In this video, Luca and I install a Momo steering wheel on the Golf, along with a Momo hub to make it work. He found the steering wheel and hub for sale for 80 dollars in a local listing, so he couldn’t let it just pass (same kind of situation with the Mini, it was too cheap to pass up).

very well done gentleman, doing this monday, picked up momo for 60 bucks, painted it tornado red to match the car. and picked up this hub for 70. not bad.
Safety first
My 89' Toyota pickup doesn't have airbags to begin with so either way I am breaking my face if I crash so might as well do it with style and comfort with a Sparco steering wheel. And all the people saying you should get a harness and race seat first, I totally agree If you are removing an airbag which is removing a safety feature. But like I said I am already missing airbags from the factory, so I have nothing to lose.
I have a 94' f150. Not like that airbag is safe to use anyways 🤷♂️😂

Seriously though the wheel upgrade make's a huge difference when your getting hairy in the turn's. Better grip and feel on the steering wheel gets those tires starting to squeal when turns are getting real. Be one with the G force!

Dear Milan, I like to know that how you install 2 wire with resistance if any ( resistance power ? ) to solve the air bag indication ligjht problem.

i have mk4 with that same 4 spoke steering wheel,I hated it from the day I bought the car,so I found the original 3 spoke steering wheel,like gti or r32,now it will look nice,it will still be safe and legal so I recommend this option

watched this vid ages ago and been trying to find it again for like a week for the airbag delete part lol
Seriously though please look got a Great clean looking Accord. Please move the battery to the passenger side. Every little bit of weight distribution adds up and makes a difference. I love the videos you put out and I am a little shocked by you putting the battery on the driver's side. These car's are front heavy. Also JEGs sells surprisingly for it like an adjustable brake distribution block. Haven't gotten to yet on my car but I know it's going to make a nice difference especially when you are running a larger wheel. More rear brake power will stop the dipping in the front of the car and help minimize over steer during heavy braking going into corners, as well as other things. Which means faster lap times so you can stay on the gas longer and brake harder. Plus the brake block is cheap and a easy upgrade.

While this is illegal, if you want to be safe (especially if you have aftermarket seats with no curtain/side airbag, I recommend a 4 or 5 (4 for street) point harness. The wheel hub collapsing is an absolute must, and the 4 point harness would keep y ou attached to the car, which is what you want in an accident (as opposed to being launched through the windshield or thrown out the window). It would not help you with submarining under the harness (yes, it happens, hence the 5th point in a 5 point harness.). Just be safe, fellas. :)

Nice video. Post-installation on my 2001 GTI. I'm getting an EPS & Brake lights on the Dash. OE steering had Cruise control & Volume controls. Since these are not being used now. Is that why iam getting light on the dash?

it is two cars they are working on...... look at 5.48 there is one type of light switch to the left of the steering wheel... and at 9.31 there is another type of light switch...

I have the same climate control knobs as your brother, if he wants his middle climate control knob red he can just color the whole clear inside part with a red sharpie , that's what I did to color match it lol

Oh ,and as far as the bolt pattern, for the most part, 6 bolt patterns are standard for the hub-to-wheel. Make sure, but they are for the most part standardized. The hub-to-column end is not, and as these dudes said, it's vehicle specific, so go that route, and don't cheap out.
Daft question, but how do you know when the hub is ligned up properly so the wheel is dead straight? I didn't notice any markers or anything?

You don't need to take the clocks out to remove the airbag, the steering wheel pulls forward on the adjuster lol
Sucks that here I Denmark, a wheel without airbag is illegal, so I am stuck with the stock ek4 wheel next month and next couple of years.. Might as well change it, fuck the law...

I have a special tool for takring them off it looks like a bent flathead screwdriver so you dont have to pull the cluster out

Can you send to a link to the hub adapter. I’ve gotten a Chinese cheap one that doesn’t have the tab for the airbag plug and won’t fit past it. I had to take out my clockspring for it to not run on the steering column. Would like to have all the oem parts still in car and have the steering wheel clockspring, airbag, and horn functional
