    Man, nothing better than when you find the tutorial that finally ties together all the other tutorials you've watched. I redid my kick and low end on my newest track based on these suggestions and am sitting in my studio dying laughing from joy. I love that I can move forward on all my future tracks and carry these easy methods with me to find what kind of sound works for what type of track. I was definitely someone who would find a "good enough" kick and bass and then spend ages adding effects and EQ'ing, only to have to come back later and redo it all again. Starting off with strong sounds is absolutely key and got me 95% of the way there before doing any EQ'ing, compression or sidechaining. I was shocked at how good it sounded with no effects on the channels. Thanks so much!

    I just learned that you have a mixing guide. Thanks for making it free, most people say “IT’S JUST $10” (for example) but when everyone is charging you $10 (or more) for everything + all the money you just dropped on you new equipment you suddenly start feeling like you won’t be a good producer unless you have a ton of money (which is technically not true, but they really are making it that way)

    • @EDMTips
      @EDMTips  Год назад

      Cheers, Boris! I understand that in order to produce high quality content you need to invest money so if people decide to charge $10 for a useful piece of content, I can see no problem with that.
      However, my mixing guide is totally free for anyone who wants it.

    I think Will is the entire reason why I never finish a track - every week I learn something new and then have to go back and apply these learnings.

    Hi Will, good video as always!
    I just have a question regarding your comment at 14:10. In my notes, I have it down that the sub bass doesn't need to match the shape, because that shape quality already provided for by the mid-bass e.g sub doesn't need to be plucky because the mid is

    You can do a Shift+down arrow or Shift+up arrow on your keyboard while a transpose field is selected to skip through octaves (+12 or -12 tones)-a bit quicker method for tuning the kick! Great tips-subscribed!

    I think what is very Important too is the Mid/Side Equing especially on the Low End when it comes to the Mastering Process or in the Bass+Kick Bus , a 12dB/Oct Lowcut at arround 150-170 Hz in the Side Signal helps to clean up the Lowend aswell , important to get a Loud Mix and a Lowcut with a 24/36 dB/Oct at arround 30-40 Hz in the Mid Signal makes the Lowend a bit more Solid :) And of Course all Elements which dont are called Bass or Kick with an obligatory Lowcut anyway :)

    use vital, send sine wave direct out (not to filter) that makes a great lowend bass tone which is consistent to the bass notes you play, tune it an octave lower than your played notes, use shaperbox to sidechain the sub frequencies, manipulate overtones with the wave editor instead of the filter can also improve /stabilize phase response, always turn off random phase in your plugin.
