter with the ZHP, massive upgrade in itself
I can see that. The feel alone is a significant improvement

I see a lot of manual 4 cylinders but mostly 8 speeds for the inline 6s
Yes, i also thought there were none mad that is why i ended up with the 228i. There aren't many 328 manual in the USA.
@@hyde_official I had one and I see them periodically for sale. What was hard to find was a manual m235i
We have to save them lol
@@derekschommer1465 ive only seen 1 manual 28i in person... mine lmao. my friend has a manual 335i.. only one ive seen here in LA. lol
Your videos are just amazing ❤! Thx for sharing
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful
wow amazing work! love the style.
Thank you 🙏
I own a manual 340 and have always wanted to do this, just seems like a ton of work
It kind of is, but after doing it twice, it's worth it. Just go in with the right tools and it'll goes by smoothly.
@@FritzRamos thanks for the reply. What should I expect for labor hours? Might rent a Lift for a few hours to make it easier.
@@GuhbsBeats Maybe 3 hours including the seal. But if yours is good, 2-2.5 hours
@@FritzRamos has 24k miles on it
Ima need this for sure for the 2er 👌
Best bag for the buck mod 😆
Hey man love your content, keep it up ! Would this set up also fit on my 320i f30?
Thank you. I believe so, but double check the websites Fitment guide to be sure
Are you familiar with the UCC short shifter. I am considering this vs. the Turner.
Thanks
Must do this for my e90 👌
My friend has one and its nice 👌

Have you tried the M performance shift knob on there? If so how do you like it?

Hey fritz, do you know if this short shifter kit would work on a f30 335 xdrive?
Hi do you have the link to where you got the zhp gear knob?
Which refresh kit are you using?
Turner Motorsports or ECS
are there short shift kits for the 320i
Is this xdrive?
