Yeah, you remind me of Paul Hartnoll of Orbital - partly the physical similarity but also the simple childlike (in a good way!) enjoyment of making music without trying to be too cool about it.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You brought back the fire in me to keep producing! This is a fantastic tutorial, sending you a million karma points from Lithuania, sir!
Why Amen? You're not writing about something religious or some kind of ritual. And your smiley face, if I'm not mistaken, has the meaning "crying with laughter." Is Amen related to The Prodigy - Omen track? Or just with the name of a loop with drums. Or with 2:53
@@ChessRapid1300rating First of all, there is no need to be rude just because you don't understand. "The Winstons - Amen Brother" is the name of the song which contains the specific drum sequence, thus the name "amen break". Search for it if you want to know more. Yes the crying with tears face emoji was hinting at a joke related to what Will said at 2:53 hope this clears it
This is the first video I've ever watched from your channel and it's easily one of the best liquid drum and bass tutorials I've watched. You created an absolute tune and didn't overcomplicate the process, which is exactly the kind of tutorials us beginners need. Please finish this track and release it because you had me vibing out 😁

DnB has been declared dead every other year since it first came up... and still it's very alive and well. Not many genres are as versatile as DnB (imho). Anyway thanks for the tutorial, you always point me in new directions by making me try new stuff and helping me broaden my understanding of making electronic music.
It’s “dead” because most artist don’t know how to catch the essence of DnB. It’s lively, hyper. A true DnB makes you get up and jump. It sends this energy through your body. If it doesn’t make you do that, or smile, then it is not DnB
Fantastic tutorial, one of the most enjoyable I've ever watched. As some of the other commenters have mentioned, I really hope you released this track Will!
I was watching this again for a refresher. I had only planned on rewatching a few parts, but ended up just watching the whole thing again, because I got so hype. Indulge away brother!
Always loved D&B since the 90's - great vid and has given me the inspiration to revisit my old tracks for a modern treatment. Keep up the great work Will.
This was great! thank you! Id love more dnb tutorials from you, also, DNB is still huge all over the world! It hasnt gone anywhere lol. I totally agree with this - it is what makes Will's videos so enjoyable.

Ruff guide to basic break beat/D+B beat layout for ya...
number = position of beat in bar, and - = no note
Kick = |1 - - - | - - - - | - - 3 - | - - - - |
Snare = | - - - - | 1 - - - | - - - - | 1 - - - |
Secondary shuffle Snare (every 4 bars) | - - - - | - - - 3 -| 1 - - | - - - - |
Hat = | 1 - 3 - | 1 - 3 - | 1 - 3 - | 1 - 3 - |
Shaker = | - 2 - 4 | - 2 - 4 | - 2 - 4 | - 2 - 4 |
(hat and shaker can be reversed depending on sound)
I think that's right, did it off top of my head. ;)
So inspiring, as always!
