- Easy,
Hello and welcome back to the DNB basics series. throughout these videos, I will take you from a blank project to a finished track. This lesson will be based around reworking a break from a sample pack into something original and creating a vibe that we can start working from. I will also go into a deeper explanation of how some basic effects work along the way! If you want to follow along with me then the sample pack and template are available on my website- links below!
Check out my Website for loads of free Drum and Bass tools.
There are FREE PRESETS, PROJECT FILES, AND FX RACKS!

I'm not a DnB producer, in fact I make a sort of psychedelic Glitch, but I find that it's useful to explore different techniques, whether it's for sound design, arrangement, composition or mixing. So thank you, the video is great, very informative, and accessible, I think you can find something here whether you're a seasoned pro or an amateur looking to start somewhere. A hug from Italy!
agree, I'm doing psychedelic stuff as well and I learn various music styles too.
Amazing tutorial that really was a huge help. Thanks man
Yes mate...I was gonna request a track from scratch series from you!!!
Quality content. Can‘t wait for the next video ✌️
Thank you
Quality content as usual! Thanks a bunch! :D
Thanks man
Clear and concise 👍

These videos are brilliant and especially when you explain what things do and why its worth doing them. Big Up!
Glad they help mate

Thank you!
Great vid mate. Thanks.
You’re welcome
Just a heads up had a 1-1 to with sceptre Fairly recently. Drop him a DM they are fucking quality learn so much within the hour we had . Helped set me back on track with my production massively. Going to get a 1-1 again soon for sure.
I don't know how I got here but this is solid content. Good work.
Thank you
Will be watching this serious, just working on a dark and deep tune 👊
Nice work
this is really nice but would be great if you would go till the end, making the break, the intro, the outro, etcs! thanks a lot for sharing! peace
Hey mate this is done on track from scratch series 2
lovely@@SceptreMusic ! can't wait to see it
Great information thanks
You’re welcome 😊
Very nice, I know what to do this weekend
😊
Great vid and content man, dunno how I've just found this channel!
Most of these techniques I'm familiar with but it's always useful to see other peoples workflows and explanations - Love the tip on slightly de-tuning the second snare! Deffo gonna be using that one.
One question - I noticed you have four separate return tracks for reverb (plate/small room/large room/hall)... why? No shade, genuinely curious. I've only just started using returns in the last year (after 7 years of producing 😅) and I'm finding one reverb return track to do the job. Though lots of tracks still need their own personalised verb.
On a separate tip, if you're using OBS to record, I'd strongly recommend going into Sources, right-click the Microphone input, then click Filters. From there, Click the + sign in the bottom left (add filter), and add "Noise Suppression", and select RNNoise.
The general production quality is great - it's just missing some noise suppression - the mic is also picking up the sound of the keyboard, mouse clicks and the general humming of the devices.
If you're graphics card is an nVidia RTX 2060 or above, you're can use nVidia Broadcast software, which does all the above, and more, but better. Highly Recommended.
Keep up the good work man!
Subbed.
thanks for the tips man
Perfect timing as I try out a DnB track. Great content as usual
Thanks man

Hey, Don't suppose I can get that template for live 11, think it would help me massively
Hey mate, sure the website is down at the moment if if you connect with me on instagram ill send it over to you. Big up!
Hi, I love the workflow template, and the way you explain things is so easy to follow. Thank you. The link to the project files doesn’t seem to work
Should be back up now mate www.sceptremusic.com in the RUclips free pack. 🙂
Thank you : )@@SceptreMusic
Hi, great tutorials, is the work flow template still available to download?
Yes, it is 🙂
No eq on the kick ? i am starting out how come no eq for the kick?
Because Eq should only be used when necessary. 👊🏻
Yessss cmon
:)
Great video! Subbed! But i have one question tho: Is there a reason why don't use SEND (Busses) e.g. for reverbs? I know that Ableton have groups but still.
Sometimes you want reverb for sound design purposes instead of them all going through the same send.
Thanks man, it’s because it gives you greater control of the mix of the effect to volume of the dry signal. it’s like using the send as “pre fader” . And yes what @MMMGrower said this was for a sound design purpose rather than mix down.
Thanks for clearing that out. Both of you. I'm only in beginning phase of learning curve, so i tend to ask about things that i've seen in other tutorials and trying learn my way to do it. It's hard and there's no "snake oil" available 😅 Thanks again.
No problem, the best way to learn is asking questions.
Nice! Which headphones do you use?
If he is respectable to his ears: DT-880 pro’s... best ever! Seen in every studio.
DT-770 pro’s
Lol
Would it be possible to go even more basic? 😂
From the initial load up to setting the layout of live. Yours looks totally different from mine!

Please continue
Will do my friend
cute

Hey, could you kindly re-locate your camera? As a beginner, it freaks me out not being able to see what's done bottom left. I know you explain what you're adjusting, yet I think it would help more to actually being able to see what's going on down there. Apart from that, I like your tutorials so far!
