Thanks for tuning in! Should I get a new Polaris to plow snow? Maybe a UTV with a cab so I don't freeze to death? Let me know below.

Money is a tough point. If you’re going to keep it for fifteen years, spend big cry once.
Your access road may be pretty steep/angles. Be careful with a side by side so it does not flip or roll.

Currently have a polaris 6x6, old truck and jeep with plows. Have a long road on the lake (ice) to plow to access camp/cottage. In years with heavy snowfall it becomes impossible to keep the road open without making it ridiculously wide to begin with. The snow blows in an "fills" the entire road between the frozen banks. For this reason I am going to switch to a UTV( with cab) and a front mount 5' snow blower. Currently I've had to clear between the banks with a walk behind 30" model and I don't want to add up how many hours (days?) I've spent doing that.

I switched up my driveway surface. Back to gravel. It’s been a good thing and a bad thing. Summer dust, regrading the road every few years. And buying gravel every now and then are the downsides. The upside is. I can drive in the winter time with a lot more ease than the pavement. No more slippery slope driving. I bought a small used tractor with a snow blower and a rear box blade to maintain the driveway. Just a different option.

I've spent the last two years plowing my driveway with a 2wd 1987 Honda trx250. You can imagine right away how much that is a struggle, so I bought my neighbor's old magnum 325 when she moved.. I thought I was getting a good deal on it but unfortunately it needed almost everything fixed, and obviously was not maintained at all. 10 months later I think it's ready to try pushing snow this winter!

Aww please don't change it, it's so old and reliable and sounds like a great machine it no longer owes you anything, i get so attached to old reliable vehicle's, you could buy a new one and get nothing but trouble with it

Just bought a new 2023 Suzuki King Quad 750. Putting all Warn plow equipment on it. Having a snow blower is all ducky but where I live, if we get a lot of snow and the plow comes by and we have a berm and a the blower REALLY struggles with that. Plus the streets curb and mailbox access needs to be cleared. It takes just too long to be out there with a snow blower.

I have a 2001 Polaris 325 Magnum with a manual Warn plow, very similar to yours, however my machine is camo and not “professional.” I also use a winch to lift and lower the blade and like you, I get off the machine to angle the blade. I plow snow on our private road since our municipal doesn’t plow about 800 feet where our house and 3 others reside. I’m lucky that my driveway is at least flat. I personally will not part with mine, it has been a reliable machine for almost 20 years now. Funny that my rear brake for 10+ years was useless too, just like yours. I broke down and took mine to a Polaris dealer and had it completely serviced about 2 years ago. When getting it serviced I had them fix the rear brake and it has worked great ever since. I didn’t like relying on just one brake. The machine came back running like new! The guy who serviced mine, who services all the modern quads, told me how much he likes the old simple machines that are so much easier to service. Up to you what you do with yours, but for me, I’m hanging on to the old girl, she has been good to me. 😊

I'm considering getting that new Can-Am Outlander Pro HD7 (new model for 2023) with a Boss 5'6" V-Plow (uses hydraulics, no need for winch). I'll have around 1,100 yards of dirt/gravel easement to plow. Will be located in Central Minnesota, so I might not have quite the amount of snowfall you have in the mountains, but we do get it frequently and we definitely get pretty cold. Artic weather gear with hand warmers should get me through. Nice video, thank you!

I have a Boss 5’ straight plow and I paid over $3,000 for it 5 years ago. It’s pretty heavy but the v plow is heavier and more expensive.
The boss plow is nice to operate. I used to have a manual lift plow not even a winch.
If you get the setup you’re talking about you’ll definitely like it.
The v plow will make plowing deeper snow easier.

I have a 38hp diesel tractor, I can tell you trying to plow snow with a stock front loader bucket is not fun. Hard to see, hard to get level without digging in, can't angle it. A rear 3pt blade would be easier (don't currently have one). I fixed up a $500 1987 Suzuki Quadrunner and thinking about getting a plow for it. 4 wheel independent suspension, 5 gears + 3 ranges + 2wd/4wd/4wd with front diff lock. Still chugging along with over 5k miles on the clock. I would recommend keeping your quad till it gives up the ghost... probably no time soon.

@@BigRockOutdoors1 best bet if you have a loader is often to just tip bucket almost vertical and back drag. I've had it slide on a icy hill. That is butt puckering, so quad would be safer.

If you have to replace that for the soul purpose of plowing, maybe consider a kubota side by side.
Can get them with doors, heat, ac, radio, mirrors, caution blinkers.
But of course that’s $25,000 probably
