    Can't wait for the next video! I think a ton of people with a variety of different projects will be interested in learning how to use/capture can bus messages

    Very interesting work. Thank you Dan.
    The technique for "extending" the door was really smart. I was rather expecting to see a layer of gelcoat before the "peanut butter was applied" and I wondered whether some fine matt could have been added to stiffen the edge.

    I was waiting for the Doh!! When a big blob of glue fell on the dash.
    Fortunately that didn’t happen 😀👍
    I believe that a paint brush dipped in wax and grease remover can be used to smooth the windshield glue.
    Tip
    Ordinary packing tape is good for masking off resin as it won’t stick.

      Oh God, I didn’t even consider the potential dash situation! That would have been disastrous. 😱

      Thanks for your kind words. If you noticed, I’ve never once asked anyone to click ‘subscribe’ or notification bell in any of my videos. I believe if you’re truly interested in my content, you already know what to do. Anyway, I have fun sharing my experiences and simply want to give back to the same community for which I’ve learned so much. I hope I can inspire others to do their own projects, no matter how small or large, because it is so rewarding.

    Great work! 3 questions...1) Did you need to use rubber height setting blocks to make the windshield flush with the body? 2) Did you end up needing 2 tubes of adhesive? 3) Did you use the same primer & adhesive for headlight covers? Almost there!!

    • @DanDulac
      @DanDulac  7 месяцев назад +1

      1) Nope-fit level without blocks 2) one tube was it with about 5% leftover. 3) I have not done the headlights yet but I’m planning on using the same stuff.

    Dan Happy New Year, after 49 Episodes what I have taken away is these are NOT that easy to build, but worth all the effort nonetheless. I use West System a lot, I have nothing but grief with RivNuts. Because of you, I am using the same material on my ElCamino dash pad as you used on your build. I thought along with another contributor that you were “adventurous “ not protecting your dash. Can’t wait to see you tooling down the roads in New England next summer.

      In hindsight I should have definitely covered the dash for insurance. But thankfully I got away with it. 😇

    Curious, what is that you’re applying in the rivnut holes and what’s the purpose?

    • @DanDulac
      @DanDulac  7 месяцев назад

      Ah yes, great question. It’s JB Weld quick epoxy. I like to line the holes with it before installing rivnuts in fiberglass to prevent the rivnuts from breaking loose over time. It’s cheap insurance to lock the rivnuts in place permanently.
